I am having this problem after 1,600 miles on my 2016 RadMini, I believe it’s the peddle assist. I say this because when I use the throttle in tandem with peddle assist the bike seems confused and shuts down. This would apply to a code 30 as communication between these two systems are some how compromised? But by what? Erosion? Have you tried putting in a a new peddle assist? Well I’m guessing but your post says 1 year ago certainly you have identified the issue by now. If you are still out there what was t?
Hi there. Yes the issue was resolved. RAD at first sent me a new wiring and a controller. The issue wasn’t resolved. After I sent this video to them they sent me a new display. After replacing the display the issue was resolved. So, in total I had to replace all three. The wiring, controller and the display. I have about 6500 miles on it and it still works fine to this day. I hope this helps.
shadowdance4666 unfortunately 99% it usually comes down to the controller. I really wish they source it from a good vendor. These things just seem to die due to water is my guess. The guys at rad have some of the best customer service out there. They’ll have you up and running. Just contact them.

I don’t understand though. In the video you stated that the replacement motor controller only lasted a week or what? How did you resolve the problem exactly. How many motor controllers etc. ?
Added message here. I recently bought the Juiced Hyper Scorpion and was fortunate in the electronics and motor working properly. I have heard horror stories but I’m ok. Point is all these ebikes have their issues. I have read the messages sent to you to date and code 30 presents to new owners while mine and yours occurred after several years. I have learned much having the RadMini and so feel prepared for what comes with the Hyper Scorpion. All this ebike stuff has an expiration date and who knows when? All comments below were helpful and one correlated with my query’s position. That it’s the peddle assist. Did you find this so in your case? By the way the Hyper Scorpion is a beast! Man what a ride! Going over the 2 mile bridge here is stable and solid ride do to the bikes weight. Feels in the sweet spot between a bike and a really small motorcycle or moped. But it will get funny they all do. Leaning how to use a volt/amp meter is next #1 thing to do.
On my RadCity 2018 bike, I had the same error code and turns out it was just the LCD wire (the one that twists and has metal on it) was loose and i just had to tighten it and problem solved 👍🏼
My problem is the same and I managed to solve it in my case it was not the connections since they were all well connected and without water or humidity inside the solution was the following first, you should clean the small plate that is next to the optical on the plate there are small magnets distributed and these get dirty with the passage of time, this makes it difficult for the optical reader to touch the magnets when handling what the error produces Second, you must check that the plate is not bent you can check it by pedaling with your hand and see if the plate stays straight, if you see a slight curve, then you should put it straight, with the same hand you can achieve it
@@mikeybametzrieder2704 right next to the pedal, the plate has metal points, but if your problem is already obvious it is necessary to replace the controller that is the cpu

I have a new Rad City 4 that was ridden twice. Error code 30 is present right from the get go.
I have the same problem on RadWagon 4. I think the problem is in the LCD unit itself.

I had the same problem, just disconnected the display plug reinsert it and tighten worked for me
Same issue on my radrover6+. Can't figure out what's wrong.

remixread yes. They had to send me a new display and new set of cables. That solved it.
