Thank you for clear and precise instructions. There was no moving the camera to give you motions sickness and it was loud enough. My husband passed of Covid leaving me alone to repair my car. I am not mechanically inclined nor do I have the money to take my car into the shop but need my car for work. I was able to purchase a 2005 Mercedes Benz c240 because the original owner passed and left it to his son which parked it in peat dirt and let it sit for a year. Nobody wanted to buy it because no one wanted to fix or clean out the engine. I bought it because all I had was $2000 for a car and so the son happily took it. The car drives beautiful and is beautiful but has a pile of different greases caked on the bottom of the engine bay and coolant leaks on the driver side. I believe there is a clog. The thick oil sludge is thick on the radiator itself and coolant seems to be spraying against it from somewhere. So, I decided instead of guessing, waiting for the car to just blow up, I thought it better to take the radiator out so I would be able to clean it to find damage and if I could fix it. Finding helpful information on a Mercedes is like getting nuclear secrets for the government so again, thank you for your help 😊
Wow! I admire you and wish you all the best for you and your beautifully taken care of Mercedes. Thank you for this comment and for sharing your story.
Nice video. I found a quick hood latch cable disconnect close to the left headlamp, is a square plastic which has a lid you can open, so you can disconnect the cable allowing the removal of the crossmember with the latches and cable attached.
I need to do this on my 2006 c230. Radiator is bad and water pump. My radiator hoses look good, can I still use them for new radiator? Not sure if they are "O" ring seals or if it makes a difference?
Great video but it is not complete! There is another support for the radiator on left and right bottom that needs to be detached. I was trying hard to wedge it for almost 1 hour before I noticed it. You should get under the car and you will see both tabs. Something that helped me was looking at the new radiator to understand where the tabs were. Hope this helps someone else.
i better find someone who can really work on my car .i have this car and i love it..fast quick and pretty

I was able to get the fan out but the radiator seems to be stuck at the bottom sides. I can't pull it out. How can I get those bottom side hooks to release? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your video. God bless.
I’m having trouble connecting the lower radiator house that goes into the water pump I insert the hose and put the wire clamp but if I tug it a bit it comes out
ok I think this is the info you are looking for: the transmission lines that are disconnected drain minimally and the radiator transmission reservoir seems to be less than 1L. When draining not much came out, and according to the Mercedes WIS the official procedure states to check and add transmission oil if necessary, of capacity 5L. hope that helps
have you removed all the hoses and the unclipped the radiator? try to feel for what is holding it in place, see what parts of the radiator are free and what feels tight and looks attached? maybe this can lead you to the issue
I have the same problem. Seems to be sticking at the bottom. I ended up because of time putting it all back together with radweld. But it's started leaking again and I really need to get this job done without taking a grinder to the old radiator.
ok303 thank you was it piece by piece or did you buy them as a kit? I am having a coolant leak and when I turn on my defrosters they make everything muggy. Thank you so much for making this video everything looks pretty straight forward.
Would you mind helping me. I have a Mercedes Benz c230 1998 and a hose popped off by the oil stick. Inside the hose is a spring that wont go back inside the hose. My car starts but when i slow down it stops. If you know or know anybody that can help me plz write back
I'm not too sure what it could be honestly but maybe its a vacuum hose or hose that goes into the intake manifold and car is losing vacuum when you stop. I would try to find some message boards or forums online for your mercedes, look up the model code w202. Also, maybe a skilled mechanic can take a quick look for you without charging.
those connections have little clips/clamps that you need to remove. once off, install in reverse by just pushing the lines back in, and re-attaching the clamps
Video is 5mins, how long is actual task for someone with intermediate technical skills? Nice video editing, but it would have been more beneficial to extend to 10mins and show actual removal and reinstallation.

Very detailed yet straight to the point. I wish everyone made videos this simple.

A great video because you take the time to describe how hoses, cooler lines, clips etc. are detached. Thank you.
Thanks for missing the upper radiator mounts. A lot of help.
Probably the best how-to video I've seen on car repair. Outstanding job!
Very detailed, short and to the point, no unnecessary talk. Very professional and engineerlike video. Kudos!
Best, and least cluttered video on this subject. Nice.
Thank you sir, I appreciate it!
Very detailed, great video. Thank you for posting this will help me when I do the rad replacement and trans service in my 03 c320
Excellent editing. Exactly right for my 2006 Mercedes C230. Thanks!
Charles Madsen I am having to do this for my 2006 Mercedes C230. What problems were you having with yours, and how was your resolve?

Yep, found it then found your comment. Trying to figure out how to detach the bottom
This information is very useful. Thank you.
Thanx for the informative video on Radiator Replacement.
Excellent video! Do you need a special tool/pick to remove the quick-release clamp on the hoses? Or will a regular flat head screw driver work?
Thanks this video help me a lot to learn how to do this when is time to replace it 👍
short & clear ,not waste time to watch.
very nice thank you keep 'em comin
i just need to change the upper hose, how do you remove the quick release pin to pull out the radiator hose at 3:13
Did you figure this out yet?
@@brandchannelbackup9259 yes thanks
@@kracksmith4ejm1 You're welcome

Hey theres a like a metal tube under my radiator 2007 c230 wondering what it was
How do you reattach the transmission lines after removal? These clips are weird!
Any answer on this I'm about to push this car off a cliff
How do you remove the retaining clips on the bottom transmission coolant hose
I’m having trouble connecting the lower radiator house that goes into the water pump I insert the hose and put the wire clamp but if I tug it a bit it comes out
The bottom of the radiator was latched on to the intercooler which had to be removed which entailed removing the bumper.
what exact year/model?
WDC203, 2004. This is actually a C 180 not sold in the US.
I am having challenges with the transmission coolant hoses. Seems they are stuck in the quick release points 🤔😕
완벽한 영상!! 감사감사!!
how much transmission fluid needs to be added ?
I don't know, this is not a transmission service. I replaced the radiator and replaced the coolant up to line indicated on the reservoir
right.... but you also disconnected the radiator coolant lines. the new radiator has a transmission fluid cooler did you not fill it up?
at 4:10 you disconnected the transmission hoses and never said anything about refilling the transmission
ok I think this is the info you are looking for: the transmission lines that are disconnected drain minimally and the radiator transmission reservoir seems to be less than 1L. When draining not much came out, and according to the Mercedes WIS the official procedure states to check and add transmission oil if necessary, of capacity 5L. hope that helps
I replaced the upper hose, the wire clamp is not properly holding the hose to the radiator and continues to leak. Should I replace the wire clip?
oooo! Also brake/rotor change/replacement!!!
How do you remove the retaining clip for the transmission hoses??
Whats the electrical cable on the hood release for? 1:40 i've always wondered
Dont you have to burp it after replacing the the coolent?
what a huge space compared to my c270
I lost fast spring clip for lower hose and don't know part number and from where to take it. any Idea please ?
3:15 how the hell does that quick release pin work? I can’t seem to get it on right.
When replacing the radiator do I have to replace the hoses or is that just a suggestion?
You can reuse the hoses if they are in perfect condition, without leaks and cracks.
Couldn't find the clips on the side off the fan
I wish it was that easy
Is this the same for a 02 c240 ?!??!?
The radiator seems like it’s stuck at the bottom but I’ve done all the steps what am I doing wrong?
have you removed all the hoses and the unclipped the radiator? try to feel for what is holding it in place, see what parts of the radiator are free and what feels tight and looks attached? maybe this can lead you to the issue

How is the intercooler separated from the radiator?
Did u figure it out? I'm going to do my 07 c230 in a few days
Can I use ,a, Transmission cooler,for,raditor,automa tic
Transmission,to,a, standard
Transmission,no, Transmission,
Ports.
Was the radiator changed because of transmission fluid mixing with coolant.?
replaced the radiator because it was leaking fluid onto the pavement
ok303 right on. I’m having problem with oil or transmission fluid in my coolant at the moment. Oil seems fine no chocolate milkshake. 🤷🏻♂️
Where did you buy the replacement hoses, gaskets and radiator for the vehicle? I'm looking to replace mine on my 2002 Mercedes C320
hey sean, I bought my parts for this project from rmeuropean .com but I also like autohausaz .com
ok303 thank you was it piece by piece or did you buy them as a kit? I am having a coolant leak and when I turn on my defrosters they make everything muggy. Thank you so much for making this video everything looks pretty straight forward.
I bought the radiator and hoses separately; not too sure about the coolant leak

You forgot the Ac Hoses under the Radiator, bud. Lol
They rushed it unnecessarily.
What year Mercedes was this ?
03
do the transmission lines just snap on straight in
those connections have little clips/clamps that you need to remove. once off, install in reverse by just pushing the lines back in, and re-attaching the clamps
will try I thought they were just pushed in and it would lock onced pushed
well its possible since different variations of cars may have been built slightly differently. in my case, I had the clamps
on video it looked like clips
I need 1998 ,e 320 Mercedes rad video rep lace
