Thanks for this great video. I don’t have yet the H90 but will definitely buy one after seeing all the possibilities ! Just subscribed to your channel.
You explain very clearly, I can then implement it myself directly. A video about the DualMode would be great. Which video of Leon Todd regarding routing did you watch? Thank you very much for the effort and all the work. 🙏
Glad you liked it. I have been a bit busy lately so haven't done many videos. To be honest, I'm probably going to do one about the looper and the reverbs next. But maybe get to the dual routing soon.
thank you for this video. Can I run a stereo insert (reverb pedal) plus the two H90 algorithms ALL in parallel? or does one of the three have to be in series? Example, can I run my external reverb as a parallel insert, a delay algorithm in parallel, and a micropitch algorithm also in parallel?
That's really helpful. I just got an H90 after having the H9 for years. I've not even heard it yet. I spent the day copying over the presets from my H9 and organising them into patches. I'm planning on using a chorus pedal (funnily enough) in an insert loop and i was wondering - is it possible to switch the insert on and off using MIDI? I'm working my way through most of your H90 videos, they're great 🙂
Thank you for the great video ! how do i run two separate effects in parallel to two separate pairs of output jacks .i do not understand how to route them to two separate output jacks?
I’m running a stereo insert with a delay and reverb pedal in the loop. Can I run into the pedal in stereo? I have an amp sim pedal that has a stereo out that I’m running into input 1 and 2 and one of the outputs that I’m running to a DI is not directing any signal.
You forgot to mention how to use ‘kill dry’ in parallel mode. What to do if you want to bypass one or the other or both. Especially when using two inserts and there is no kill dry option for the inserts (I expect this to be corrected in an H90 update). So bypassing, let’s say, two synth/dirt pedals gives two unprocessed signals added up (or 3,4 together with the two H90-fx).
Is there a way that once I have determined which Auxiary effects I want and where, that instead of having to set up each program separately, I could do some type of global change that this configuration will make this change on EVERY program thereby setting up a sort of "virtual" pedalboard bringing in/out any auxilary effects by simply stepping on their individual "bypass" switches? REMEMBER: although I have set up a "auxilary"external effect as a "insert".....It still can be switched "in" or "out" by simply stepping on it's bypass footswitch.
So like… can i plug my ES-8 stereo out into IN 1 & 2 and my out be OUT 1&2. I guess… where do I specifically say i want a stereo in for one single insert? The ES-8 will be doing alot of the switching via MIDI
Hi, I´m thinking to buy H90 insted my 2 H9´s, but I have one problem. I want to keep my Source Audio Nemesis delay. I´d like to have this stereo delay in the insert of the H90. I need to have for ex chorus (or any other modulation eff) from H90 first, than in parallel nemesis stereo delay (in insert 1,2) and any reverb algo from h90. Is it possible? i didn´t this possibility in Your video. Thank Michal
It all depends. I suppose logic would say that dual mode is better because you can then use your looper/switcher to rearrange the order of side a and side b as 2 independent effect pedals, but insert mode would give you a lot more options for routing.
Was I crazy to think that I could route two synths at the same time through stereo ins and outs and be able to switch the h90 and it’s functioning between the two ?
@@GuitarStuffChannel I’ve done but every time I switch programs the unit itself reverts back to stereo input 1-2. Is there something happening by default that has got to be switched on/off ?
@@GuitarStuffChannel ah I see. Thank you for clarifying, I thought I was doing something wrong. I’ll just have to get us to that. It would be awesome if you could show us all how to build our own custom presets. should be easy enough but this thing can get tricky. Also a H90 control app spot light…. Thank you again! So so much
You would need a programme that had 'thru' on both A and B sides. You can create one and then if you have midi just select it via program change on your midi controller.
While this is useful functionality, the thing I am a bit disappointed with is that you don’t seem to be able to set up the H90 so that you can use your inserted pedal on its own. I have an analog delay which sounds amazing as an insert between modulation and reverb presets, but once it’s inserted I can’t use the delay on it’s own (except if I set up a program that goes straight through with no H90 presets, or if I use the performance mode two switch the presets off, but this restricts my ability to scroll through other programs). If I’m wrong someone pls let me know(!)
Nothing special. An old 12v adapter with a reverse polarity adapter on the end. I put a sticker on it saying reverse so that I didn't mess up my other pedals with it.
So essentially, I can have this pedal in several locations of my chain just by going to and from it using the different I/O's? I.e. Comp>H90>OD>H90>Delay> etc?
Yes, kind of. Insert mode is described above. Dual mode is more for 4 cable model where each preset (a or b) acts like an individual pedal. It depends how much flexibility you want/need.
Great video and clear explanation, I shall be watching more of your videos on the H90 thank you for your time and work.
Thanks for watching!
Great job! You made it so clear. Thx for your work! Expecting a tutorial about the 4 cable method on H90.
Thanks. Yes, it's on my list to do a couple more videos on the H90.
Very informative !! Thanks for sharing and easy to understand !! Although I’m going through it bit by bit 🤘
Glad it helped!
i imagine an h90 into the insert 1 of another h90 , crazy :)

EHX "Ravish Sitar" may be a better example to use for inserts. IDK.

Can you save a preset with only the FX loop in the patch, and not either of the H90 sounds?
I think so. Put 'thru' in both presets.

You need dual mode for that.
So, question. Should I just get rid of all my pedals besides dirt pedals?
I did this. Boss es-5 to run the switching between my 4 drives and compressor. Had three eventide pedals swapping them for an h90
Thanks.
You're welcome!
What if your going in stereo and out stereo?
I’m running a stereo insert with a delay and reverb pedal in the loop. Can I run into the pedal in stereo? I have an amp sim pedal that has a stereo out that I’m running into input 1 and 2 and one of the outputs that I’m running to a DI is not directing any signal.
It should work fine. I can't think why it wouldn't. Troubleshooting is tricky, but you need to work through your signal chain step by step.

is the h90 flexibility better than the line 6 helix lt?

Yes, it's possible. I didn't cover the stereo insert in great detail, but it's basically the same as the mono.
Hallo, may i put a distortion pedal into an insert?
Yes!
@@GuitarStuffChannel Cool! thanks!
