For me the biggest thing was changing the resolution in the launcher. 2k is not needed on a little screen, change to 1080p and you’ll easily get 600+fps

im so happy i found this video works really well i aint tryna sound like one of those bot comments but it really works the best video i perfer liking this video like i did and sub to this guy like i have a 2017 macbook air and i tried to get steady works well great job man at least he aint one of those ppl to take us to a link where its a scam and he doesnt talk that fast like the other ppl do like he talks like he actually like a normal person every tutorial should be like this
Hey if you (or anyone else) is reading this, use makeup shaders for m1. Getting 40-60 fps with them on medium settings and the game still looks perfect. Hugely recommend them.
THANK YOU SO MUCH BRO I have been trying to run shaders on my regular Mac book air and after installing iris I can run potato-low with shaders with relatively good performance now.
Great video thank you! I was able to get stock minecraft up to 256 fps. I plan on playing with shaders and texture packs, I was able to get a consistent 60fps with the Sildur's light shader pack for my m1 MacBook Pro
A suggestion is to use 1.19+ because anything older doesn't have a native ARM version. Running the game under Rosetta 2 severely impacts performance. I achieved over 1100 FPS on a M1 MacBook Air (base model) by using the right mods and the right version (1.21.1)
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. I recently got an m1 macbook and i wanna play games on it please do make more videos on gaming on the macbook. please make a video on brawlhalla or rocketleague
the problem with rocket league is that they dropped support for MacOS so you can only play singleplayer. You'd have to emulate windows to play online. I'll probably make a video on how to Emulate a Wii soon to play original nintendo games in 4k
I have the 2020 macbook which was the year before the M1 macbooks came out. Can you please make a video on how to run MC on those without them heating up so much?
1.8.9 , as far as I know, does not work well on arm processors. it would be better to run 1.19 and newer versions cause those are the ones that run natively on arm Macs.
My m2 air keeps getting hot after turning off a lot of settings plus no shaders giving 120 fps default resolution but still keeps getting hot after that pls reply😢
Bro just how you getting fps that low? By default mine was rock steady 120fps in retina. After sodium it went up to 500, and after shaders to 80-120 ish. It’s on apple silicon.
No it can’t it optimizes the rendering api and makes it not render things that are not on the screen it is called culling and it helps in reducing cpu gpu and memory
Although this is an older video, I'd like to mention one thing for anybody wondering. On the 1.8.9 segment of the video, turning on "Smooth FPS" under Video Settings -> Performance will actually lower your fps slightly but stabilize it. However, with a machine like the M1 Mac you wouldn't usually need this. If you're looking for the highest FPS achievable, do turn off Smooth FPS.
I have a new MacBook Pro m2 chip and literally it gets broiling hot when running ANY shader. If you listen closely it seems as tho you can hear his Mac’s cooling fan running at jet engine speed just like mine will do
OMG I never thought you would actually do it ! Thank you !
Very well explained with all the steps and all the comparisons, thanks for this great vid !
This tutorial is relatively old and it’s still very helpful for the newer versions. Tysm!

This helped so much. Thank you!
This does help a lot on laptops as the dpi is generally pretty high even at 1080p.
I did this but then the screen was zoomed in and everything was not aligned to what I was actually interacting with
How does this not have more views

24 fps with shaders is wild tho
Help, I pirated Minecraft and accidentally downloaded a malware that turned all of my icons into Tommy Lee Jones' face. What do?
It's too late for you I'm afraid
Turn down the quality of shader it still looks very good but my fps went from 25 to 68

I'm having a problem where whenever I use mods like iris&sodium and fabric I can see my mouse in-game, is there a fix for this?
will using sodium damage the cpu on my macbook?
I would like to know the answer to this question
No it can’t it optimizes the rendering api and makes it not render things that are not on the screen it is called culling and it helps in reducing cpu gpu and memory
Do any of these files could cause any bugs, viruses or harm to my Mac?
If I want to install mods, should I do a Fabric Install instead of the Iris Install?
Yeah, fabric is way more compatible. that or forge, if you don’t know what that is it’s basically just fabric but it’s used more

Does Skull Project work with 1.20? Ive installed it but it doest seem to have work or I don't see any difference
Skull Project is a 1.8.9 Launcher. For 1.20 you need to follow the later part of the video to install Iris and Sodium
They are 16x16 pixels watchu talkin about
Iris/sodium link won’t work, says can’t secure a connection. Any advice
