    I know this channel is not about history but when you talked about the pay I really had to smile. I was a loadmaster at Dover AFB in 1966. The base pay for an Airman 3rd class was $96 a month. I was really happy when I learned that flight pay was $50 a month. Wow! A 50 percent increase. While on my first mission to Vietnam I learned that combat pay was was another $50 a month. I was scared but getting rich! Then when I learned that I would get per diem when I ate in the Airman’s Club at Yakota instead of the chow hall I thought I had hit the jackpot! Man, those were the days my friend.

    My daughter will soon be trying to join the AF to become Loadmaster. As a mom, and a veteran of the Army, I have enjoyed watching your videos. From what I have seen of your earlier videos you seemed more quiet and less self confidence. But now, you seem to have come out of the shell and hold yourself up higher with confidence.
    My daughter is super shy and just like me I hope that when she joins she will build self confidence and pride. You are a lovely person and I am proud of you.

      How did you get this job? Did you just get lucky or did you wait?

      I was a special warfare candidate in development prior to being offered Loadmaster. It was 2nd or 3rd on my list, and due to life and priority changes I decided to go with being a load instead, when my recruiter offered it to me. So honestly, I just got lucky! @@ritger563

    Hello. Thank you for the videos and the information. I wanted to know if you had any information/advice on the kind of careers you could get in civilian life after being a loadmaster. What kind of jobs you could get after your time I’m the AF. Anything is appreciated. Thank you.

    You said youre in the air about 300 days out of the year? So if i go load master i wont see my wife at all? So its not the best for families?

    • @HBJ1029
      @HBJ1029 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Been a load for over 10 years and yes it is many days away from family. Is it possible, yes, will it be hard on the family, that is up to you. My suggestion is make sure your relationship is solid and make sure your significant other has a very I mean VERY good support system when you are gone.

    Y'all have a red line painted on the floor at the flightdeck bulkhead, anything to the rear of that line is you're aircraft, anything forward is the pilots. Haha

    Do you really use any of the math on the operational side? That's what I'm worried about the most.
