we think about it often since we came back to Calgary after were there September 21.
So peaceful and quiet. And the homes are so affordable.

For single retired person new to Spruce Grove it's not that great. There is nothing really to do or any place to go to, really. House prices are going up and very high property tax for very little services and house insurance is now sky rocketing due to the fires and hail. Water costs are high and you have to pay for your weekly garbage pickup. There's no public transit and sidewalks getting to a few stores that are here can be limited in some areas. The noise from the 2 hywys and especially the trains, police and fire trucks is louder the downtown Toronto at times. The landscape here is very flat and without the large concrete walls that block hywy noise like in Ontario.
The noise from the trains and hywy is loud and travels unrestricted. Most people here drive trucks with noise exhausts squeelling tires. Don't obey speed limits in they surveys or around parks and children play areas. There also is no downtown area to take a leisurely walk to and enjoy a bit of shopping and lunch. Spruce Grove is not that kind of place
Don't get me wrong, I love my house, but I had to make a fast house purchase and ended up here and most likely move in a few years. Some people are really nice here and some not so much.
Stoney Plain is by far more small town charming, and west Edmonton offers the most.
