This song rips my heart out every time. I lived this mans life. My daughters father took himself from us almost 5 years ago. I spent almost 15 years saving him over and over and just a couple years of my being in a different state... well... I wasn't able to save him. He left behind 2 children. One girl and one boy, they were six at the time and they loved them with all they had. It is so hard to lose someone you held together for so long.
Chris had a big fight with his record label. He didn't do music videos at all. All you can find on the internet are live recordings. He finally said yes, BUT, he would write the song and have input on the content and production of the video. Fire Away was the result. The woman in it suffered from manic depression, switching between being all happy go lucky to can't get out of bed depressed. He did this video to bring attention to the problem and to offer some resources to help people with this condition.
My daughter thinks y'all are gorgeous. Couldn't agree more. This song tears me apart. I aiffer severe depression it's rough and having a partner that doesn't give up on you is sometimes all that keeps ya going. Y'all's smiles make my day. Great reaction.

i got back together with my childhood sweetheart in my early 20's. she too was diagnosed with bn bi-polar and a manic depressive. as they get older it gets worse. the medication will work for a few months then its right back where u started. it gets to the point where you yourself start to think "maybe i have a mental illness too?" and with my experience it never got better except briefly with new medication. it got to the point where i had to decide if we (her, myself & the kids) were all gonna go down the rabbit hole, or i had to cut her loose to save the rest of us and so i cut her loose. last i heard she was a meth addict and sinking fast. but its the mental illness that is the reason. the drugs are just another way for them to try and cope. the sh!t the dr's were giving her weren't any different than the street drugs. its hell and it makes me weary of anyone that mentions depression or any other mental illness cuz it can completely change who they are, there personalities and everything. i stuck it out for over 10yrs. now i get to start worrying if the kids will have it when they get older

Sometimes there’s nothing you can do; doesn’t matter how hard you try. Sometimes folks are just so broken that all the love in the world won’t work. Not their fault, not yours, just life.
I have bi-polar2 disorder, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. This video made me look for the help I so desperately needed. I'm so happy that I'm in a better place now. It's a tough journey?? But I KNOW I'm gonna be ok. Thank God.
Been waiting for y’all to react to this. It’s a very powerful video. The song hints on not giving up on a tough relationship but the video really impacts more.
Glad you're enjoying Chris Stapleton too. I have like all types of music, but Chris just has that voice that brings that something something to a song. Check out a very young Chris on a Writer's Cruise in 2005? "Fool Me Again" "Barely Alive" live "Tennessee Whiskey" and "I Was Wrong" live at Austin City Limits The live performances are SO good.

Loving someone who is suicidal and manic, while you are someone who helps and saves people every day, can't help the one you love. There is a back story interview about it. Love the Chris Stapleton reactions ladies!

I have the best support system that have been there through it all, diagnosed at 17, I’m 55 now! The suicide ideation never goes away for me! The attempts are not attention seeking or a cry for help!
