One thing that I'd like to say about Raiden national is that because it's so easy to play it and get the results, when she first came out it was the first time I cleared the Abyss with 36*. While I didn't know why or how I got it done, I was so happy that I started getting more into the game's meta (that's when I found out that not only I wasn't the only one running Raiden national, but also that it was a very popular team). TL;DR: Raiden national being so easy to pilot was what got me to dive deeper into the game's mechanics because I realized that I actually really liked that. I don't know if that was only me, but I wanted to share this too.

I play her in Fischl-Yoi-Dori-Chev overload meme which is both hilarious and fun, and also one of the few meme teams able to kill each type of the annoying new elemental angel wayob manifestations easily lol.
The only thing I’m sad about is I was dead set on skipping 5.0 banners completely, but I really want Chevreuse and am sitting at 60 wishes into hard pity (didnt get Arlechino last time I actively played). I got around 120 wishes from catching up on zones I missed but I want Xilonen and Mavuika, and don’t want to miss Arlechino or Furinas banners. So I guess this is still a skip and I hope Chevreuse comes back around on either Mavuika or Arlechinos banner!

Same boat, on a guarantee but I weigh xilonen and Chevy on a scale and it becomes clear I'd rather have another universal buffer, that can very well work in ol teams too than a buffer that only works in ol teams. Chevy is good and I'd love to have her but not enough to ruin my chances of getting xilonen.
I'm on a 5050, mainly want to get C6 for my c0 chev, planning to summon on raiden, if I lose its fine that'll just get me guarantee for the next character I want, mainly hoping I just get 6 chevs🤞🏽😭
I pulled Raiden on her last rerun to test out teams like rational and hyper, but I also wanted to compare her against Kuki in my preferred hyperbloom team (Nahida, Yelan, Xingqiu). Yes, Raiden hits faster, BUT she misses seeds sometimes, especially in AOE. Kuki will never miss a seed, and she has a constellation that increases her E range + another for E duration. Also, Raiden's "better range" doesn't matter if your dendro(s) and hydro(s) can't hit the enemy anyway. If you're fighting an enemy that moves a lot, Raiden will prioritize the enemy over seeds, so worst case no hyperblooms for you. I am so tired of people saying Raiden > Kuki in terms of damage; this is not true. For mobile enemies and AOE, Kuki is just better and that's not even counting the healing.
I feel the same, I will always prefer kuki to raiden in hyperbloom, the healing is just perfect for teambuilding, and when there are multiple enemies it's easier to secure hitting all the seeds with Kuki
The more I look at his kit the more I realize his kit is just a Dendro version of Navia's with movement. He also has some of the coolest visual effects in the game imo.
feels more like Clorinde to me since you're just spamming Normals until a meter is full and then shooting. And using your burst during your skill window (though unlike Clorinde, Kinich doesn't lose any skill uptime and actually gains slightly more meter for doing so). Except he spins in circles instead of dashing through enemies periodically. And his meter gain is less predicible compared N3+E (even though in a burning/burgeon, it does end up being roughly that).
@@ZanathKariashi I say Navia because the main mechanic is to attack with weaker infused attacks and triggering specific reactions to build up to the powerful bit hit, and their ults are similar.
I feel like you were a bit harsh about the engulfing 😭 It's a good universal weapon among Polearms we have imo, Raiden, Xiangling, rosaria, Shenhe and potentially more characters.
His signature having that much attack and low CR (instead of low attack and high CritDMG), to me means that there is diminishing returns in getting an attack buff from Bennet and maybe they plan to powercreep bennet with the release of Mavuika for Kinich team
I kinda want him to give Sac weapon series more credit. I get that it's just about recasting E skill and fav's white particles are more valuable than element specific particles. But when you are in a team where the DPS is the same element as the Sac weapon holder in your party, your ER problems are instantly solved.
Chevy being locked to Raiden sucks so much. I have 60 pity with guaranteed. I don’t want C1 Raiden or Kinich but I know if I skip her I will see Chevy only in another Raiden rerun 6 months later…

Very happy about Chevreuse on Kinich. My most wanted 4* constellations on a character I'd be happy to get C1 on (nice dps increase but also overworld movement speed on the same C1 is quite nice). Here's hoping I get the Chev cons early to save primos, but wouldn't mind going deep either.

Raiden E also buffs the elemental bursts, Yelan and Xingqiu get like 20% dmg bonus from it. This + her trigger improve my abyss time by ~15% so its an upgrade over Kuki, but i still use Kuki because i dont like not having a healer. Her Rational team is also very good, its not the best times but its close enough that you can 100% use her, i just have too many characters so i dont use her that much.
as a raiden main who's going for kinich i'm really happy about this banner. i might be able to finally c6 my sara, get some chevreuse copies AND no matter which banner weapon i'll get i'm winning
Amazing banner for me. Desperately need Thoma's energy con, and Chevreuse cons would be fine (got lucky sniping a Chev the last Raiden rerun). Sasuke/Naruto 5-star is also welcome, so everything is aligned perfectly.

The Xiangling glazing with Engulfing Lightning. Everything he said about Engulfing on Xiangling can apply to Raiden too. Conversely why get Engulfing for Xiangling when you can use the Catch on her too.
I pulled engulfing for xiangling back in the days and I don't regret it 1 bit, However him saying it's good ER for Thoma is crazy when Kitain spear is free to R5 ahah
You forgot to mention, with engulfing Lightning you can overcap ER and not lose damage. My 260% ER raiden has the same damage as if she had an attack sands as per the simulator, never is out of ER and the team she plays with needs a bit less energy.

This banner is good for me. 3 characters that I don't have C6, so cons aren't a complete waste. And if I get Kinich in a 50/50 I won't be mad about it. Thoma and Sarah I need 1 of each for C6 and I don't have any cons for Chev. And I can set myself up in a good position to pull the roller skating girl.
They'd rather tie chevreuse to raiden instead of arlecchino or clorinde, despite being a character released in fontaine version Sure, she works very well with raiden. But so does arlecchino. Raiden may not be the worst character they can tie chevreuse to, but she ain't the best either Personally I wouldn't really recommend people to pull for either of the 5 star unless you like them> If you're an old player sure whatever suits you, but if you're a new player it's better to save it for newer and better characters. That's not to say that kinich is bad, it's more like he ain't it. Like you know? Not the one character that you should absolutely go for if value is what you care about. Especially when they obviously have a character that is 100% gonna be good coming soon (like the archon for example) So if you have more than enough spare primo sure go with whoever you like. But if you don't and you care about value a lot, it's better to skip this patch. Maybe throw 10~20 pull and hope you get chevreuse (or bennett if you are new), but that's all I'll recommend. I suggest don't go any further than that
And he's dendro, when means he'll run 3-4 times before the Natlan patch ends, as dendro 5* characters do...apparently. Though you better not miss Citali, since they don't get a re-run till Khanriah.
Super happy with this banner as a Kinich puller for the same reasons you are being I also don’t have maxed cons on Sara and no Chevy at all. I’m close to pity with a guarantee but I may pull a bit further to get Chevy for the collection. Not too concerned because I’ll either build pity, get a Kinich con, or get a guarantee from an off banner which are all fine results. Not planning on his signature because it’s gonna do nothing for hyperbloom/spread theaters, so I’d rather wait and see what the archon’s packing or wait for another Chronicled banner to get a 4th Beacon because it’s funny.
These past few four-stars -- Kachina, Sethos, and Chereuse -- I have no constellations for, and I still need a Sara and a couple Thoma to finish them off, so I am up and willing to risk getting Spider-Xiao in the chase. But, might also hold off soon in to see what the next patch brings, and whether Chevreuse might get the Honkai: Star Rail treatment of sequential patches of rate-up.
Personally, i truly had to pause and think as mostly F2P (3 welkins in 2 years) because i have none of the characters on this banner, so it's a good opportunity to get cons for everyone at once. I was contemplating getting Raiden with a couple Thoma and Chev if I'm lucky, to complete my archon collection, my elemental shielder collection, and get that shiny new support everyone is hyping up. It looks particularly enticing after the terrible 4* lineups on every banner I had to pull for earlier this year lmao. After further examination, I'm realising it's just the usual gacha FOMO picking at me. I remembered I swore not to fall for pressure to C6 a new 4* again after I lucked out with getting my C6 Faruzan pretty quickly and I still have a ton of older characters that I haven't built yet. My meager savings should definitely NOT be wasted on extending that queue with characters I would pretty much only be getting for the sake of Imaginarium Theater restrictions if I'm being entirely honest. I do already have 3 strong teams and can put together a couple more ones when I get enough artefacts, I do not need every single archetype in the live service videogame. In the end the core rule remains that we should NOT pull if we don't feel like we have an actual good reason to want the 5*. Future me is gonna be glad I held my ground now when she'll have all the primos in the world to pull on a banner she'll actually enjoy :) And man am I grateful to have enough willpower to be able to play the genshin impact (continuously my favourite game) without losing my mind to the psychological tricks it relies on, because it does take active resistance to plan and actually stick to said plan.
I am very disappointed Chevreuse, who I and just about everyone else do not have, is rerunning with five stars I don't want. Holding out hope she'll be on Mavuika banner, I might do a ten pull on this one but can't afford much more than that with Xilonen coming up next patch
When MHY designs a DPS that wants to be agile and move around the field but still has to stay in bennet circle because he is broken and every Atk scaler is balanced around him smh.
I'm happy with these banners because I want Kinich and don't have Chevreuse plus only have Thoma C1. Don't care that much for Sara (like her, just not so much her kit) but overall this is a great banner for me. Already have Raiden and The Catch so don't particularly care about her weapon, but if I get it while pulling for Kinich's weapon I won't be mad. At least it has its uses. Imo these are better banners for newer players than older ones, but then again you have players like me who only have C1 Thoma and C3 Sara and don't have a million copies of the 4 star weapons, so they're still useful.

To anyone interested I highly recommend trying out arle fishl yae chevy team it’s been one of my favorites for a while now. Absolutely destroys some of the local legends too bc of all the overloads knocking them around
I did get c2/r1 raiden years ago so she still competes with the big damage teams, but yeah, on today’s economy you could’ve gotten two signatures and two C1s on a fontaine character instead and have _two_ big damage teams instead of just one, they shitties kind of power creep imho. I still consider c3 but mostly as an excuse to get chev cons as c6 lets me free kazuha but then again, now with Xilo i just get the same buff on a guarantee…
Engulfing lightning is a weapon you should consider if you are veteran player and done your home work on the damage department. The +30% ER passive is huge to reduce time you need to reset abyss due to enemy dies before 5s after your raiden burst. If you know you know.
About Raiden, I don't know if he mentioned that post Raiden section, technically she also buffs her party members elemental burst damage on top of just off-field electro
I really like the character banner, i don't have c6 for any of the 4-stars so hopefully i'll get a few of them up to c6, and the characters range from usable to pretty good so that's nice since i'm going for Kinich anyway.
Got my c6 chevy i wanted done at the cost of a 5star pull / pity reset... Went on kinich banner who i never wanted to pull/play cuz c1 raiden is a nope (and wouldnt go for c2). And I lost the 5050 to dehya, so i got xilonen guarantee. First time i was glad to lose a 5050

Just out of curiosity, how good would a sacrificial spear be for Thoma? The spear is the only weapon type that doesn’t have a sacrificial version and I think it would be really good. If Thoma could use his skill twice, it would give him more energy and his shield would have twice as much initial health. His other alternatives are Kitain and Fav lance, but fav lance isn’t necessarily that great on him since he usually doesn’t build crit and can struggle to proc the passive.
Nope. Sara is fantastic with everyone. And on top of that, Sara is really good with not just Ei, it also Clorinde. In particular TF Clorinde. The duration of Sara's buff is just a hairs shorter than Clorinde's skill duration. And on top of that: Zero circle impact Zero ER issues if you're just looking for the buff If you manage to get C2, she gets SIGNIFICANTLY easier to play Ult that actually does damage coz you can build her for some burst damage too lol And like you mentioned C6 is of course full power shenanigans Feels like we're stuck in 2021 here lol
I'm pulling on these banners just to get a Chevy. I did not pull last time around. Who would have thought they tied a dual element support to a 5 star.
The problem is burning doesn’t work well for her. The dendro support options don’t really provide anything for her over other units, and because you want to trigger crystallize as much as possible you’re sacrificing either Bennett or a second geo without an upside. She doesn’t benefit from Nahida’s EM buff unlike burn vape/melt teams, which makes losing a lot of Nahida’s personal damage more significant. Without Nahida, you need Xiangling who’s gonna struggle without Bennett. With both, you’re basically locked to Emilie without a second geo to even make it worth it. Navia has so many options there isn’t even justification for running a burning team to free up units for 2nd side either.
Raiden is such a weird character nowadays. I have her c2 on my main account and use her pretty heavily in the abyss with her hyper team. Then I have her c1 on my second account and almost never use her. It really depends on what other characters and teams you have whether she’s a good pull or not. Still, I’ll be going for c3 on my main account and hopefully getting more Chevy constellations 😎

Very happy about Chevreuse on Kinich. My most wanted 4* constellations on a character I'd be happy to get C1 on (nice dps increase but also overworld movement speed on the same C1 is quite nice). Here's hoping I get the Chev cons early to save primos, but wouldn't mind going deep either.

Raiden E also buffs the elemental bursts, Yelan and Xingqiu get like 20% dmg bonus from it.
This + her trigger improve my abyss time by ~15% so its an upgrade over Kuki, but i still use Kuki because i dont like not having a healer.
Her Rational team is also very good, its not the best times but its close enough that you can 100% use her, i just have too many characters so i dont use her that much.
as a raiden main who's going for kinich i'm really happy about this banner. i might be able to finally c6 my sara, get some chevreuse copies AND no matter which banner weapon i'll get i'm winning

The Xiangling glazing with Engulfing Lightning. Everything he said about Engulfing on Xiangling can apply to Raiden too. Conversely why get Engulfing for Xiangling when you can use the Catch on her too.
I thought he was going to say the real reason to get Engulfing is so that Raiden can give XL back The Catch, but he went in a weird direction.

You forgot to mention, with engulfing Lightning you can overcap ER and not lose damage. My 260% ER raiden has the same damage as if she had an attack sands as per the simulator, never is out of ER and the team she plays with needs a bit less energy.

This banner is good for me. 3 characters that I don't have C6, so cons aren't a complete waste. And if I get Kinich in a 50/50 I won't be mad about it. Thoma and Sarah I need 1 of each for C6 and I don't have any cons for Chev. And I can set myself up in a good position to pull the roller skating girl.

Sure, she works very well with raiden. But so does arlecchino. Raiden may not be the worst character they can tie chevreuse to, but she ain't the best either
Personally I wouldn't really recommend people to pull for either of the 5 star unless you like them> If you're an old player sure whatever suits you, but if you're a new player it's better to save it for newer and better characters. That's not to say that kinich is bad, it's more like he ain't it. Like you know? Not the one character that you should absolutely go for if value is what you care about. Especially when they obviously have a character that is 100% gonna be good coming soon (like the archon for example)
So if you have more than enough spare primo sure go with whoever you like. But if you don't and you care about value a lot, it's better to skip this patch. Maybe throw 10~20 pull and hope you get chevreuse (or bennett if you are new), but that's all I'll recommend. I suggest don't go any further than that
And he's dendro, when means he'll run 3-4 times before the Natlan patch ends, as dendro 5* characters do...apparently.
Though you better not miss Citali, since they don't get a re-run till Khanriah.

Super happy with this banner as a Kinich puller for the same reasons you are being I also don’t have maxed cons on Sara and no Chevy at all. I’m close to pity with a guarantee but I may pull a bit further to get Chevy for the collection. Not too concerned because I’ll either build pity, get a Kinich con, or get a guarantee from an off banner which are all fine results. Not planning on his signature because it’s gonna do nothing for hyperbloom/spread theaters, so I’d rather wait and see what the archon’s packing or wait for another Chronicled banner to get a 4th Beacon because it’s funny.
These past few four-stars -- Kachina, Sethos, and Chereuse -- I have no constellations for, and I still need a Sara and a couple Thoma to finish them off, so I am up and willing to risk getting Spider-Xiao in the chase. But, might also hold off soon in to see what the next patch brings, and whether Chevreuse might get the Honkai: Star Rail treatment of sequential patches of rate-up.
Personally, i truly had to pause and think as mostly F2P (3 welkins in 2 years) because i have none of the characters on this banner, so it's a good opportunity to get cons for everyone at once. I was contemplating getting Raiden with a couple Thoma and Chev if I'm lucky, to complete my archon collection, my elemental shielder collection, and get that shiny new support everyone is hyping up. It looks particularly enticing after the terrible 4* lineups on every banner I had to pull for earlier this year lmao. After further examination, I'm realising it's just the usual gacha FOMO picking at me. I remembered I swore not to fall for pressure to C6 a new 4* again after I lucked out with getting my C6 Faruzan pretty quickly and I still have a ton of older characters that I haven't built yet. My meager savings should definitely NOT be wasted on extending that queue with characters I would pretty much only be getting for the sake of Imaginarium Theater restrictions if I'm being entirely honest. I do already have 3 strong teams and can put together a couple more ones when I get enough artefacts, I do not need every single archetype in the live service videogame. In the end the core rule remains that we should NOT pull if we don't feel like we have an actual good reason to want the 5*.
Future me is gonna be glad I held my ground now when she'll have all the primos in the world to pull on a banner she'll actually enjoy :)
And man am I grateful to have enough willpower to be able to play the genshin impact (continuously my favourite game) without losing my mind to the psychological tricks it relies on, because it does take active resistance to plan and actually stick to said plan.
I am very disappointed Chevreuse, who I and just about everyone else do not have, is rerunning with five stars I don't want. Holding out hope she'll be on Mavuika banner, I might do a ten pull on this one but can't afford much more than that with Xilonen coming up next patch
When MHY designs a DPS that wants to be agile and move around the field but still has to stay in bennet circle because he is broken and every Atk scaler is balanced around him smh.
I'm happy with these banners because I want Kinich and don't have Chevreuse plus only have Thoma C1. Don't care that much for Sara (like her, just not so much her kit) but overall this is a great banner for me. Already have Raiden and The Catch so don't particularly care about her weapon, but if I get it while pulling for Kinich's weapon I won't be mad. At least it has its uses.
Imo these are better banners for newer players than older ones, but then again you have players like me who only have C1 Thoma and C3 Sara and don't have a million copies of the 4 star weapons, so they're still useful.

To anyone interested I highly recommend trying out arle fishl yae chevy team it’s been one of my favorites for a while now. Absolutely destroys some of the local legends too bc of all the overloads knocking them around
I did get c2/r1 raiden years ago so she still competes with the big damage teams, but yeah, on today’s economy you could’ve gotten two signatures and two C1s on a fontaine character instead and have _two_ big damage teams instead of just one, they shitties kind of power creep imho.
I still consider c3 but mostly as an excuse to get chev cons as c6 lets me free kazuha but then again, now with Xilo i just get the same buff on a guarantee…

Engulfing lightning is a weapon you should consider if you are veteran player and done your home work on the damage department.
The +30% ER passive is huge to reduce time you need to reset abyss due to enemy dies before 5s after your raiden burst. If you know you know.

I don't care if it's a small damage increase for Raiden I'm pulling Engulfing Lighting for the *_drip_*
About Raiden, I don't know if he mentioned that post Raiden section, technically she also buffs her party members elemental burst damage on top of just off-field electro

I really like the character banner, i don't have c6 for any of the 4-stars so hopefully i'll get a few of them up to c6, and the characters range from usable to pretty good so that's nice since i'm going for Kinich anyway.
Got my c6 chevy i wanted done at the cost of a 5star pull / pity reset... Went on kinich banner who i never wanted to pull/play cuz c1 raiden is a nope (and wouldnt go for c2). And I lost the 5050 to dehya, so i got xilonen guarantee. First time i was glad to lose a 5050
i only have 3 r5 fav lance and i wish i had 4. i swear all the supports need fav

Just out of curiosity, how good would a sacrificial spear be for Thoma? The spear is the only weapon type that doesn’t have a sacrificial version and I think it would be really good. If Thoma could use his skill twice, it would give him more energy and his shield would have twice as much initial health. His other alternatives are Kitain and Fav lance, but fav lance isn’t necessarily that great on him since he usually doesn’t build crit and can struggle to proc the passive.

Nope. Sara is fantastic with everyone. And on top of that, Sara is really good with not just Ei, it also Clorinde. In particular TF Clorinde.
The duration of Sara's buff is just a hairs shorter than Clorinde's skill duration. And on top of that:
Zero circle impact
Zero ER issues if you're just looking for the buff
If you manage to get C2, she gets SIGNIFICANTLY easier to play
Ult that actually does damage coz you can build her for some burst damage too lol

I could see Kinich's weapon working well with Navia in Burning Teams.
The problem is burning doesn’t work well for her. The dendro support options don’t really provide anything for her over other units, and because you want to trigger crystallize as much as possible you’re sacrificing either Bennett or a second geo without an upside. She doesn’t benefit from Nahida’s EM buff unlike burn vape/melt teams, which makes losing a lot of Nahida’s personal damage more significant. Without Nahida, you need Xiangling who’s gonna struggle without Bennett. With both, you’re basically locked to Emilie without a second geo to even make it worth it. Navia has so many options there isn’t even justification for running a burning team to free up units for 2nd side either.

Raiden is such a weird character nowadays. I have her c2 on my main account and use her pretty heavily in the abyss with her hyper team. Then I have her c1 on my second account and almost never use her. It really depends on what other characters and teams you have whether she’s a good pull or not. Still, I’ll be going for c3 on my main account and hopefully getting more Chevy constellations 😎
