  • Kubota B7100 HST Homestead Mini Tractor Sub-Compact 4x4 is not exactly the best machine for spreading and leveling driveway gravel or stone (and I'm not exactly the best person for the job) but, my neighbor asked for help so me and this little tractor are going to do our best to make it happen.
The back blade doesn't really have enough weight to dig in and move a large amount of stone, and when it does, my wheels just spin in the gravel. Slow and steady wins the race though. We'll get it done.
Hope you enjoy the video! Any questions, comments, or concerns are greatly appreciated. I'll do my best to keep up with you, and to earn your likes and subscribes.

That is what the bucket is used for. A lot of wasted time using the back blade backwards. That's for smoothing it out. I have found just tipping the bucket down a little and in float does better.

Thank you for your input. I didn't really think about using the bucket.
The only other stone grading experience I have is from adding a few inches of 53s to an existing gravel pad so we could sit shipping containers on it. With that stuff (53s) the more you blade it like this, the more passes you make, the more it smooths out and locks together forming a hard surface. These #8's don't move the same as 53s and I did waste a lot of time (about 11 hours total).
But in the end, it was fun and the neighbor was happy.
      Appreciate you following. God bless.

Don´t rev the engine that high, when you only drive slowly anyway, lower engine RPM and use the hydro more. When I use my B7100 and slowly run around the yard I seldom need to rev above 15-1700 RPM. Well done! Cheers!

Same way you eat an elephant, one bite at a time.

Thank you for your comment! That's exactly how I approached this massive task - one blade at a time (across 2 videos)! The little sub-compact Kubota B7100 tractor definitely proved to be a hard-working and reliable partner in helping me spread all that stone. We appreciate your support and hope you continue to enjoy our content!

Put it on float and hang old tire on top for added weight

Thank you for your input. I do keep the blade on float, but the problem I had (shown in first video about this stone) is that when I do get a big bite of rock with the blade, the tractor can't pull it and spins the tires.
A 4' blade with added weight, would probably serve this tractor better than the 5' without weight that is on there. I think.
