Your bad. The Sony Xperia Z is a billion times better than some iPhone. I can name ovet 100 things that the sony xperia z can do but the iPhone can't.
I owned an iPhone 5S and honestly, it's so boring and repetitive. I finally grew out of it and bought an Xperia Z and could not be happier. It's done me better than any of the iPhones i've ever owned. I love the Android OS, much better than the iOS. Sony is ahead of its time with technology, if only people would actually do a little research, they'd be lining up in front of the Sony store for new phones and tablets rather than the Apple store.
You should of got the Z1 it's way better than the Z

You gotta admit that the Z's display is not really the best out there , as a matter of fact my HTC One X with a 720p actually looks better ( used them both ) , but then again even my One X display is better that iPhone's LOL
I will admit I didnt run around comparing displays, I saw the sony Z and I think it is great, so i got it, never been happier
this is not a fair review. I had iphone 5 and switch to xperia z and i can say there is a huge difference. In terms of performance and display xperia z is superior. You say that iphone 5 has the most accurate display? That is not true, 1080p, 441 ppi and bravia engine 2 is much better than the iphone. You are an Apple fanboy....

Xperia Z offers a much better experience overall than iPhone 5 , people who used both at least once will understand , for everyone else , well just don't talk about whether one is better than the other you clearly don't know much other than specs on paper
You can clearly see that this guy is a apple fanboy. compare the number of apps on both phones, hundreds on the IPhone and 2 on the z.

It's PERSONAL PREFERENCE! Yes, they are not customisable, don't have a massive computer / tablet screen...but it works fine. It's definitely the most beautiful phone out there, the only phone you can still fit in your pocket and people are impressed by it like they would be if you bought a Mercedes. Only a geeky guy with glasses would walk us to you and say, wow is that the "Samsung galaxy s4" or is that the Sony XPeria Z (Get what I'm saying).

I've had all the iPhones... I'm bored to death with them - so I'm buying a Sony Xperia z tomorrow. Way more interesting, bigger, faster and its waterproof... you can't beat that.
they aren't waterproof they could take a splash but not the being used in water. my galaxy s4 active was ruined due to using the underwater cam

Ever noticed how confused Apple user look every time they have forgotten their charger....quite fun to watch. I'm using an old HTC Wildfire charger for my Xperia Z. Xperia Z is anonymous, stylish and practical while the Iphone is the gimmicky and flashy, while being a loner who wont play with other then its own kind when it comes to software and hardware.
iphone5 was good,but the Z was better..

I love my experia z it's twice as fast as iPhone five bigger display water proof and the set up is amazing I use to love iPhones but I'm bored of there same old stuff android is the new age of phones

I think what he meant by "standard" was that the aspect ratio of the screen in Xperia Z is standard (1920 x 1080), compared to the strange number in iPhone 5....

It's low powered but it outperforms, period. Battery life, camera, speed. I have 30-40 apps open on my iPhone. Videos, streaming stock charts, Skype all seamlessly work when switching back and forth. In comparison, my Galaxy Note 2 has serious battery degradation when I have 10 apps open and it's a guess if I switch back to an app that's streaming if it either crashes, freezes, or actually works. So what were you saying about "basically paying...for an OS"? I would think we're paying for results
Display accuracy is a function of many factors, such as pixel density. All else equal, 1080p displays are more accurate than 720p displays as pixel density is higher. Currently full-HD displays have the highest pixel densities, with the HTC One currently having the highest.

Imho most accurate means that the colors, saturation, etc are the most accurate (it has nothing to do with the ppi), so the screen's picture is the most realistic (looks like real world).
He means in colour representation, the iPhones displays colours more acurately, where most android phones display oversaturated colours.
is he seriously complaning that Xperia Z is too big for his hands ? yes mention that it might be a problem but for me that is a plus since i have large hands and iPhone is a tiny bit small to me
Sony is amazing - that IPhone can’t compete
CPU power, GPU power, resolution, refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass (scratch resistant, too), customization, screen size, water and dust proof, cloud functionality, design (opinion), camera options, camera resolution, and expansion memory slot. That's off the top of my head. ;)
And again as I always say, if you want less saturation on Xperia Z, turn off Bravia Engine increases detail + sharpness, Bravia Engine (in this case Bravia Engine 2) is for more vibrancy of color and noise reduction. So to sum it all up with Xperia Z turning on and off Bravia Engine to the users comfort is the fact that they baked you the cake and yes you can eat it too.
The camera in the Sony looks alot like the iPhone camera but the Sony is much better. Sony is known for their cameras. I had a Sony camera a long time ago and I would still buy another. I had an iPhone 4S and sold it recently to get a used Xperia Z1S with a 20.7 MP camera. That was the best electronics decision I have made.
I like the covered ports on the Xperias. Sure the covers are known to break off but you can get them online. I have one on order from Hong Kong. It is not a genuine Sony part so I will check that it fits at least as well as the other ones that I still have. The one missing is for the USB port and that is probably one that is commonly missing/broken since that would get opened and closed alot. The Xperia will also remind you to close the cover if it detects it has been unplugged. That is nice because some people might assume that it is waterproof when open but I can see the light of the display through a small hole by the USB port and I would definitely want to close that up before I take it outside. I could use the magnetic charger instead (it is not inductive but attaches using a magnet) and I would not have that problem. I find it odd the magnetic charge port has exposed pins. They might be protected from shorts and other things but that is hard to say without contacting Sony or a knowledgeable sales person.

Sony made a mistake to put 3 different lcd panels in xperia z. Pretty much all reviews have the JDC 2 with 700:1 Contrast Ratio. Retail units should have the Sharp panel with 1000:1 ratio.
I'm more concerned about Internet connection. Is the Xperia Z able to identify Wi-Fi hotspots better than older versions of Xperia such as the Ion?

Yes, it is a personal preference - a reviewer should try though to be as objective as possible. I'm not advocating big screens - actually they don't do much for me. But this review does have a clear bias and does not properly address the faults of the iphone and the pros of the Xperia. Only a geek anyway would walk up to a total stranger and compliment them on the aesthetics of their phone, regardless of the brand.
but they are in roughly a £30 price range. Z does have better specs but you cannot really comment on 'power' when they use different operating systems that require different specs.
Yes, the video is ... almost entirely subjective. I own both. The screen is more than fine, and it doesn't stutter to a noticeable extent. The camera on the Z is quite a bit better in low/bright light. The built-in speaker on the iPhone is certainly better. One thing not mentioned is that the Z has NFC. The Japanese model of the Z also has 1seg TV. I use the Z much more than the iPhone because things like Skype run in the background well. The main disadvantage of the Z is battery life.

when you hold the phone firmly (portrait) the speaker is almost blocked by your hands palm, so the sound is muffled. and i just figured out some annoying things: data transfering from PC is slow because it's not recognized as a "drive" in PC instead of portable devices, the LED notification isn't working (can be fixed by factory reset though) and the phone gets hot fast while playing games or playing movies, other than that, i think there's no problem with the phone.

I don't understand why because this particular reviewer pointed out the flaws in the Sony Xperia Z he's all of a sudden an Apple fan boy. Grow up the lot of you. They are both good phones move on.
There are a lot of 1080p screens out there, be it on a phone or a TV. But pixel density alone is not a defining factor as to how good a screen is.
Display type, the glass, distance between the display and the glass, viewing angles, brightness, contrast ratio. Those, combined with pixel density, are what made up a good screen.
Educate yourself.

@pocketnowvideo ~ I agree with all of this review in regards to the Xperia Z (which is my daily driver) accept the stuttering thing. With OS navigation, I never see stuttering ... ever. I do see it from time to time in apps like G+, but that's arguably not the phones fault. I do own an iPhone 4S as well, and do understand where you are coming from in regards to the apps not stuttering on iOS as much, but like I said before... I find the OS functionality of Xperia Z to be stutter free.

Personally I prefer the iPhone 5. My brother has the Xperia and we switched, we both preferred the iPhone it was easy and looked so much better quality and build wise
I went for Xperia Z personally. I like HTC One but I don't like the UI and 4,7" screen. It's better for majority of people, I realy want that 5" screen.

It really takes an honest reviewer to say that dual core 1.2 of apple and quad 1.5 of sony are on pair when it comes to hardware. Xperia Z trumps iPhone 5

If you are seeing a crisper/sharper image on an iPhone over an Xperia Z, it's the "rose colored glass". 100 dpi or so advantage means crisper/sharper image. It's science.

I own an Xperia and i can assure you it doesn't stutter, fits perfectly in my hands, and is very nice to use. how you handled the Xperia reminds me of how people act in a snuggie commercial. Not to mention you completely skipped over the fact that the iPhone ISN'T waterproof or dust proof, or how the Xperia is shock resistant. you should stick to an iOS ONLY report, because you obvious can't look at anything honestly

I think I get it. Whatever the Xperia Z does better than the iPhone 5 is not needed or not cared about. Things like colors are more important (since the next iPhone might have that), right? Therefore, iPhone 5 is equal or better, right? That is artifically lowering the bar. It's the very definition of bias.
I'm an iPhone 5 user, and I still think XPERIA Z is the winner.
Actually Xperia Z has a 13mp camera. The iPhone 5 has an 8mp camera. The 5S is rumoured to have a 12mp camera.... Xperia wins.
