  • During the needle insertion, the AP and the ipsilateral oblique view is undoubtedly the primary guiding image for leading the needle direction.
    But I can choose a different guiding image for judging the needle depth, lateral or contralateral oblique image.
    The contralateral oblique image is faster and more precise.
    It is not easy to learn new anatomy in a moment. I will share the basic principles and c-arm anatomy in this video. I will give you enough practical clinical cases using a contralateral oblique image.

    Is your contralateral oblique angle usually 45-50 degrees for lumbar transforaminal cases?

      Usually the angle is about 15-20 degrees. but there is some individual variations.
