Yeah, me too. I do it more after seeing all the movies and knowing how things play out and the backstories. The first time you see it you don't know the reasons for many things, but after you know the reasons and then do a re-watch it hits you harder. This is not a spoiler, but I do the same thing when I watch The Harry Potter reunion and Robbie Coltrane's comment toward the end about Hagrid. Lots of emotions. I hope they watch the Harry Potter reunion as well as the Fantastic Beasts movies.
Probably because you've seen the movie many times but his emotions are new 😊 Be happy and proud to react, that means that your fully functioning human ❤
When Kylie asked about the possibility of Light transfer from inside the invisibility cloak. I was amazed, as I had never heard anyone, nor considered it a plausible question. So very good on Kylie, for pointing that out.
I am SO glad I randomly stumbled across this video. You absolutely have a new fan EAGER to watch all of these reactions on your patreon. Two amazing people, thank you so much for sharing your emotion and light with us
59 yr old mother & grandmother. I love the HP movies. I can't remember when I fell in love with them but I do know I am responsible for my grandchildren loving HP. I have all of them on DVD and watch them over & over again. All the best from the UK.
Oliver and Kylie. This is the first time finding your channel watching Harry Potter. I loved your discussion about your childhood and how Harry Potter influenced it so much as well as some of the history of this series. I think it’s so cool how Kylie is going into it blind getting to experience for the first time and her thoughts on some of the main characters. Last thing I’ll say is, really enjoyed your vibe you gave off. It felt so down-to-earth raw real and welcoming. Going to watch some more of your movie reactions. Look forward to watching more movies with you 🎥😊
Great reaction guys! I could sense Oliver's nostalgia--sometimes when the memories come back it hits you harder than the first time! I'm excited to see the rest of the series guys!
There were two big mistakes made in this movie. The first one was that Quirrel did not see himself holding the stone. He wanted the stone to get the elixir of life, so he saw himself holding the elixir of life, not the stone. That's why he couldn't get the stone and Harry could, because Harry only wanted the stone for the stone itself, and so saw himself holding it. The second, and bigger, big mistake was that Harry was not conscious when Quirrel died from touching him. Quirrel strangled Harry until Harry passed-out, then Quirrel turned to ashes from touching Harry. This is significant later on, because Harry hasn't yet seen anyone die at this point.
Hahaha I love how Kyle says “magic?” and Oliver gets so excited hehe. We’re all just as excited for Kyle to watch these amazing movies. I thought Oliver was going to be the first time watcher haha. I don’t know if it’s because when a couple watches HP for the first time it’s usually the guy who hasn’t seen it, or maybe it’s because I’m coming from the stranger things reactions. In any case it’s fun seeing the roles reversed. Also I know your channel is still a bit new but if you guys are ever looking to hire someone to help with editing I’d love to be considered! I have 2+ years experience editing for another reaction channel and I spend a lot of time watching TV/movie reaction videos so I’m very familiar with this type of content. Anyways I’m loving the ST and HP reactions and I’m excited to see more :)
I just started to watch these movies with my 9 year old. We've watched roughly one per week and he's turned into such a potter head, dressed as Harry for Halloween and demands a Potter theremd birtheday for next year. Just three months ago he was "Potter? Meh, those movies suck, I don't want to watch those lame movies". After the first movie he took a chopstick and ran around casting spells everywehre. He wants me to yell "where HAVE you been!" whenever he gets home from school. 😂😂 He got sorted into Ravenclaw just like me. I wish I could experience the joy and magic of watching these movies for the first time again.
I joined your channel when you started watching Stranger Things! I am a Hardcore Potterhead. I've read the books several times; over the years. So, I will definitely be enjoying this Harry Potter journey with you both!!! #Hufflepuff
I think the Dursleys didn't think to spoil Dudley until they got Harry (both children are the same age). They clearly wanted Dudley to feel superior to Harry an show how much their prioritized their own child to the spare they got on the doormat.
I feel you Oliver! I have seen these videos a million times, read the books probably about the same or more and these movies - particularly the last movie/book - never fails to make me sob! I also kind of think these three are such a good trio. I feel like they instantly fell into the friendship so well is that like...each of them is sort of an outcast in their own way and they gain strength from each other and build each other up. For instance...Hermione, having been born to a muggle family who did not expect a letter to tell her that she was to go to a wizard school - over compensates and dives head long into books and things because she feels like she has to prove she's good enough to be there and being in this new world, being around some others who grew up in that world. Ron having come from that world and from a Pure Blood family but is outcast in the way that they are not as well off as other pure blood families and has to deal with the burdens and experience the embarrassment that comes with not having a lot of funds. Then Harry being 'the Chosen One', and famous for something he doesn't even remember as he was only 15 months old when his parents were killed by Voldemort. They naturally kind of just clicked together. They do actually have fouls and such in Quidditch though they don't really show that in the movies.
Always tears me up now, everytime the start of this movie happens, I think the professor, hagrid and maggie are not with us anymore and snape. :( Rest in peace. I bet they are playing as wizard and warlocks up in heaven now :) having the best time.
Welcome to The Wizarding World rabbit hole that is Harry Potter. The best thing about the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone, to me is that the chambers following the third-floor corridor containing Fluffy each play to the strengths of Harry, Ron and Hermione. The Devil's Snare chamber caters to Hermione's knowledge of spells. (Even though she froze up out of fear in the book and had to be reminded that she was a witch by Ron) The room with the winged keys caters to Harry's skill with quidditch. And the chess room caters to Ron's knowledge of how to play chess. Side notes: The Sorting Hat chooses new students' houses based on their corresponding personality traits: Gryffindor-Bravery, helping others, and chivalry. Hufflepuff-Hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play. Ravenclaw-Intelligence, knowledge, and wit. Slytherin-Ambition, cunning and resourcefulness. Erised (The Mirror of Erised) is the word desire spelled backward. Hedwig is a snowy owl. They have ruffled wing feathers to silence their flight so prey animals don't hear them coming. They also have natural camouflage due to their coloration, and they're the only birds of prey who don't have bare feet due to their habitats, like the Arctic Tundra. At the time of the deaths of Lily and James Potter at the hands of Voldemort, Harry was only 15 months old.
Ngl u two are my favorite reactors and im definitely not trying to suck up or blow smoke i always tells it like it is wish yall the best of luck on success and I'll definitely check out the entire hp series and im also a king fan too
im only 10 min into the reaction and i had to stop and say We must protect Oliver by all cost ! my first time here and i love a good emotional reaction !
Love these movies and the books too. Looking forward to seeing the rest of these with you both. Thanks for sharing this one! Btw, WOT is pretty great too. 🤓
I always wanted to go on a deep dive regarding Petunia. I often wondered how she would have turned out if she hadn't married a man like Vernon. It seems like she would take a lot of cue's from her husband. She did raise Harry after all, bathed him, fed him, taught him to walk and talk and all the things helpless children need to live. He looked so much like a stranger (Assume She never met her brother-in-law) but Harry had her sister's eyes...and she was upset that her sister was dead. I wondered if she wanted to apologize or if she wanted her sister back, but now it was too late. I wonder how much of that she had to swallow back to toe the line that Vernon wanted. Maybe not, but I often wonder about the whole situation. Especially with the howler. Anyways, anyways....great reaction, you got a new sub from me. I'm excited to hear more conversations.
I think she's the main culprit in abusing Harry. She got angry when Vernon asked her about what's her sister's son's name in the very first chapter, he was hesitant to ask because Petunia didn't want her sister's name mentioned in the house and would get angry for being reminded of Lily's existence. So I think it's her fault for hating on magic and Harry and all three of them (including Dudley) being afraid of magic and wizards. If she was accepting and loving to Harry, Vernon would be accepting and nice too. It's just that Vernon shows his anger and fear differently, he's aggressive and yells, so we think he's the one who hated anything to do with wizards and Petunia just played along as to not contradict him, but it's the other way around. She was hateful and afraid, in her petty, passive-aggressive way so Vernon became too because he had no other source of informations about the wizarding world.
00:52 and 1:25 immediately sold it to me. The way you look at and treat each other is amazing. Seen many couple reactors, but you guys steal the show! Amazing chemistry. Only the best for you. I hate the Harry Potter books, but love the films since they have less Rowling in them and more from people who are actually educated and creative. Having someone experiencing them for the first time always makes for a great re-watch. Just got this one recommended and I'm in for the 8 parts.
If you two ever take a trip to Paris, you can have a delicious meal at Auberge de Nicholas Flamel. His actual house from the Middle Ages still stands and has been turned into a restaurant. Since the popularity of the books and movies, they have created a Harry Potter menu for children.
Now after watching this for the third millionth add reading the book for the 5th millionth time, I'm starting to wonder if originally Neville Longbottom was supposed to be part of the group. Hear me out the challenges in the movie and the book for the Sorcerer's Stone/ philosopher's stone each of the trapdoor challenges catered to an ability of Harry's group. The keys and the broom catered to Harry's abilities, wizard chess cater to Ron Weasley's abilities, in the book there was a riddle with potion viles, that would have catered to Hermione intelligence and abilities. There was also a troll which Dumbledore knew that Harry's group already knew how to take down. Devil's snare however was a herbology thing you found out was where Neville shined🤔
Well, in the end he got Harry to name his son after him. Odd choice for an abuse victim to name his son after one of his abusers, but not even in the top 10 odd things in that story, so why not?
They don't release the Golden Snitch for a bit, as it wouldn't be fun if the game was over in a minute or less. If you get a real tree read up on it cause if not you could cause a fire (not kidding). Why would you apologize to Snape? It isn't like he called Snape out to his face or to the school.
If not for being a first react, a read of the books first is always best, the movies are fair adaptations. Of course as the series goes on, though, more is left out due to the fact that they knew most viewers at time of release would've read the books and thus could omit knowledge/info under the assumption that viewers would already know or not need explanation. Plus, to miss out on JK's writing is a shame.
Ooh they say it difrent in US version. The book title is allso difrent so when they talk about it in the movie its the US version. Didn't know there were a difrence
I know! I remember when I read the books for the first time and they used the term “soccer” instead of football and I always figured the UK version had little differences -Oliver
I can't watch this movie anymore without thinking of the two huge parodies made of it - "Harry Potter and the Deathly Weapons" where they replaced all the wands with guns, and "Harry Potter and the Stone" a low-budget shot-for-shot entire remake. They're both hilarious.
"Harry Potter and the Stone" may be low budget, but wow is it a piece of art. I like how it starts as (almost) a line by line remake and at the end it just losely resembles the original.
Oliver: Your love of the series mirrors mine although I read them as an adult end not a child on the recommendation of students I taught in my English class. Kylie: You're doing a loving thing to take this journey with Oliver. Regarding your ending comments: 1. Rowling plotted the entire series in great detail BEFORE she wrote the first book. 2. Books should NEVER be burned. Disagreement with the author is no reason to blame a book. I have in my library books whose content I disagree with but I would never burn them, maybe give away if they have nothing to offer me in terms of knowledge, insight, or entertainment. Some of our great literature was written by people we now know were racist or misogynistic or worse.
Oh, interesting. I feel like I've seen tons of spoilery things in comments, but I wonder if it's just what I consider spoilers. I feel like when people say X movie most people's favorite or hint at a character's arc, it's spoilery even though it isn't a direct spoiler because it sets people up to have expectations about certain movies or characters moving forward. I guess people often seem to be able to hold off from direct plot spoilers, but I do often see a ton of hinting regarding character development and things like that.
Like you two as reactors but the film was so cut up and choppy, jumping here and there all over the place, a split second of Snape just standing by Harry’s chair before his first quidditch match, with no dialogue?
I'm approaching 50 so I didn't grow up with the books. But I have read the entire series again and again more than any other books ever. I have issues with the movies. All that said it was really wonderful to watch a fan feel the emotions that only really come when you know the whole story. I don't want to give anything away in the form of spoilers. So will just say that A.S.P. was named for the bravest man ever, who I to my shame hated for many years.
44:41 Sorry, but a lot of this from here on is simply not true... Sales for Harry Potter are not at 600 million. Pottermore reported 500 million sales in mid 2018 with just below 600 million of all her work combined, and besides the Goblet of Fire who received a "Hugo", none of her books have ever won an award of professional recognition, only stuff like best seller lists. On a side note, Rowling's adult audience crime series "Cormoran Strikes" came out when she was already famous, targets the larger adult market, but has sold only 20 million copies worldwide. For comparison: Crime novel legend Agatha Christie has sold over 2 billion copies and they don't even have a coherent story to get you hooked for the next one each time. Rowling definitely was never richer than the Queen. Rowling is a billionaire at 1.1 million GBP today, which is still impressive, but the British "Crown Estate" alone has holdings around 8 billion GBP not including the land property like buildings, palaces, or the Dutchy of Lancaster and of Cornwall. One could argue that the value of the Wizarding World IP and franchise is valued around 25 billion USD, but that is mainly held by Warner Bros and only partially by Rowling, being included in her 1.1 GBP net worth. Rowling had far from a "rough life". She was in an abusive relationship indeed, but all in all came from a fairly well situated household. While she was on welfare at one time, she had friends who paid her rent. She might not have lived the high live after quitting her job, but she always had a roof over her head (with heating, since somehow people started telling that she couldn't afford heating at that time) and could eat and did fine generally. Just not great. There are people who would simply call that "living", but of course it makes for a great origin story to promote oneself... As always with "philanthropic" billionaires, they don't just give money to some charirty, they give it to a trust or fund or grant they set up, so they keep control of the money but evade taxes, then use that to buy influence and polish their public image, and also still for personal expanses. And now her private wealth is back at 1.1 billion GPB anyway... Yeah, I skip her political views here, but whether you agree or disagree with her: They have always been present in the books and no one should have been surprised. When Rowling started including "wizard world politics" in book 4 and onwards, it was clear how uneducated and narrow-minded Rowling is and that she doesn't really has insightful stuff to say about anything, and also is quite ignorant about that. Steve Kloves, the screen writer for the films, toned all of it down A LOT, especially cut out the whole house elves slavery stuff that Rowling - for some reason - wanted to include by all means. Glad you finally got around to good fantasy novels like Wheel of Time. It's a more than honourable choice for a favourite book series. Not only offers it a lot of material, but it might have the greatest magic system in all of fantasy. In short, it has all that Harry Potter lacks: Characters with characteristics, charachter arcs, setups and payoffs, authors with an actual working brain, a thought out magic system, great language, originality, etc. But then again, almost every fantasy book series besides Harry Potter offers that. That is - the books. The films, on the other hand, improve on Rowling's lack of skill in every way, and also have great acting and cinematography. Of course they can't make up for the major flaws in the story itself, but contrary to the books they are really enjoyable and even got me to like the characters that are just insufferable in the books.

While at the same time it seems you two talk way too much over important dialogue You need to learn to talk when there is no important dialogue
why did i tear up more from Oliver’s emotions than the actual movie? 🥺☺️
Empathy. I suffer from that affliction too.
@ 😅
Yeah, me too. I do it more after seeing all the movies and knowing how things play out and the backstories. The first time you see it you don't know the reasons for many things, but after you know the reasons and then do a re-watch it hits you harder. Loved it! And dressed nice as well, great reaction from this pair.
Probably because you've seen the movie many times but his emotions are new 😊
Be happy and proud to react, that means that your fully functioning human ❤
I always cry when Neville gets 10 points; knowing what's to come. He is such a hero.
Careful! No spoilers please.
It's the most kid-friendly, yet we have a guy being completely disintegrated, rather slowly, ON SCREEN.
Pure nostalgia.
When Kylie asked about the possibility of Light transfer from inside the invisibility cloak. I was amazed, as I had never heard anyone, nor considered it a plausible question. So very good on Kylie, for pointing that out.

That moment when you're convinced that you're a secret wizard and even what house fits yourself perfectly.
Hermione’s buck teeth in the last scene 😂 Their one and only appearance.
Oliver and Kylie. This is the first time finding your channel watching Harry Potter. I hope she takes her wizarding tests and shows us her house, wand and patronus!
You two are definitely both Ravenclaws! I too feel great emotion no matter how many times I watch these movies. Glad I found this channel!
Great reaction guys! I could sense Oliver's nostalgia--sometimes when the memories come back it hits you harder than the first time! I'm excited to see the rest of the series guys!

i SINCERELY enjoyed this reaction - I can't wait to see the rest of them.
@4:16 We hear about Marge. I never noticed until watching this again after 'later' films.
Proud Hufflepuff here. I enjoyed this reaction a lot. ❤ I look forward to the next one!
Proud Hufflepuff here too!
You two are really cute and I enjoyed the reaction. And I've seen most of them out there😅 looking forward to following you along this journey
Welcome to the world of wizards Kylie. Great reaction guys Plenty of more potter to go
Wow I'm literally doing a marathon with my friend tomorrow who's never seen them before

Hufflepuff-Hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play.

im only 10 min into the reaction and i had to stop and say
We must protect Oliver by all cost !

Fun fact: Draco is a distant relative of Harry,Neville Ron and his siblings
Love these movies and the books too. Looking forward to seeing the rest of these with you both. Thanks for sharing this one! Btw, WOT is pretty great too. 🤓

Alright. I guess I’ll be riding this one out with you guys the next couple months 😂🤙
"Emotional wreck"
That's relatable to be fair.

Oliver, I'm reminded of that line from Starship Troopers: "You don't deserve that."
Technically she was right. Slytherin were cheating since in the book they got a lit of penalties for the crap they pulled during the Quidditch match.
new subscriber :)
love these movies
i watch them every time they do a marathon its the only movie i watch when it comes on :P
I'm a Ravenclaw too! 🦅🟦🥉
Oliver, you were born in 1996. At this time, records of young wizards were deleted. Maybe we were both part of that. ;) Never stop dreaming!
I have the first printing first state of the UK paperbook. It's my favorite book in my tiny collection.
Definitely gotta subscribe after this. Can't wait to see how hard the others hit him 💀
„Are they dead?“ „Yes?“ „The Ghosts?“
Great reaction 🥹

Snape is a bully. To children. He didn't deserve an apology in this movie.
Well, in the end he got Harry to name his son after him. Odd choice for an abuse victim to name his son after one of his abusers, but not even in the top 10 odd things in that story, so why not?
haha i was waiting for the letter too when i was 11
Oliver is so excited 😆... looking great in the shirt and tie 👔 I love these movies 😍 so much! Kylie will enjoy these 😍
Liked! Gotta support a fellow Ravenclaw. Also, you don't have to apologize for crying. ✨🦅📚🎨
The first two movies build the Wizarding World.
Do a Book discussion.. Specially LAST TWO BOOKS 📚📚. Watching from Northeast India..
Dude. Why are you guys so cute? That's illegal.
I like how real Ollie is and Kylie is attentive and clever
6:49 got my subscription lol
They don't release the Golden Snitch for a bit, as it wouldn't be fun if the game was over in a minute or less.
If you get a real tree read up on it cause if not you could cause a fire (not kidding).
Why would you apologize to Snape? It isn't like he called Snape out to his face or to the school.
Oliver, have you given some thought about the Tarzan movie we were talking about?
Great 😊
If not for being a first react, a read of the books first is always best, the movies are fair adaptations. Of course as the series goes on, though, more is left out due to the fact that they knew most viewers at time of release would've read the books and thus could omit knowledge/info under the assumption that viewers would already know or not need explanation.
Plus, to miss out on JK's writing is a shame.
"Does he have a rat??" 😈
Why does Oliver hate Christmas trees lol
Is Oliver okay? Are there just a lot of memories associated with this movie?
Ooh they say it difrent in US version. The book title is allso difrent so when they talk about it in the movie its the US version. Didn't know there were a difrence
I know! I remember when I read the books for the first time and they used the term “soccer” instead of football and I always figured the UK version had little differences -Oliver
I loved eragon too but the movie did it dirty. It was so bad
'ive never been so excited". dude i wouldnt say that in front of my smokin hot gf lol
🤦😅
Let me wager a guess - Kylie is either a Ravenclaw or a Slytherin!
*no disrespect*
I can't wait for the others to drop!
Greetings from germany
Me and Kylie are both ravenclaws for sure 😏
I can't watch this movie anymore without thinking of the two huge parodies made of it - "Harry Potter and the Deathly Weapons" where they replaced all the wands with guns, and "Harry Potter and the Stone" a low-budget shot-for-shot entire remake. They're both hilarious.
"Harry Potter and the Stone" may be low budget, but wow is it a piece of art. I like how it starts as (almost) a line by line remake and at the end it just losely resembles the original.
Hello, how's it going?
kinda weird you both have same unique light grey eye color
DO NOT GET A TREE! STAND YOUR GROUND! NO 🌲!
(BTW- This is really bad advice. I just want to stir the pot and get you in trouble.)
"Yeah, kill em" lol
Oliver: Your love of the series mirrors mine although I read them as an adult end not a child on the recommendation of students I taught in my English class.
Kylie: You're doing a loving thing to take this journey with Oliver.
Regarding your ending comments:
1. No she fucking didn't, the series is riddled with plotholes
Potterheads never write spoilers in the comments. Watched a lot of reactions, never a single spoiler in the comments!
I’ve seen some borderline spoilers right here on this video. 😄
Like you two as reactors but the film was so cut up and choppy, jumping here and there all over the place, a split second of Snape just standing by Harry’s chair before his first quidditch match, with no dialogue?
I am a Hufflepuff
I'm approaching 50 so I didn't grow up with the books. But I have read the entire series again and again more than any other books ever. I have issues with the movies.
All that said it was really wonderful to watch a fan feel the emotions that only really come when you know the whole story. I don't want to give anything away in the form of spoilers. So will just say that A.S.P. was named for the bravest man ever, who I to my shame hated for many years.
or the 1000th time lol watching
Lol
Do kill bill
Everyone that burned her book had to go out and buy new ones. Cuz shes right as always
Of course they can't make up for the major flaws in the story itself, but contrary to the books they are really enjoyable and even got me to like the characters that are just insufferable in the books.

the movie clips you show are too short and the cuts between are too big... i mean you are skipping alot in between....
While at the same time it seems you two talk way too much over important dialogue
You need to learn to talk when there is no important dialogue
Im glad he brought up the author being a horrible person for context
You very slow OMG Harry Potter best movies there’s 8 movies
