As always very helpful instruction-build video. A former build video of yours helped me assemble my first build to a point where I didn't even have to check for instructions while building and simply built it, because you explained so well and I rewatched it a couple of times, that I just knew what to do naturally edit: continue your great, great work my friend!
Great video - this is almost exactly the build i'm going to be trying in the next week, so I will definitely come back this to use as a reference. One question - you bought a bunch of extra fans, but I thought the case already came with 4 (3 front,1 back) and the AIO comes with 2 - I must have missed the point in the video where you used those. Did they replace the ones that came with it?
The case came with 3 at the front mate I changed all fans to the ql120 corsair fans. Good luck with the build 👍 thanks 4 watching I really appreciate it 👍
That was one of the best build videos i`ve seen very clear instructions didn`t rush anything made it very clear on what to do. These days more and more people are thinking of building their own pc for whatever reason they want it for and you have made it look so easy. Ever thought into holding building classes? thank you.
Beautiful build! Waiting on this case to arrive. I own a prebuilt PC so obviously I never had the chance to pick my case, can't wait to swap it to this beautiful thing!!!
I'm doing my first build in the Corsair 4000X and I was worried about top mounting the radiator and not having enough RAM clearance. It was nice to see you building with the same case, RAM, and AIO that I bought.
Update. I just installed everything and first try (beginners luck) got it all working. Installed windows, had a little bump when I didn’t have internet or any drivers. Installed them and now I gotta go to the store and pickup the gpu. Thanks dude!

i was about to make almost identical setup and came across to this video! Thank you so much for explaining well and i learned so much about commander pro! love from japan!
I pretty much ordered all the same parts for this build. I just got the case today and started to build and I just realized the rog strix b550 gaming motherboard does not have a USB type c connector. Do I need to order a mother board with a USB type c connecter
Hi Mate if u want to use the front type c usb then yes you will need a Mobo that supports it OR you could get one of these mate - amzn.to/3rrTdC8 hope this helps and thanks for the question :) good luck
I bought the same case and I’m currently building my ox quick question do you need the rgb commander pro or is it optional plus I have a small problem where everything is connected except for the usb typ C port because my motherboard doesn’t have that in it to plug it in but my pc case won’t turn on except for the cooler and psu
Hi mate I love this case - you don't need the commander pro it's just an extra to help make things easier. You just need to make sure your fans are all plugged into fan headers for power and then a rgb into rgb controller then the controller into usb 2 header on mobo for control via icue. Check front panel IO ie, power button is all working and u should be good mate 👍

@@myleshelm7701 went great. building process was straight forward and windows installation was a breeze. overall very happy with the build and haven’t ran into any issues whatsoever
Hey mate me again. So first and foremost, I got my build up and running, so very appreciative for that. One MAJOR piece of feedback is that you’ve switched out the standard case fans but not mentioned it at all. The lighting node will only control one type of Corsair RGB fan at a time, so if you have for instance LL120s on your cooler, the case fans won’t light up. Please let me know if I’m misunderstanding this!
@Chris the case originally came with SP120s and I changed all fans to QL120s. Each lighting node can only control one type of fan so you would need 1 for the case fans and then one for the Aio OR you could control the AIO via the MB as Asus and Corsair can all be controlled via icue saving you the extra cash on an additional lighting node- hope this helps.
@@TechCheckUK By plugging the AIO into the mobo, I would sacrifice fine control of the pump and fans. I guess I’ll swap out the case fans at some point in the future. It’s not critical, just a little annoying that they won’t even light up a solid colour or default pattern. I think it’s probably worth explicitly mentioning this as it’s not necessarily obvious to a first timer!
Nice little build that mate, lovely cases those. I looked at one of those before deciding on my Fractal S2 RGB. Nice to see some builds, with parts being so scarce at the moment, build videos are very thin on the ground. Really enjoy your content mate, keep up the great work 👍
I think the next one will be better as new camera angle and better audio. I may just do voice-over not sure yet I'm still finding my feet. Testing the water as they say, but fully committed to get better. Thanks for the continued support means alot.
The 4000 case comes with rgb hub already built into back of case and then to power the fans u will need to connect to system fan headers on motherboard. Also ensure u power the rgb hub with sata connection. Hope that helps
A little confused on the rgb with the included controller that comes with the CPU cooler. I don’t get why it would matter which of the 6 slots I plug the fans into (the ique controller) and why they have to correspond with the RGB sockets built into the pack of the case. Would I not be able to control the RGb via the software if I just plugged all the power from the fans into any of the ports on the controller?
@cody McGregor for power (pwm) you can plug them into whichever ports BUT for rgb they have to go in order. So figure out which fan you want to be number 1 and then make sure that goes into slot 1 and so on for all the others. If you don't then the rgb won't work mate. And if they are not in order if you change to anything other than a static colour it won't go in order they would be jumping all over the place. Hope that helps take care.
Okay, I’m struggling. I have vengeance pro rams and the H115i dual cooling fans RGB but they can’t both fit in the 4000x case as they collide. Please recommend another one please
If we just have the H100i AIO and one additional exhaust fan can we just connect them and the 3 front fans all to the commander core to simplify this process for this configuration??
Hi mate thanks for this video! I am building with the same case and mobo so this is truly valuable content for me! It's my first complete build so I'm a little nervous about the thermal paste and cooler install. I guess I can find more detail on that procedure elsewhere because you seem to have glossed over that part some what. Not complaining though, great video!
Hi Chris check out some of my other vids I go through total step by step chap. You cant go wrong remember a little more is better than not enough. I tend to put just over a pea sizes amount in the center of the cpu chap. Good luck and thank u
@@TechCheckUK I’ll have a look through your vids then, thanks for the quick reply! I had originally put in an order at a well known special PC builder but their backlog is immense so I’m going to do this myself instead. The paste is the only part I’m worried about as it’s something I’ve not done before (despite working as an IT Engineer 🤣). I saw folk recommend an x shape elsewhere 🤷🏻♂️
For someone who hasn’t built a pc before can you explain what I would do if I’m doing this build but don’t have a commander pro. My mother board is a asus B550 E, is there spots on the motherboard I just connect to instead?
Hi Jamie u will use the rgb hub at the back of the case and ensure you wire them up with fan number 1 at front bottom then 2 middle and 3 front then the top 2 and finally num er 6 rear exhaust fan. That sorts the rgb. You can then plug in the pwm connection to any fan headers on your motherboard as it will not matter as long as they have power - please note you can control the rgb in icue but the fans will be controlled via the pwm header and controller in bios
The screw your looking for is generally the pwm3x5mm 90% of the time this is the correct mobo screw but it can depend on standoff and case manufacturers..link - amzn.to/3PkXaCI
How were you able to mountthe rad on top? When i mounted it on top with the fans attached it's sitting right in front of the ram sticks, i have the h100i cappelix radiator. I'm not a fan of my radiator in the front
I'm not aware of the ram your using but the best way is to ensure when you attach the rad and fans at the top you don't tighten it down and then slide it left and right until you find the optimal place where it's least tight to the ram (maybe where the fans curve) attaching to the rad this way you will have room to remove the ram if needed. Once that's done you can then tighten it up.
Hi, I have a the similar build (5600x, RTX 3060). My question is I'm trying to figure out the best cooling for this case. It seems that there are more builds that have an AIO cooler rather than the standard air cooling. Why is that? Also, any idea how I can improve the cooling of my system? I have 1x 1500 RPM fan acting as an exhaust in the rear and 1x 1500 RPM fan acting as an exhaust on the top rear of the case. It also has the stock 3x intake fans located in the front. As for the CPU cooler, that's the "be Quiet! Dark Rock Slim".
Hi mate your configuration seems fine. Maybe add another top exhaust fan that will help and will also give even pressure 😉 I good tower cooler on a 5600x should be more than good enough tbh so no need for aio imo
@@TechCheckUK I don't know why but I find my system runs the coolest with 2x top intake fans, 1x rear exhaust, and the 3x front intake fans. You would think that the top fans acting as an exhaust would make more sense.
Yeah absolutely but it seems the 5 intake fans and 1 exhaust are cooling cpu and gpu more than the benefit of 3 exhaust fans can get rid of the warmer air - hey ho what ever works best for you man
Hi Mate i plug them directly into commander pro or you can use the lighting node that comes with them and this connects via a USB 2 connection to your Mobo
hey bro i have a question i bought the corsair 4000d airflow casing with h100i elite cooler and 4 ql120mm fans now tell me can I connect all of these 4 ql120 and 2 (ml120/stock fans) fans of h100i with commander core(that comes in the box of h100i)? and will all of these fans (total 6 fans) work togather like rgb and fan speed stuff etc ? would I be able to sync the rgb on these? any help or suggestion will be appreciated!
Hi mate commander pro only controls pwm power not rgb - essentially you would plug all your rgb into the lighting node and then connect that via usb2 to commander pro and all pwm direct to commander pro and then that via usb2 to the usb 2 header on mobo - hope that helps 👍
hey, i desperately need help! i have a little problem with my three fans on the front of my case. when i bought this same case, there were already three built in fans on the front. they all thankfully spin but i just cant figure out why they are not lighting up:(( do i have to buy new rgb fans? or can i fix it in someway? i would be thankful for any help!!:)
I don't have commander pro. I bought the same case with same fans but the motherboard is Asus TUF Gaming x570 Plus. How do I connect the pump to the motherboard? The USB cable and pwm stuff? Please help!
Hi pal thats fine real simple. Connect the fans rgb together with the rgb splitter from the pump and then do the same with the pwm connections then run the USB cable from the pump to a USB 2 header on MB connect sata power and lastly connect the single cpu fan cable to the cpu header on MB
@Michael Fazackerley temps are great mate. Under load in cinebench 63c and gpu whilst gaming max 71c. There is plenty of room for air to be pulled both sides and top and bottom of the glass front panel. Many thanks

Great video! Getting ready to do a very similar build and already thinking of switching some things up. I'll be referencing this as I build. Thanks!
Good luck with the new build, what parts are you using?
Where did you get the screws of minute 15:15 I cannot find them
They are in the box in the hard drive bay. Standard motherboard screws mate 👍
@@TechCheckUK Nice one mate, your videos are already very well made, the new equipment should make them even better.
I'll look forward to it 👍
I don’t have the commander pro block, but I’m struggling to find out how to connect the front fans that came with it in.
I basically owe you my desktop, mate. Thank you so much for the guide
No probs mate glad it helped 👍 please feel free to subscribe though 😉
@@TechCheckUK already done brother. If I could do it 10 times, I would.

Okay, I’m struggling. I have vengeance pro rams and the H115i dual cooling fans RGB but they can’t both fit in the 4000x case as they collide. Please recommend another one please

amzn.to/3r9pjma
amzn.to/3f8Ov9F
If we just have the H100i AIO and one additional exhaust fan can we just connect them and the 3 front fans all to the commander core to simplify this process for this configuration??
Yes mate all can be controlled and connected to commander core 👍
Ot was so nice to build mate, yeah with work and YT finding time to game atm is pretty tough pal. Hope your well, what u playing these days?
Do you have a pc parts list for this?
In the description mate 👍
hi where am i able to get screws like the ones you used to install the motherboard in the case
The screw your looking for is generally the pwm3x5mm 90% of the time this is the correct mobo screw but it can depend on standoff and case manufacturers..link - amzn.to/3PkXaCI
@@TechCheckUK thank you 🙏🙏
How were you able to mountthe rad on top? When i mounted it on top with the fans attached it's sitting right in front of the ram sticks, i have the h100i cappelix radiator. I'm not a fan of my radiator in the front
I'm not aware of the ram your using but the best way is to ensure when you attach the rad and fans at the top you don't tighten it down and then slide it left and right until you find the optimal place where it's least tight to the ram (maybe where the fans curve) attaching to the rad this way you will have room to remove the ram if needed. Once that's done you can then tighten it up.
Same ram as you, corsair vengance, sorry i should have specified but thank you for the tip
No problem mate 👍
Lol I took out the mini hub here’s hoping it works with just the commander pro because I figured if I can plug them all into the one hub why not
Exactly what I did mate good job 👏
Yeah absolutely but it seems the 5 intake fans and 1 exhaust are cooling cpu and gpu more than the benefit of 3 exhaust fans can get rid of the warmer air - hey ho what ever works best for you man
Nice build, immaculate cable management I have the same case and my cables are not even nearly as neat. I’ll need to take another stab at it.
Thanks Darnell - it's the patience and time realIy I appreciate your support lots more builds coming hope to see u again
where did you connect those strips led light to ?
Hi Mate i plug them directly into commander pro or you can use the lighting node that comes with them and this connects via a USB 2 connection to your Mobo

It just came part of a screwdriver set mate - you can get really cheap ones on amazon 👍
hey bro i have a question
i bought the corsair 4000d airflow casing with h100i elite cooler and 4 ql120mm fans now tell me can I connect all of these 4 ql120 and 2 (ml120/stock fans) fans of h100i with commander core(that comes in the box of h100i)? and will all of these fans (total 6 fans) work togather like rgb and fan speed stuff etc ?
would I be able to sync the rgb on these?
any help or suggestion will be appreciated!
Hi mate yes you can do this the commander core holds 6 rgb and 6 pwm connections. This then connects via USB 2 to MB 😀
What's the difference between the lighting node core and the rgb inputs on the comandar pro? I am confused
Hi mate commander pro only controls pwm power not rgb - essentially you would plug all your rgb into the lighting node and then connect that via usb2 to commander pro and all pwm direct to commander pro and then that via usb2 to the usb 2 header on mobo - hope that helps 👍
