Older, simple 4x4 SUVs are the way to go. Doesn't matter if it's a Range Rover, Toyota, or Jeep. Grab one, go exploring, and make some memories. Something every car enthusiast should experience at least once in their lives!
Greatest off road vehicle. Generally the best car ever, my grandpa and I have owned them all our lives. I still have a '02 model, still running an still working as it should. Just the best.
This family's BMW story is one of the Petrolicious vids that has stuck in my mind. I love their shared passion and hope to enjoy that with my young son as he grows up. In the BMW video, the family states how they never want to give up their 5 series cars. With their move and lifestyle change, did they get rid of them? Though I love these Range Rovers, I hope they still have their classic sedans.
Who would've thought this RR would become an icon and would start the interest in classic SUVees ? Darn good piece of machinery - with a lot of prestige.
Right he said these aren’t Toyota’s these actually run. Toyota is actually really reliable right? And Land Rover are notorious for being unreliable. Am I missing something? This guy is complety off.
Is this the same family that had three 5-series BMW's? (I didn't have time to go back and check.) They once again sound like an already close family brought even closer by their love of cars!
When in doubt you often learn a lot from reading the description. A part of this video's description: "You might remember the Caccavos from one of our earlier films, wherein we visited Dean, DonnaRae, and Austin to profile the family and their trio of BMW 5-Series, and although the M5 is a certifiable heirloom at this point, on our most recent check-in with them we found a group of British trucks in place of the German sedans. " I hadn't caught that at first. Well spotted.
The ability to go out and have fun is the reason my parents and I all drive Land Cruisers. Awesome videos! Land Rovers versus Toyotas? I love 'em all! Drive them where they feel at home, off road.
Land Rovers have an ageless design which is what the designers intended. These trucks are complex vehicles, but if the owner has a 20 year projection then it makes sense. The aluminum/magnesium body panels will keep the body looking good and the interior has always been top notch materials. Expect and engine replacement. the steering and axles are changed like any sophisticated 4x4 so that a neutral dilemma. LR3 will be my next truck. I refuse to use the expected premium fuel.
I did my apprenticeship on the the 80s Range Rovers between '83 and '86. Nice to drive (if one likes the 'ship' sensation), but a nightmare to work on. The famous 'clonk' as all the driveline backlash is taken up, clutch jobs where something else, oil leaks, deadly tyre blow outs on the factory fitted M+S tyres (it seems the M+S tyres didn't like our hot climate), worn rocker shafts on the V8s. Not forgetting the horrendous fuel consumption, especially once one starts digging in soft sand.
“As one Australian once put it to me, if you want to go into the Outback, take a Land Rover. If you want to come back out again, make sure it’s a Land Cruiser.” - James May
Range rover was all over africa in the 80s and 90s got over thrown by Toyota and most Asian off roaders ..Nissan patrol etc then few g wagons come in but Toyota was the king after the rovers but the last 15 yrs range rover has really come back and it probably first choice for the young fellas.
Ato Nympha You mean the 60s onwards.!!! Toyota’s were used in Africa, the 40 series was already working these were workhorses you never saw.! And they used these in South America, all over the deserts, tropical forests, into the high mountain passes, salt flats, etc etc as it wasn’t Land Rover, The 45/50 series were all over Asia, South America, Australia & Africa, the 60 series dominated every continent with its big diesel and total reliability, Africa isn’t the bench mark of a vehicle, it’s the rest of the world.!!! “first choice for young fellas”, these guys obviously need the symbol of a vehicle to prove that they’re somebody due to the high costing...
❤️I’m in love with this family lol, and I don’t know them at all 🤩🤩🤩. I love that they all have one. I have a 2006 Range Rover Supercharged but next I’ll get the 2017 Range SV Autobiography LWB. However I plan to add a 1994 Range LWB like this family owns, the ones in this video are hard to find in the right condition .
This guy literally said "their not toyotas! They all run!" What a joke. Range rovers are notorious for having issues hence why he says to learn about the cars quirks....well toyotas dont have quirks. They just work. This guy is demented!
Guys I really love your films, But you got to work on your audio compression . It is so difficult with the highs and lows in the audio, try some real mixing and good compression, it’ll do the wonders.... thanks as always!
This is the kind of family where their perspective is a lot different than most others. But very nice garage and I like the style of the Range Rover. There must be something between Land Rover owners and Toyota owners that I didn't know existed until now. Two weeks ago someones Discovery broke at my resort. I told him I had a similar experience with an old Toyota we had and he strikes back with "Well this isn't a Toyota its a Land Rover" Now this guy claims Land Rover more reliable over Toyota. Just figured it out! Land Rover owners are a little salty cause us Toyota owners always comment on how much more reliable our vehicles are over Land Rovers. I guess from now on I will keep this comment to myself. However I will add that when I worked for an Auto Complex of 13 different brands; Land Rover had the smallest show room and the largest service garage. Ok I'm done. Toyota.
Excited. Just picked up a '93 classic. A few leaks I can fix but need more advice. I don't care about exterior, what's your best advice for getting it road ready
Hmm. Is Petrolicious moving into sponsored content? (I must have missed the “Brought to you by Land Rover” tag.) They must not have owned these vehicles for very long. I’ve done the Land Rover/Range Rover thing. My Series 2A was Safari ready, but leaked from every fitting and joint. Verified by the LR club - that’s what they all do, no need to change fluids just top up. Then there was Lucas the Lord of Darkness to contend with. The RR was perpetually leaking rain into the cabin, factory recalls, mystery electrical shorts, defective paint, rust, decomposing rubber, etc. We had reserved seating at the dealership. Maybe this family is having their first/last Land Rover experience together. LR/RR helped inspire me to move on to classic a G-Wagen and Toyota. More functionality and more time functioning.
Hi, do you have problems with power seats? My driver side was pushed all the way back and down and unable to come back up, now he passenger side doesn’t even move at all ? Thanks
The Range Rover classic isn’t that bad in reliability and maintain actually, because it’s much more simple compare to later model, and most parts share with Defender and Discovery 1 , but definitely not on par with Japanese cars level, the later P38a & L322 are where the bad reputation began. I own a Range Rover classic, a Mercedes and two Lexus.
To anyone out there. I am looking for a 25th Anniversary Badge Edition for my 1995 Range Rover Classic 25th Anniversary Edition. I had my Classic at a repair shop and there was an accident, where the back of my Classic was melted. Shop states he can't locate one. Mayday Mayday

Canadian Gearhead Yes, mate! 100% agree.
Still one of the best comments I’ve read. So true.
Am I the only one who likes old Range Rovers over the new ones ?
Nah mate, me too. Me too..
The new rr look like fucking soccer mom cars bro I've got a 2004 disco it's my child
No mate
No, I prefer the classic Range Rover too. Original is always best. Would love to get hold of a Suffix A one day. Preferably in good old 1970s yellow.
Yeah, you’re the only one who likes old Range Rovers over the new ones. That’s why this video is a thing, because no one likes old Range Rovers.
Range rover more reliable than toyota? I am so confused
Yea found that hard to believe but hell still like RR
Yeah not every Toyota is bulletproof but Toyota basically has way less problems when compared to range or land rover
@@carholic-sz3qv so true

I think the dude hit his head very hard at some point.
The Range Rover is a amazing machine... Simply one of the best off-roaders ever made...
Thank you guys for another beautiful film! This will certainly be cherished forever. Cheers!
Do you guys still have your E28s?
Jose Emmanuel Torres I wanna know that too
The 528e was sold to a close friend, my 535is was sold to an enthusiast in Canada, and I purchased the M5 from my father.
Something elegant and beautiful about the classic that later models never matched .
They are bit strange...in a 2015 petrolicious video, they all drove BMW 5 series....we can expect a "Family of Volvos" video in 2023....
as a Volvo driver and enthusiast - I would love to see that, after being (still) a BMW enthusiast and somehow liking the classic Range Rover shape ;D
That e28 video is one of my favs. Now this family makes NO REFERENCE of e28s. WTF?!?!!?

What a great story, very cool! There is something about older 4x4s thats more appealing than modern stuff
Great video. I can appreciate any older 4x4 whether it’s a RR or LC. I have an 86 FJ60 and I love it the way they love their RR.
Who would've thought this RR would become an icon and would start the interest in classic SUVees ?
Darn good piece of machinery - with a lot of prestige.
Up next, Ferrari's are super practical!

It’s a tribute to how good its design is that they got 25 years out of it. They still look brilliant today
most beautiful 4x4 ever created. (the 1970 classics, not the new ones).
I can top that.. we’re one family with 5 Range Rovers total 4 classic’s 1 P38
Pleasantly surprised they didn't break down for the duration of the shooting of the video...
O S
It’s called editing.!!!! 😜
3:35 The story behind this clip, perhaps?
Every 15 second or so in the video they are under the hood or under the truck fixing something
The Range Rover Classic are starting to become collectible investment. The values will start to soar over the next few years.

Current car culture is funny... it's like every classic car + range/land rover's.

Visionery1 I guess the fuel mileage issue is all relative. My 1991 RRC is downright frugal compared to the mileage that my FJ62 gets !!
Beautiful landscapes and fantastic car ! A real 4X4.
Can’t beat an old Rangy.
Love the family dynamic.
My dad owns a similar Range Rover. Well it’s an ex fire brigade 6x6. And a first generation Discovery.
I had a 95 classic lwb and loved it! If i could find the right one I would totally daily one again!
I have got 2 P38's, one is a 96 model the other one is a 2002. They really are awesome vehicles, am considering getting a classic to rebuild.

@Adrian Forsdyke Toyota and its Land Cruiser predecessor existed long before Land Rover.

I'll stick with my FZJ80 had 2 RR in the family both were terrible. Still I do love the design and drive of RR classics.
