  • This is the first scene to “The Road Back”, the seventh season premiere for the 1978-91 CBS drama “Dallas”. This was the first episode of the seventh season (132nd overall). This episode also marks the first appearance of Omri Katz as John Ross Ewing III. This episode originally aired on Friday, September 30, 1983.
Continuing where the sixth season finale left off, J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman), Ray Krebbs (Steve Kanaly), Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) and John Ross (Omri Katz) are trapped in a major fire at Southfork.
Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) sees the ranch in flames, and he jumps in the pool so he wouldn’t get badly burned as he rushes into the house to save J.R., Ray, Sue Ellen, and John Ross from the Southfork fire.

That was one of the smartest things I have seen on a soap opera (i.e. Bobby getting in the pool).

Ce feuilleton était vraiment incroyable ! Quarante ans plus tard il est toujours aussi fantastique à regarder ! 🤩

Tho, Ray knew JR to he a crooked narcassist, he knew and trust that JR is a good father to John Ross enough that he let them both jump into the pool for safety. JR had some good qualities in him despite his ruthless games.

The first episode that Omri Katz took over the role as John Ross from Tyler Banks.

Thank God that the fire alarm at Southfork was wired directly to the fire department-otherwise the entire main house would’ve burned to the ground.

Dallas loved to explain its cliffhangers away quickly. Everyone’s safe, and the ranch house was built with the most fire retardant material available! All will be fixed in two or three episodes.
The reality is that once fire pokes through the roof like that, the structure is generally a total loss. But Dallas wanted to get back to the status quo as quickly as possible.

At least Bobby my dream husband was smart he jumped into the pool before he saved me Sue Ellen John Ross Ray and JR in the ranch fire. Once the firemen checked me out they said luckily I had only a couple of burns one my arm and leg gave me oxygen so I could breath but suggested I spend the night in the hospital to make sure I was ok no other effects from the fire they say which one is your husband Bobby comes over says I am her husband they she needs to be in hospital overnight i started crying Bobby says liane honey it is for own good I didn’t give Bobby any reason not to go agreeded with him he holds me in his arms as we were watching the ranch in flames I say oh god Bobby I thought we were not going to see each other

Had JR jumped from the balcony of the real Southfork to the pool, he would have killed himself. I've been to the actual ranch and there is not enough clearance to make it into the pool unless JR good at jumping out far.
