Did this ball bearing upgrade today, on my newly acquired Zebco 33 Triggerspin. The one difference with my reel was that one of the 3 bushings that were replaced, was black plastic rather than metal.
Nice upgrade with the stainless steel bearings. Thanks for the handy video.

I will do that. I was using a light but it was not directly overhead. I will work on something.
That's what I want but a newer version of it. Ended up ordering the Daiwa 24 Underspin and a Abu Garcia Abumatic 275U.

@@OutFishing13Matthew Yeah! I can't find any. Only Micro's. Is there a Platinum or Gold version of this? Can't you order the brass gear from one if there is? I'm sure it's used in a lot of different models as well.

Very cool. All Zebco makes now is the 33 Micro (size 10) Spin Casts (triggerspin). I think the 33 in a size 30 would be very popular if they were to make them again.

Thank you for your time. I’m currently completely disassembling and cleaning/oil/greasing this exact reel for my Dad. Do you know the manufacturing dates for this reel? This one has 33T-B4 stamped on the reel foot too.
Update:
I cleaned everything inside and out including every single part. Oiled and greased everything and for its time it’s a decent reel and now I trying to locate my spare parts box for bearings instead of the chromed imitation bearings.
They were made between 2004 and 2012.
i have this reel. when I put it away I place the hook in one of the guides and tighten up the line but it wont stay tight. why is that?
Could be the drag?
Where do you get the center shaft gear for this reel? I cannot locate it anywhere.

So is this the same process with the 11T micro? I just picked one up that was new in the package. I opened the back because it didn’t reel very smooth, it looked dry as a bone!
It is similar, but not exactly the same. I have a video on an 11 that will be more informative. The only difference is the trigger assembly. If you clean that 11T up, oil and lube it, it should work just fine!
What a bummer..I watched your video on the 11 micro a couple times and went about tearing mine down. The bushings in this one are plastic and while working them out the main gear and shaft broke into 4 pieces. Do you know where I can find another? I'd also like to go ahead and get bearings to replace those bushings.
@@johncahill612 I am sorry to hear that. You may need to get a parts reel. Or try Zebco Shop and Swap on Facebook. I have an Etsy page called MarbleGems and I sell the little bearings for this reel to supertune it.
Enjoyed this video! I have tried to order bearings from tackle service and the Shakespeare parts page as well. Both are out of bearings for my particular reels. Any word when they will have them? Thanks.

@@davewashburn8930 That is probably my fault. I posted these videos and showed guys how to super tune a reel. What reel are you looking for bearing. I can give you a standard bearing part number so you can order your own from amazon or ebay. These are just as good or better.

The 144 XL is the omega
The 33 bearings would be fine.
Would these bearings work in a new 33 Max N? I'm trying to turn mine into a 4 bearing system too.

How did you know what size ball bearings to get before you even took it apart?
It's the same as a 33
@@OutFishing13Matthew so from experience then? Can you do a video on how to measure or size them with a digital caliper? I'm getting some odd numbers so I don't know what to do if I should round up or down or what.

I absolutely love trigger spin reels. I wish they would only make and I would only own these types of reels.
I only own one and it's a Shakespeare 1802ti synergy steel titanium and it needs replaced.

@OutFishing13 Have you ever run across a zebco spincast reel that has no retrieval pins on it? I remember back in the early1,990s having a reel that inside the spool was all wavy pattern on the edge with no retrieval pins. the purpose of it was to grab on to with the waves so it may grab inbetween the waves edge for fast retrieval and connection. I'd like to know if you have run across it what model reel was it? Thank you for any help you can give me I've been searching for this thing forever. I've caught many trout and striped bass with this reel in my younger days and have been looking for years to find one. @@OutFishing13Matthew thank you and I also see the zebco 300 as well. Funny I've been looking for years and asked you for help (thank you BTW) and then all of a sudden I found a bunch. Lol. Now to figure which one I had to buy one. Man I loved the design of those reels. Always had issue withe the pin types where the line would actually cut into the pin. Cheap metal I suppose. Anyways I love the content and look forward to upgrade my newer 33 and my new 33micro triggered

I have not had the privilege of owning a Johnson Spincast. Maybe one day. I have Shakespeares, Daiwas and an Abu.

Are the guts in this one the same as the 33 micro trigger spin, just smaller?
They are very similar. The AR may be a little different. See my service video on a 33 Micro. The guts in those are the same except the trigger.
Another well perform instructional. Never had the opportunity to use one of these. I assume 8-10# test?

Mine is33 t d4 bottom of reel.
Model number is a little different, but sounds like it is the same reel.

I read in the 33 Authentic super-tune video that you use a sewing machine grease “lighter weight” for the discs and such and Lucas Red grease for the gears. which light-weight grease would you recommend or is that sewing machine grease easily available?
I used what I had on hand. Try hot sauce grease or Penn grease. I just got some Penn and will try that out.
