- Today we are counting down the best assists from Ricky Rubio's career. As you noticed so far we really appreciate a nice pass here at Basketball Fundamentals, so we are just going to keep the theme alive. Rubio is a passing wizard, who has been playing professional basketball since he was 14. Many compared Rubio to Pete Maravich when he got drafted, and when it comes to passing he is up there with Pistol Pete. Scoring not so much :)

I was waiting for that #1 the whole vid and you got it right! He's just my favourite player... he may not shoot very well in today's shooting-oriented game but his pace and vision just brings any team to another level and this has been criminally underrated...

Fc Barcelona (Barça) same city big rival team pay 3,7 € millions for him, most spensive traspass in spain history at this time, and won 3 tittles that year including Euroleague being the most younger player who winning it in history. At 20 years old he become THE ONLY player in Europa history who win all the competions in a seasson, ACB, Euroleague, FIBA eurocup, ULEB cup, Spain cup and ACB cup. At 21 years old he arrives to NBA...
Amazing player, if he only had a little better 3pt shot, he would be Hall of Fame level.
He always has been a playmaker and didnt have a good shoot routine, but this last years he's focusing more in scoring and find a shoot/pass leverage. Not so espectacular but more complete player... Thanks for answer.
@@BasketballFundamentals it was Minnys fault he didnt develop in crucial early years of NBA career. Coach at the time didnt like his creativity because the coach wanted plays run exactly like he drew them.
@@eurostar0711 100% right. He lost that creativity and got stunted. I watched 90% of wolves games in those years, and something drastically changed. Became more of your typical PG after ACL and those early years 😞

Yeah, seemed like post ACL and as he matured, the flash mostly went away. Stopped taking the risks and was more basic/well rounded. His first few years in the league with my Wolves was some of the most fun basketball I ever watched.
I love Ricky's game. I was always hoping for better shooting. He reminded me of Rondo w/ a foul shot. If he shot @ Rondo's career rate and Rondo shot @ Rubio's career FT rate--they'd be damn near composites of each other
I always hoped we will get him to be Tony's replacement.

I'm a Rubio fan and I've always wanted to see him with the spurs as well. Unfortunately, they have younger and arguably better guards in murray/white. They're set for years.
Young Rubio wuldve been an all star and and helped smoothen.the post Big Three era... the Spurs have the best shooting doctor in Chip Engelland.

As underrated and razzle dazzle of a passer rubio is, I️ sometimes feels alot of his assists are pocket passes given to teammates like a last minute ditch effort. Not knocking down his skills tho.

@@eurofam7475 Ohhh ok :) Today I would have to go with Lebron or Jokic. Those two make players around them much better than they are. Also as you see I really admire Rubio, I think he is the biggest reason why the Suns are playing great this season.
