- This video we hang out around the Othello area where the Coquihalla took a lot of stuff in the flood. Even though repairs are currently being done the signs of devastation still exist. Some stunning arial footage of the new landscape and work done. At the end we tack on a flashback.

Spectacular drone footage! The scale of the destruction is breathtaking. I love the before and after picture. There is no other source of news about the Coquihalla disaster and recovery -- that compares to yours. Please continue your public service!
Thanks for reminding us that this work is still going on. People are complaining about the Provincial gas tax, but it is those revenues that are paying for these repairs and upgrades. Thanks to all the folks getting our infrastructure back!
The power of flooding waters is amazing! I am a survivor of the 2013 floods in Alberta and the sights of flooding first hand were even more emotional than even videos and pics are. One man who came to help me after the floods was so shocked that even though he had watched many of the news reports he was unprepared for the actual effects. He likened it to a war zone! Others watching the news were reported to have mistaken the railroad tracks twisted to be a picket fence!
We will never forget. 💘

The scale seems so large it's unfortunate that the road to the Othello's might be closed for the summer, but thanks to your reporting, you are the source that's truly bringing the story alive. cute kid and dog by the way.
At the start of this video is a large camper buried in the sand; I have to wonder if this is the same camper home that disappeared, along with the car, as seen in earlier videos. Otherwise, I am so glad that your updates continue! Well done!

I see that the reopening of all the lanes of the Coke is going to take some time to complete, along with the closed exits, but at least someone is trying to get it done, and by far, you folks have shown us more than the lame stream media ever will, your reports are top notch compared to anyone else, keep up the great work ethic and thanks

@@jamesalinio5277 They are open but probably will be worked on for quite some time to reinforce once again. Opening them at least on a temporary track was a big priority because you have to remember those companies are private! It is amazing how quick it gets done when it is costing them money every day to have it cut. Hope that info helps.

So glad you are recording this - it's quite something to see the power of rain & water in action - to show that not all erosion takes eons to wear things away, that a significant rain event can cause catastrophic changes to the land and rocks in mere days, sometimes hours - so should give us pause to think. Also flooding ongoing in QLD & NSW, AUS - so destructive. Love the closing gratuitous Golden Canine shots! My Kelpie wanted to play! So sad!

Thanks for the updates. Your doing a great job. I often wonder what's going on with all the damaged roads , bridges, railways and bridges . The big news channel's are to busy reporting about some cat that was rescued from a tree. Like they can't afford the gas to send a reporter out or their helicopter to give us weekly updates. Same goes for Horgan. Our politicians seem to of sweep this under the rug. Past Hope so who gives a care in the world. It's like people have lost track of what's important in our community's, regions, province's and country. .

It is sad to see how much Othello tunnel has been damaged from other video back in Nov, my family and I visit there each year for the last 5 years. It would be really scary if anyone was in the tunnel section, the amount of wood stuck through the tunnel were unbelievable
Will be traveling to BC this summer mite take to Coquihalla just to see for my self how my damage has happen.. I been to Hope before and saw the damage the Hope side had caused

You need to rethink that moustache. Peering inside the wrecks and trailers would be interesting next time. Natural Gas pipelines are usually coated.
River gods think rip rap is delicious like chunky soup! Nothing like cubic yard sized boulders to seriously pulverize anything along the banks!
