  • The Coquihalla river ravaged through historic Othello train tunnels. We still see the signs of this last disaster, it reminds us to be prepared to survive. Thinking of possible wind storms and the coming fire season we take action around the house by removing danger trees.

well, just an idea you could put an animal camera at Othello Tunnels I'm sure you'd get a lot of youtube visitors, just to keep an eye out if they do decide to take out the old train tunnels, the tunnels do have a ton of history and should be a historical landmark, Great video of falling of trees.

really enjoy your updates (I'm located in Ontario). I have been following with great interest the repairs going on Hwy 8 from Merritt to Spencer Bridge, which has been the most damaged section of highway from the floods. It is amazing what has been done there in temporary repairs. Just wish somebody like the SteBros lived on there to give us updates.

Hemlock is dirty rotten wood here on the island, when they are healthy they're fine, but many a faller has been fooled by poor wood on an outside slab that fell away.
    Good work boys.
You can slope your front undercut a little if you wish to help guide that tree a little more, being careful not to cut through the holding wood on the back cut. Your wedges will move a lot of weight, if you leave a little room you can keep sawing and tighten your wedges, ( providing the diameter is big enough ) don't need to bang them very hard, they will move the tree.
Always love to see a new video and find out what you are up to !!

Oh NO! Nice job - Let's build a cabin in the woods they say, have the shade trees keep the sun at bay - then along comes a forest fire & whoosh - having survived one nasty bush fire I wouldn't want those hemlocks within falling distance of my cabin either. Nice felling job - yup that flood caused a lot of headaches - DO you think they'll ever get in & clear the debris, like the cars, from the river or is it just impossible?
