  • Mr. Carlin delivered a humorous speech in which he made fun of Washington politics and the language of politics. He also talked about America's penchant for euphemism and about labeling minorities. After his remarks he answered questions submitted from the audience.

    Listening to him just makes me cry...He loved everyone equally and realised that there is no need to believe in God to love each other. He is the only one who probably understood how US is corrupting everything around the world. I miss him....I really miss him...

      Lots of people understand that's what America does just took sometime for Americans to realize that...must be that education system you have that he often talks about...or the lack of it.
      Carlin had great observationalist,satirical and political mind and he delivered it so well mm.could have been a politician ..he would have hated that!!

      But you can believe in God and still love everyone.
      And really, that's a commandment.

    • @natrelacoustix
      @natrelacoustix 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Dan Grigoriu That's a commandment? Well if you have to be commanded to love some one, I call foul.
      The point is, you don't have to have the emotional crouch of some sky floating none deity to love and, have empathy for your fellow human beings and your planet. If you have to be commanded, then there is something seriously wrong with your view on life. Get the big hairy, male nurse to bring your med's back on line.

      You have to love your fellow man in order to be recognised by God as His servant.
      In other words, you cannot claim to be a true Christian and His servant if you do not love your fellow man.

      Trevor Holland If that's the definition of a "true human being" than they're definitely nowhere near extinct. There's millions of people nowadays that do whatever they think is right for them and don't think they should listen to society.
      We usually give those people jail sentences because they're usually rapists and murderers.

      So, to be clear. Einstein was "propably" the smartest American. He wasn't. The ones that were smarter weren't mention in books because, we all know who owns most of the medias. In my opinion, he might contributed to a lot of things BUT, we never heard of the people who worked under him. Just like a professor that takes all the credits from a discovery done by his students.

His ability to get into your brain and your very soul is beyond regular explanation of humor and/or satiric speeches.

      Hating religion isn't a positive point.

    • @JewTubeSux
      @JewTubeSux 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      ExplosionRadius Big difference between being spiritually sound and religiously sound. Religion is a narrow minded, dogmatic system that stems from horribly translated ancient writings. (Originally in Sumerian Cuneiform, then Aramaic, then Hebrew, then Greek, then Latin, then finally translated into the modern languages... The Bible is so terribly translated and watered down, it doesn't even resemble what it is intended to be. To be spiritually sound is to rise above that to REALLY touch the notion of God.

George Carlin was a very smart well spoken man who could debate the truth like a ninja. He was far more then a comedian. I have a few of his books and the man is a legend. Him and Bill Hicks spoke up when it was NOT OK to say and do the things they did.
      I mean look at the fact he is speaking with the government and just dropping bombs on them. Balls of steel and called it like it was. He never sold out and still did his last HBO special up to 2 months before he died. Carlin was a beast and inspirational man.

    George Carlin, a man of great insight and wit. His intelligent way of reasoning with taboo subjects and his direct attack with cynical and sarcastic comments on the establishment and religion made him the greatest one man show ever

    I have a friend who "happens to be Indian" and he actually told me the same thing about the expression "Native American".
    He said it is an insult because it implies that they are native to a land of a different name than what they knew it as. They were a tribal nation and the land had many different nations. Their tribe wiped out other tribes to secure the lands they occupied, no different than the United States western expansion had done to their ancestors.
    To some their is humility in defeat.
    To others it is humiliating to not accept defeat honorably and assimilate. There is no shame in mixing cultures.
    Honestly I people in the States should be weary of government documents of piblic census that identify persons in to groups or labels. It allows politician to create a demographics and pander to specific groups, which can only weaken to masses and empower the politician.
    Identity is who you are not what you are even if that has something to do with where you came from.
    The United States should have adopted American English as an official language long age as well. The continued lack of a national language also enables a great division between those who live there.
    The political powers that were supposed to be by the people for the people seem to profit from the division of the same people they are supposed to represent. Their campaigns clearly target groups instead of the regions they represent as a whole.
    SO the system works for very few instead of for the good of many. Worse yet, those few seldom are the group that cast their vote.
    Persons say the system is broken but if you follow American history you already know that politicians have convoluted and corrupted the systems before they actually ran the country with the system. America is not ruled the populous as nor has it ever been governed as intended by the founding documents. Which are clearly written to avoid misinterpretation, yet we find politicians constantly reinterpreting them to shape the personal vision of the corrupt few.

    This is one of those classic appearances that should be viewed on a regularly. It shows us the obscenity of political correctness that we should stand against. George Carlin is and was one of those who stand out as stellar observers of ludicrous language and life.

  • @bootsbluejeansandkidneybea3803
    @bootsbluejeansandkidneybea3803 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ah, Mister Conductor. Personally, I'll never forget the day George Carlin went from a tiny guy with a neat voice and stories about trains that could've been great ventriloquists. To a normal sized guy whose thoughts and rants and use of language, that for me, promoted a way of thinking and questions about just what hell is going on here. I could joke and say that transition "kicked me in the childhood". But to be perfectly honest . . . it kicked me in the adulthood and all I could do was laugh.

  • @24mymelody
    @24mymelody 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Anyone else as surprised as I am watching this to see George Carlin as nervous as he was here? Nevertheless, pulls it off with style, like always, but it's obvious that his having to guard against accidentally offending anyone with bad language or political opinions definitely stifled his creativity.... As always, George Carlin is best enjoyed uncensored and brutally, unabashedly honest.
