I’m a huge fan of the platform. I’ve tried various controller setups in the past but the ease of integration with the console 1 is unmatched . Just a few days of in depth practice and it starts to become second nature very quickly. Aside from the intuitive nature , the sound quality of the plugins is fantastic . Having a modular channel strip available to you is a godsend. I do wish they would allow control of at least a few other plug-ins via controller working console 1. They have integrated UAD but I’m not a UAD user and I wish they had the same deal with plug-in alliance where you could drop in the mc77 in the compressor section , or the better maker eq in the eq section. The neold unit for drive ect. But aside from that minor gripe which softube has openly addressed to me stating they enjoy the limited nature of the platform as a conduit to creativity ( im paraphrasing ) I swear by the system
Curious: How do you have the 3 units laid out? I tried with 1 left 1 right and it was pretty sweet, but I never pulled the trigger. (I also have an X-Touch & 3 Extensions, so 32 Faders. The C1 Fader(s) would have to beat that to justify the money for me.)
David Great video! Prosocoustic is my company and I made the same mistake putting our stand together on my rig. The slots are indeed for the side lip of the units. Like you I didn't look at the instructions and wound up with a similar result. I hope you enjoy the unit as much as I do. I look forward to your honest review of the Console 1 mixing system and how it compares to your SSL.
I have this combo and actually had a carpenter to build a custom stand for me(since those are a little hard to get where I live). About the colour knobs, I used green, white, blue and red rounded stickers to mimic a SSL channel strip aesthetic and it's great.
David, This is cool your doing this! Loved console 1 and worked great in my DAW logic X. Then got the fader and got disappointed as it does not have the “DAW control function”. -this is something that only works with some DAWs like studio one and a couple others. I kept hoping that they would eventually fix this but when talking with tech-support they made it sound like it was something Logic or DAW companies had to do, to make it more compatible. It maybe is a good point to bring up, because a lot of people are not so aware that the fader may not work so smoothly with daw control (depending on the daw you have). So in the end I went with Ssl uf8 and uc1-which has been great but I still hold out hope at some point that the console one Fader will be able to do DAW control with Logic x someday. If you got any push please tell softube to try to fix this issue. Enjoying the videos and really appreciated the segment on why you bought the origin console-very well said and I think for all your reasons -you made the right decision with getting the origin.
Hi David. It will be interesting to get your opinion on C-1's SSL emulation, since you have the boneriffic real deal, glowing in the background. I like mine quite a bit. I use it with my single channel original Faderport. I find it easier to tweak static levels with the C-1 rotary knob. I do wish Softube would make an "SSL corrected" option so the graphics reflected actual low cut and EQ on the graph without changing the authentic sound. Emulating the technical limitations of original hardware is sometimes taken too far.
sort of off topic, but anyone using Logic and console 1 lately? REALLY wanting to buy this but in the past read a lot of compatibility issues in LPX. Thanks for the review by the way.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Hmmmm, how should we do this with Fader units we buy second-hand from Guitar Center & Reverb that were registered to original owners before we purchased?
Buy the Console 1 Mixing system: imp.i114863.net/LPdNGL

More to come!

I use these units and love them. I have 2 faders with my setup. Great video Dave
Good to hear!

HI Ted, I know this as several people already told me...LOL. I corrected myself and the stand fits really well.

Good idea
Dude I love seeing your channel growing bigger
Thanks a ton!

You can use the fader as a regular controller
If you put the console 1 in midi mode you can control any 3 party plugin with it.
Cool!
I have both, and love this system!
Great!

I'll see the more I use it. I don't think a plugin will ever sound like the real console, but it still sounds good!

Check the Softube website for compatibility.
Is a license is needed for each device (like multiple of the "Fader" versions)?
no just 1 license but you need to register each serial number for each fader unit

Great content as usual!!!👍🏾
Appreciate it!
Looks pretty Nice!!!
It does!
I'd like to see it work with the UAD API Vision Console Emulation.
Maybe, will see
The cuts on the inside of the wood sides are for the consoles to go in ,)
I know
Quick Question: What is the height of the stand??? Thanks!!!
not sure. I would have to measure it. The specs are on the Sweetwater website
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Thanks!, I looked on Sweetwater but couldn't find the dimensions of the stand.
Does it work with UA Spark subscription plugins?
Yes, it should
I own this and I build my own stand
Nice!
Is it compatible with M1 Macs?
Yes
It is unfortunate that it does not have transport controls. That pretty much destroys it usefulness.
I understand your point but I think to say it totally destroys it's usefulness, is a bit much. Its still one of the best controllers on the market
NIce..
Thanks
