Thanks for the video. Mine wasn't broken, but the metal pin had somehow fallen out on one side. What a pain in the ass that was to put it back in. Every time I would put the armrest up in the correct position, the spring would wobble away from the hole. I tried putting a pin on the other side, but that didn't work. So I spent like 2 hours trying to get it through the spring. I finally realized that it'd be easier to take the black piece off, then I could hold the spring from the other side.
Yes. I absolutely hate the man who made this video. I wasted 3 hours of my life trying to put the pin back in. I realized that i could take the black part off and got it done in 4 minutes.
Lolol I stayed up super late trying to get this done in this car that I’m selling to a customer this morning. It was annoying, but I finally got the technique down. That pushing the pin through the holes and spring part is the worst. It took me about two to two and half hours of trial and error. Now I’m sure I can do it in less than 30 min.
Thank you so much, the only video I found teaching how to remove the actual engine the other one just showed how to remove the cover, mine is rlly broken I needed to remove everything so thank you
Just a thought. But maybe you could use a wire coat hanger cut down to a long length, that way you could put it completely through and use it for your actual pin to follow. Like pull the coat hanger piece as your pushing the pin through that way it acts as a guide rod of some sorts?
I think it's pretty easy to replace the fabric on top of the arm rest, if you just disassemble it a little more. This will save you a lot of money, compared to buying a new part from a dealer.
Yes, the hardest step will be putting the pin back through the springs. An hour and a half later, several finger cuts, and a slightly bent rod with zero success. Then I read the comments about taking off the cosmetic cover. Two hex screws and presto, everything is clearly visible. Now I can see exactly where the darn pin is going. Mission completed after a lot of wasted time. Oh well, hopefully others will include this step.

What a stupid design Honda! As with most cars, all it takes is two screws and off comes the armrest. This Honda design just lends itself to breakage during disassembly and incorrect re-installment.
I just purchased one from a local junk yard for $40. It was in excellent condition and worked perfectly.
They wanted $75 at my nearby junkyard. I talked him down to $45, $49 after tax.
Found 1 for 8$
@@jj5153 local junkyard they are underrated
Looked just at auto part stores online and they're like 300+ dollars there, crazy.
When you use flat head driver/panel clip remover, wrap electrical tape around the head so that it does not damage your interior parts.
no

I bough and installed one from a junkyard today for $49. Thanks for the video. (I talked him down from $75)
Im having trouble finding the leather version, anyone have recommendation?!
If you can find a cloth one, I would recommend getting it reupholstered. I recently had an order cancelled because parts are no longer made.
Lazaro Sanchez yikes, ill look into that. Thanks for the help!
Drop the arm rest off at an upholstery shop... they'll be thrilled to have such easy work.
This is very informative, but how do I market PPE during a pandemic?
