We shot some B-Ball in West Philly, and angered a Brooklyn gangster.. (How NOT to travel America #3)

Our comical boating chapter was over, and it was time to head through giant metropoli of New York and Philly. The plan was to lay low and recover in Bougie Brooklyn, but quite the opposite happened. Another mad night out ended in a 4am street football session which could have ended very badly indeed. In Philly we made amends by doing the most Philly things possible, before heading back out into the countryside to hunt for some Amish people and try our hand at hitchhiking.

I have to admit that I rushed to get this this one a bit, and as a result the audio isn't great at times (although being ill didn't help) and the subtitles are a bit sloppy too. That won't happen again.
Update: These vids are bigger and more labour intensive than I thought they'd be, and because the system I had going with my editor didn't really work, it's proving difficult to get them done in the planned time. As much as I'd like to release one a week, that isn't going to happen. I also need a Christmas break. Episode #4 will be out on January the 7th, and there will probably be one more two week break between #5 and #6. I'm pretty sure there will be 7 episodes in total.
This episode was a bit different to say the least. Please let me know what you thought of it in the comments, and don't forget to leave a like for Mike!

@@ogelsmogel I can help with that a little bit. Taking off a shirt may be seen more commonly because a shirt can be a choking hazard and the wearer might want to avoid ruining it. Taking shoes off sends a similar message. Shoes might be worn more for style than comfort so wearing them could cause a movement disadvantage in a fight. Taking them off indicates the challenger plans to wear these shoes again and he will fight seriously. It's also takes longer to take off shoes than a shirt so it's also effective as a stalling tactic. The fight would no longer be spontaneous punching but more planned. Now the opponent is distracted and at that point the fight isn't even likely to happen because he's able to break out of his tunnel vision and notice other choices. Also of note, the only person egging him on in the video is someone in the car behind his car who he doesn't even know. Once he can acknowledge everyone else is trying to get him back in his car he is able to settle down.

And all kicking some football outside of the pub

Started making trouble in my neighborhood

The license plate said "SEPTA" and it had a sneeze in the mirror
If anything, I could say that this train was hella
But I thought, "Nah, forget it"
      - "Yo, home to Philadelphia”
I pulled up to the court about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the ballers
"What we want to do is try a challenge"
      I looked at my kingdom
      I was finally at em’

Unfortunately 90% of Amish folk would not have been interested in being filmed for something like this. And yes, you are correct that the Amish are primarily in Eastern Lancaster County. Though there are some touristy Amish places in a nearby town called "Intercourse" (This isn't a joke that's literally the name of the town.)

I like how through the course of the channel's growth since HNTTEurope, this has gone from a show about how lucky two blokes can be hitchhiking to a demonstration of how a community can come together :) I wait in anticipation for the next volume of your journey!

The best part about this is how you show clips from the intro to Fresh Prince of Bel Air where his ball accidentally interrupts some street toughs and you had exactly the same experience just a couple nights previous.

As someone from Lancaster, I was really hoping that you would by some chance give the area a visit, and you delivered! I wish you would’ve been able to stay for longer because it really is a very cool city, but it seems like you got some great experiences and met some great people out of it. So thanks for this. It made me feel proud to be from Lancaster.

His buddy having to hold him back like he was a child that couldn’t handle his emotions was all we needed to know. Hotheaded dude! Glad it didn’t escalate into anything else. But on the other hand, y’all probably shouldnt be kicking that ball that close to a busy street 😂 That just seems like a recipe for danger. Great video tho man!

You know hes insecure when he thinks everything is someone “fuckin with” him, as if he has “opps” on the street that see his car drive past and go “look its that mf Jamal, kick the ball at his car” its pretty ridiculous honestly

Great to see you guys had a positive experience in the Lancaster area, even if you didn't get to meet any Amish. The rural areas east of Lancaster city are definitely more "Amish country", but they're scattered all over. Depending on the day and time, hitting one of the farmers markets in the area would've been a surefire way to check that box.

I really couldn't be more thrilled that you had such a great time in Philly! So glad that you came across so many great people (pretty much everyone you interacted with in this video is soooo Philly) and left with the exact impression of the city that makes us all love it here.
Also can't believe you almost went to my hometown of York! Wish y'all would have looked up an Amish flea market or furniture store, or too bad you weren't there on a day when the Central Market would have been open. But at least you got to experience Sheetz, that's the most southcentral PA thing you could've done. (Also hope multiple people corrected your pronunciation of Lancaster haha.)
Enjoying this series so much, can't wait for the rest of it!

I love how America has all the same named places as we do in England (York, Lancaster, Lincoln etc). It always puts a smile on my face at the connection between our two nations in that regard.
