The "weed" was just regular hemp, it's used to make ropes for sailboats, bags for hipsters, all that shit. It's technically the same plant, but there's a difference between male and female plants, because only one produces thc/cbd/etc. inside the plant, so only one is smokable. the other produces a material i could most closely compare to linen.
The female plant produces more fibers than the male plant. Cannabis is the worldest most usefull unused plant today! It's a great resource for thousands of products!

This series has shown me that it's not really a problem, you can go pretty much anywhere if you've got a positive attitude, the people are so wonderful, especially in the smaller villages. Fantastic stuff, Tom!

And also Michael the baker in Austria is well funny! Awesome adventure, thanks for sharing. Welsh Greg is a legend, even though he is a bit forgetful!
maybe because they think it's funny that foreigners think all cannabis is smokable ? i grew up in an area in the netherlands with a lot of hemp grown for fibers. that stuff looked the same, you could smoke it but it would not get you high, it did make nice tea though.
I was honestly sad when this series came to an end. You guys really captured the spirit of travel and adventure. Something magic happens when you let go and let the universe take you along for a ride. "Chance" suddenly becomes the norm, and you really see that happen in these videos. You guys captured that free spirit on camera and gave me good case of nostalgia and wanderlust. I look forward to seeing more adventures. If you're ever state side, give me a holla!
The amount of times I said HOW during watching this 😂😂 the amount of waffling and swindling you two managed was ridiculous, amazing people in every episode, just an incredible series
@MU NUFC I've been to the UK quite a few times I think you have awesome people there, too. :) Thing is, if you live in a country you are dragged down by the dullness of everyday life and bean counters get in your way more often than not (plus, you have to deal with local politics day in, day out), so you tend to think that everyone is just an arsehole.
@Mueed U That is where they learned how to do this. You start to get a knack for the kind of person that might help. Also, there was countless people that did not help them.
Tom, just wanted to thank you again for the really excellent subtitles, it makes a HUGE difference to people like me who have trouble with processing audio (or people who are deaf/HOH). I can officially say that your subtitles are better than most of the major tv networks/streaming services in the United States.
I don't think I can put in to words how much I liked this series, just the sheer wholesomeness of it. I mean all you have to do is look at the credits, and you'll see all of these completely random people only sharing one thing in common, which was helping out these to random guys. The vibes are immaculate the whole way through, the weather, people and scenery is amazing, it provides encouragement that the world is a good place, and we will, one day, be able to go back to normal. I keep coming back to this as an escape from normal life, there's nothing else like it online, love you man, what an amazing journey.
This reminds me of the good days of youtube, a simpler time. The only series I come back to on youtube and I patiently wait for and click on imidiatly once a new video is released.

The bit where there is a pharmacy directly opposite your injury is so funny, and it really sums up your trip - unlikely perfection. Make no mistake lads, this was the trip of a lifetime.
The narration in this is so well written. Id love to not only experience a trip like this with a good mate but also having these and commentary and being able to show people must be amazing. This has definitely inspired me to want to do something similar
This is gold. Really, who else is doing this? Genuinely, I want to know because this really does open my eyes. The whole series, from start to finish was brilliant but... I must admit I could only manage the first 15 minutes of this episode tonight (less than half :D) because of prior drunken engagements. BUT .....the lovely family, not only having a tractor but not even knowing where it is and offering it without a second thought, is heartwarming. Please keep doing this, I've seen many channels promote their patreon but I have never before felt like I'm inclined to do so because of the quality of the content.....Until now. PS god bless jerry EDIT I decided my deadline could wait and finished the vid, only to find you shared the same points of people and things. The only addition from my previous is RIP Jim x
Go watch Iohan Gueorguiev's I wanted to see the world series. He rides a bike from northern Canada to Argentina and has tons of interactions with locals and their great hospitality. He even learns spanish that way.
I finished watching the American series a few days ago, and came back to watch this. Although America was great, there is something so carefree about the European way of living. Everyone was so easy going and being able to hitchhike adds so much spontaneity! Thinking about planning my own trip like this very soon.

''We approached David luiz who was on the sidelines where he belongs'' Brother I am crying with laughter after hearing this. I don't know where I have been and why I didn't knew about this masterpiece of series! This is incredible and so much wholesome. Whenever I feel low about this planet and about Humanity, somehow humanity shows a glimpse of it in a very subtle way. From every person who helped you guys and at least tried to help you, they are reason why this earth is still livable and why we humans are so close to each other but yet we don't understand about it. This series will remain with me forever, not only for the love and affection of the humans, also the brave and inspiring journey of yours and Elegant yet humorous writing with this masterpiece. Hope you guys will do something like this and it will be awesome. Subbed and Notification on for the future journeys of yours. Sorry for my bad english, Love from India.
Despite being a regular viewer of Tom's since early 2020 and watching all the straight line/no roads etc videos in addition to the Geogessur stuff, I never felt like watching this series until Tom mentioned it in his new video where he talked about planning a US version and how much he liked it. What a treat and I can't believe I never sat down to watch this before, this would be great for anyone to watch!
This has honestly been one of the best watches ever. I was suggested this by someone in the comment section of the scotland video and to be honest i thought that this was just going to be a b tek holiday vlog. Boy was i wrong. This is probably one of the best example of the largely unseen human interaction and kindness that we have so lacked for the past year and a half. There couldn’t have been a better reminder to me a fashion student living in New york city, how much people all around the world matter. Thank you Tom & welsh Greg you absolute beauties.
When I watched the first episode I thought this series, while good, couldn't match the magical Mission Across Wales; I thought it was a bit too busy, not (semi) relaxing like the other. But come that point in episode 2 when you found that egg-serving thing in the middle of the countryside, I had realised that this series is not only on par (maybe even better) than the Wales Mission, but easily one of the best things I've seen on TH-cam. I especially liked the parts where you were traveling through open country, because (this is also what made the Mission Across Wales series great in my opinion) it felt serene, but also very funny thanks to the unparalleled fantasticness that is you and Greg. I think my favourite episode was the kayak one. Hearing George Ezra's Shotgun in January 2020 was pretty surreal to say the least.
Well fuck. This made me incredibly happy to see the journey, but also incredibly sad about the fact that we've missed so many human connections this past year. You guys got so lucky with the timing of it all.

maybe because they think it's funny that foreigners think all cannabis is smokable ?
i grew up in an area in the netherlands with a lot of hemp grown for fibers.
that stuff looked the same, you could smoke it but it would not get you high, it did make nice tea though.
@@Taliesin6 Netherlands has hemp growing there? Thought this only grows near the equator.
As a person from Redditch myself I nearly spat my drink out when a random person in Austria had even heard of It let alone lived here!
Thing is, if you live in a country you are dragged down by the dullness of everyday life and bean counters get in your way more often than not (plus, you have to deal with local politics day in, day out), so you tend to think that everyone is just an arsehole.
seriously if the world has a protagonist it's these two boys right here haha everyone they met treated them like royalty
@Mueed U That is where they learned how to do this. You start to get a knack for the kind of person that might help. Also, there was countless people that did not help them.
Yes, I didn't know GeoWizard was sent from Lichfield Cathedral to scout out churches in Germany (and Austria) wtf?
Tom, just wanted to thank you again for the really excellent subtitles, it makes a HUGE difference to people like me who have trouble with processing audio (or people who are deaf/HOH). I can officially say that your subtitles are better than most of the major tv networks/streaming services in the United States.
Never in the decade that I've been watching TH-cam have I ever seen a series as incredible as this one. My friends and I absolutely LOVED this series.
Shyguy33Games I’m over the moon that this series has touched you and your friends in such a way.
@@GeoWizard If your travels ever take you to the Seattle area, my friends and I would gladly help you the best we could.
maybe check out The Rickshaw Run by jack harries - not the same but I think you still might like it
Just re watching this in January 2021, Shit I miss the old world :( Defiantly going to explore the world again when this is all over!
I'll never forget this series, this is genually the most beautiful thing, completely encapsulates the human experience
Redditch isn't that bad when you drive through it quickly.
It’s bad when you live in the middle of it
I unfortunately used to live near it
Which is really easy - it's pretty much all dual carriageways
I say the same thing about Birmingham and Manchester and London
Jesus, felt really emotional as Greg waved you off from the pavement. What a series, one of the best on TH-cam
maddest lads in all of madlandia
Tom acting like he never saw a cat in his life outside a bakery.
40 minutes. YESSSSSS
I'm sad to see this series over but at the same time so happy you brought this inspiration and sense of adventure into my life. From one mad lad to another, all the best.
NotoriousMAN1 have you watched his journey across wales?
NotoriousMAN1 proud and elated to have had that effect. Thanks for supporting mate!
damn this ending almost got me tearing up
This is literally best content on youtube.
I can't put in words the amount of enjoyement i go through while watching an episode of this series.
M i k e thanks mike, means the world!!
“she could bond with over its shitness” being from near Birmingham, that line got me dead lol
same hahahhahah
I literally read this comment just as he said that 😹
absolutely brilliant!! Loved every single second of this series...I'm sad its over...but man....i'm a fan for LIFE....you are such a great presenter and your adventures are genuine and truly inspiring. Thank you SO much for existing and being you. :0p sending love and mad respect to you and your friends, family and supporters.
Bricktowne Media I came here to comment exactly this. I can’t wait for the next adventure!
Thanks so much man, comments like yours are filling me with happiness and making the slog that has been this last months editing more than worthwhile !
@@GeoWizard you are a natural at narration mate keep it up. love from australia
I know I'm over a year late, but this is absolutely different class. Bravo.
The bit where there is a pharmacy directly opposite your injury is so funny, and it really sums up your trip - unlikely perfection.
Make no mistake lads, this was the trip of a lifetime.
"The people of Buongiorno island" in the credits.
I love it mate 👍
nothing can explain the dopamine rush experienced when i get a notification telling me geowizard posted a new vid
This is by far the best series ive ever seen on youtube, hands down
The narration in this is so well written. Id love to not only experience a trip like this with a good mate but also having these and commentary and being able to show people must be amazing. This has definitely inspired me to want to do something similar
this is 100% the best way to travel Europe, views and experiences are great and all but they're all the better experienced with people.
On this episode: See how Tom's gooch is doing.
20:45
Here's the church
Here's the steeple
Look out Parndorf
Here comes 2 crazy people.
PS god bless jerry
EDIT I decided my deadline could wait and finished the vid, only to find you shared the same points of people and things. The only addition from my previous is RIP Jim x
Go watch Iohan Gueorguiev's I wanted to see the world series. He rides a bike from northern Canada to Argentina and has tons of interactions with locals and their great hospitality. He even learns spanish that way.
@@skitstroppo thanks!
Dale Cooper that shits dangerous af. U can’t get away with the same stuff in Europe as South America
Simon Wilson has a couple of great videos like this. Some of his older videos are especially great.

10:24 Ah yes the classic 'if in doubt, just say "genau".'
I finished watching the American series a few days ago, and came back to watch this. Although America was great, there is something so carefree about the European way of living. Everyone was so easy going and being able to hitchhike adds so much spontaneity! Thinking about planning my own trip like this very soon.
10:37 That was a bloody good "servus"
Ikr? I somehow got so proud of him when I heard it :D
06:00 I love these soundtracks, seriously. I could listen to it all day every day.
Hes bringing out an album soon I think
@@nrrw Yes, right. He posted an announcement a few days ago, I think. I look forward to it sooo much!
This is pure perfection man. My absolute favourite show on youtube. Thank you very dearly for giving us a chance to follow along on this brilliant trip. I cannot wait for more content like this. SO brilliant. Thank you.
im watching this on may 2022 and I realised in minute 2:45 they say "the only possible outcome is war"...
Great to see two mates spending quality time together that they’ll always remember.
Great to see people from Cardiff getting out and about and media! You never see much about my country anywhere!
Wales population is pretty small though, and a lot of them are actually English people who live near the border.
Braze IAR yeah Newport & the North are full of the English but Cardiff and West Wales are surprising full :)
I'm honestly so glad that I discovered this channel. This was an amazing and very engaging series and I just wanted to let you know Geowizard that you bring happiness to a lot of people with these videos, including me and my friends.
"we're very hot, y'know?... we need to seek refuge" lol, i love the vocal justification. great video series, tom!
This series has really reminded me how good and kind most people really are, no matter where you go. It's easy to forget that in today's world. Thank you for that 👌
Edit: I wrote this about halfway through the video, before I heard you conclude the video with almost exactly the same words 😅
''We approached David luiz who was on the sidelines where he belongs''
Brother I am crying with laughter after hearing this.
Sorry for my bad english,
Love from India.
Never change Tom, your videos are the antidote to Instagram travelistas :)
Testing my reflexes I see
"New how (not) to travel Europe video"
Me: 26:17
Hahaha yes
good job :p
This made me laugh more than I have at any video recently. Well done.
That woman at 40:54 was not having it
I just can’t even talk about how much I love this man and this series especially
I mean straight line missions are great and all but that one is equally awesome
