Crazy to watch this and see how his game has evolved! Lowest score was a 64 (-8) but that was before college got in the way :/ just happy to be in the low 70s now! i wish you the best of luck! Also karls dad, I love how you support Karl no matter his score and focus on his attitude. So refreshing to see that! Cant wait to watch you on tv someday.
Outstanding swag little brother and your pre-May swing is 1000% fully back and stronger...keeping it simple you have ALL the shots back in your bag just play the GAME eat well sleep well then repeat...Rejoice your accomplishments with close ones. :-)
This young Aussie was such a promising golfer 10 years ago - - with natural deployment of Biomechanics (Intuition or otherwise), executing dead accurate approach shots to the green with massive ball spinning!
jasataja Thanks. It's not rocket science, but so many coaches get caught up on technical issues and actually harm a swing in the process. I'm just a typical dad who believes in keeping things simple for my son, so all Karl needs to be told is to get his backswing higher, etc, and he finds a way to do it without having to have a ton of swing thoughts racing through his mind. Cheers
Hey guys love the videos!!! I need a bit of help though. How can I improve my match scores? I shot high 30 in practice but lose it during matches and shoot 40s is there any tips you can give me??
You're tightening up when you're out of your comfort zone. As Karl's Dad and having one through this exact same problem when I was a junior, I insisted that from age 9, that Karl put his name down on Saturday's members sheet on the first line and to let adult members add their names alongside his. As such, he was usually playing with people he didn't know and it taught him to bring his A game out regardless of who he played with. I hope this helps. Cheers
+Karl Vilips thanks for the input! Great work with Karl and best of luck to you both in the future! You definitely just got another subscriber! Cheers!
Hey just wanted to check back in with yall! I started playing with random people everyday at my local course. This grew my confidence and recently shot my first even par round for my school team! I just wanted to thank you so much for the advice it really helped! Cheers
this exact same problems happen with me. when I play with my team at practice, I usually shoot 30s but when I play in tournaments, I shoot in the 100s. that's on 18 holes of course and that means I shoot in the 40s on 9 holes. I don't feel nervous or any thing though.
also when I'm on the range, warming up for the tournament, I carry my driver to 230. but when I get to my first hole, I totally blow it, it probably barely goes 190 honestly. but I don't feel nervous. do you have any suggestions for that
If I was to give some advice to karl on those spinners he hits I would ask him to take one more club and rotate his forearms through the shot to cut down on the spin especially on soft greens like pinehurst. After you master it its just a matter of landing the ball ! Best regards Karl
+Xavier Parmenter Yes, Par 72. For your future reference, the link to the Leaderboard and a whole bunch of other info is in the "About" section of every video we ever do. Cheers
Joey Miller There's a whole bunch of reasons Joey- too many to explain right here. Karl's actually tightening up his swing currently to take out the big misses which his swing which you see here can cause. Jason Day & Rory have similar swings and also hit the ball a mile, but their misses kill them too. Cheers
US Kids look at your resume on a case by case basis, but you need to have been posting reasonable scores, the parameters of which are available on their website. Cheers
charlie watson golf There are a few reasons; 1. The ball: He uses the Bridgestone B330rxs which spins a lot. 2. The wedge model is the new Taylormade Tour Preferred which creates heaps of spin. 3. The shaft in his wedges. He uses the KBS Tour V wedge model. It also adds spin. 4. Karl hits the ball on the way down as opposed to most amateurs who hit their wedges the same way as they do their other clubs. Hitting down creates backspin. Try it for yourself with a tennis ball by hitting your hand down behind it on the kitchen bench and watch how it spins back. Hopefully this will help you generate more spin on your wedges. Cheers
When I'm on tour, I gotta see Karl in the tortument I'm in (2025 US Open at Oakmont or The Greenbrier classic because I'm a West Virginian) Gotta keep my fingers crossed.
Padraig Walsh You can check that out on the US Kids Golf website. It's pretty much having to show that you can shoot a minimum score, yet some hacks still somehow manage to get in. Cheers
TheGolfer231 I would love to caddy for Karl, but when you have kids of your own you'll discover that caddying for your own kid is a nightmare. There are some good interviews floating around of PGA players who speak about how badly they treated their parents as caddies when they were juniors. Cheers
My bad then. Far too many people are soooo uptight about things like fashion and showing a bit of showmanship, whilst losing focus on the fact that Karl plays some pretty neat golf. Cheers
I don't think the approach was "cruel" at 3:50. I believe the shot choice was wrong especially to a back pin. Should have played it more like a pitch shot with his pitching wedge or 52 and let the ball hop and stop. Still great golf from karl
+XxSlaggzx X You're a harsh man. You're totally right, but he was only 12 years old then. It takes years to develop those broader skills. Look at Karl's game now.
what a great swing, 4 year ago you need to move away from cam as he is leading you away from what is you then.... please dont be another lydia ko like the Aswing concept
Karl Vilips true my bad he's a very talented player I just felt the club chuck wasn't needed but I have a lot of respect for him and how he's developed. He's great to watch!
This kid will go on to win a PGA tour, my god.
Peril Ailj Finger's crossed.
Will be on
I will be really shocked, if we don't get to see this guy on tour.
Eugene Kim he won’t just make he will on tour
I love how Karl is watching his drive at the end even though it was right down the middle, shows how he is always looking for perfection
Good point there Owen.
WOW. I can't believe my eyes! He is amazing!! His swing is so smooth!
I use to watch this channel back in 2013ish and I just found his tiktok recently. Glad to see he’s still on a great track
Dude the spin on that first one was crazy. Karl is going to be amazing can't wait to see him on the tour.
The flag added a ton of spin. It was great to see Karl it, as it would have next to the flag if it hadn't hit it.
Cheers
If I got to four under I’d go and make a quad on the last hole
What a brilliant player!! Just subscribed. The spin he gets shows how pure he hits it
I like how the caddy has "Koala Karl" for his name lol

Thank you Connor.
Im 11 and my best round is 3+ thru 18. Karl is my inspiration keep it up
Good work Gerrard.
Gerrard Luscher that’s good I’m 13 my best is + 4 76
Outstanding swag little brother and your pre-May swing is 1000% fully back and stronger...keeping it simple you have ALL the shots back in your bag just play the GAME eat well sleep well then repeat...Rejoice your accomplishments with close ones. :-)
Great stuff again Buddy, Great short game. You have a wonderful short game, keep at it dude.
+Them_Two Cheers
I wouldn't be surprised if we see Karl on the pga tour later on. He has some major talent I wish he could teach me lol.
+Riley Truax Thanks Riley.
Damnit, Karl. Your swing is so sweet. Chase the tour, dude!
Thank you Damian.
What do you do when you train? Who do you watch on tour? What do you Focus most on when you swing?
This young Aussie was such a promising golfer 10 years ago - - with natural deployment of Biomechanics (Intuition or otherwise), executing dead accurate approach shots to the green with massive ball spinning!
You can really see the improvements in his swing; becoming very Jason Day-like. Keep up the good work :)

Karl Vilips Yep for sure, same thing my dad told me :)
Karl Vilips When you say thanks, is it you Karl or his dad? I dont get this channel. Tell him his good tho, i get inspired by the vids! (as a 25yrold)
Can't wait to follow you in your journey thru q school!
That'll be a few years away yet.
Cheers

Karl is on the run again, what a golf athlete! Green jacket.. What my words
Hi tell karl he awsome at golf and well done for winning junior and has he changed putters?
James Claydon golf It's an old one that he put into play for 2 rounds. You know the deal- it's never the player's fault, right?
Cheers
At 0:23, did Karl ground his club in the bunker? Either way, great golf! See you on tv!
It was a waste bunker, so he was allowed to ground his club.
You're really good
If I was to give some advice to karl on those spinners he hits I would ask him to take one more club and rotate his forearms through the shot to cut down on the spin especially on soft greens like pinehurst. After you master it its just a matter of landing the ball ! Best regards Karl
Was the par 72
That must of been a good round
+Xavier Parmenter Yes, Par 72. For your future reference, the link to the Leaderboard and a whole bunch of other info is in the "About" section of every video we ever do.
Cheers
How old is karl
What is your best round Karl
+Xavier Parmenter 63 at an AJGA event in Ringgold, Georgia in June last year. There's a video of it.
Cheers
Whose Karl's caddy
How does he drive the ball that far I have been trying to but it doesn't go far enough nd then I lose
Joey Miller There's a whole bunch of reasons Joey- too many to explain right here. " He has the simplest of chips. Should walk away with a birdie. " Lol your expectations are too low dad.
It's occasions like that when Dad's love being proved wrong. LOL
Thank you
so how did karl get to play in this tournament? did he have to play in other us kids tournaments to get exempt to this one?
US Kids look at your resume on a case by case basis, but you need to have been posting reasonable scores, the parameters of which are available on their website.
Cheers
the guy at left at 6:30 really has a long driver!!
Who’s the lefty Karl was playing with?
Scott Roden.
amazing
Did Karl switch putters?
Ricky Schwartz Just for 2 rounds. His technique went awry for a few weeks.
Cheers
I’m a fan of Carl but even more so his dad!
Talented kid with a great swing and some future ahead of him if he stays focused and grounded not get carried away with any hype around him
Well said. Off to Stanford next year.
@@KarlGolf good lad good luck with that and your golfing progress too obviously lol
Can u ask Karl how he spins the ball a lot from the fairway
charlie watson golf There are a few reasons;
1. The ball: He uses the Bridgestone B330rxs which spins a lot.
2. The wedge model is the new Taylormade Tour Preferred which creates heaps of spin.
3. The shaft in his wedges. He uses the KBS Tour V wedge model. It also adds spin.

How good I have never had 1
I wish I was as good as Karl.
When I'm on tour, I gotta see Karl in the tortument I'm in (2025 US Open at Oakmont or The Greenbrier classic because I'm a West Virginian) Gotta keep my fingers crossed.
We'll see you there.
Hi Connor
Thank u
How would you qualify from this
Padraig Walsh You can check that out on the US Kids Golf website. It's pretty much having to show that you can shoot a minimum score, yet some hacks still somehow manage to get in.
Cheers
What handicap is he
Plus 4.3, with all scores coming from tournament play.
i wish i had karls talent and his life
+Nuala Dempster There's an old saying- "Be careful what you wish for". Cheers
if I'm not wrong you playing with will lodge
No. Karl was with Scott Roden and an Indian player.
Close, but no prize.
Lmao the dude behind him at 3:00, 7 years older and +70 pounds, sandbagging, is so mad that a kid is out driving him
Karl using a new putter?
You dont caddie for Karl?
TheGolfer231 I would love to caddy for Karl, but when you have kids of your own you'll discover that caddying for your own kid is a nightmare. There are some good interviews floating around of PGA players who speak about how badly they treated their parents as caddies when they were juniors.

who is karls caddy
In this tournament it was Tyler Zoelnner.
Cheers
Is a player considered bad if he shoots low 80 in tournaments
+I Know Baseball How long is a piece of string?
struggling to birdie twice in a round, he struggles not to :P
I would hate if someone picks up my ball from the cup.
The kid didn't realize it was a no-no. We still broke both his legs though. LOL
What's with the club twirls
Did you never so anything fun, Dylan? Lighten up a bit buddy. These kids are having fun.
Cheers
Are you kidding I love the club twirls that's the bad thing about the internet you can't tell the tone of the person I love club twirls
My bad then. Far too many people are soooo uptight about things like fashion and showing a bit of showmanship, whilst losing focus on the fact that Karl plays some pretty neat golf.

Has karl got a new putter?
jebuzzz big celebratio der
what a great swing, 4 year ago you need to move away from cam as he is leading you away from what is you then.... please dont be another lydia ko like the Aswing concept
Why did he chuck the club after his chip in for eagle on the floor he should have given it to the caddy. Not very respectful 😕
Lighten up Sachin. Instead of complimenting the good shot, you've commented on that instead. Focus on the positives.
Karl Vilips true my bad he's a very talented player I just felt the club chuck wasn't needed but I have a lot of respect for him and how he's developed. He's great to watch!
Sachin Pathak it's called excitement.... it's a human emotion
Sachin Pathak that's what caddies are meant for
