- Junior golfer Will Lodge playing in the 2013 US Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst, NC from August 1-3, 2013. Will played in the 9 year old division at Pinehurst #1 at the Pinehurst Resort. He shot 79, 77, 76 over the 54-hole three day tournament and placed 28th out of an international field of 138. The course played to 4,633 yards, where hole yardages ranged from 109-139 for par 3s, 215-305 for par 4s, and 366-418 for par 5s. The event included more than 1,200 kids aged 6-12 from over 30 countries.
Congrats to our friends:
- Ben James, who won this year's 10 yr old division (@ 14 under par!),
- Jeevan Sihota, who won Will's 8 yr old division last year, and
- Alexander Yang, who won the 9-10 yr old division at this year's Callaway Junior Worlds! - กีฬา

Austin Hand yes I agree very much, our school is pretty much based on our football team and everyone hates golf and thinks hitting a ball with a "Stick" is simple though they have never played it before
+Hockey For Life exactly people think it doesn't require that much skill, yet when they try it they barely hit the ball 20 yards
Firezzo XD whats funny is for the last day of school, our school made a pretty simple mini golf course that closely resembled a normal course green. I was the best one there and everyone who thought it was easy got at least a 40 (9 putting greens)

This kid is amazing for 9. Im thirteen and been golfing for 11 years and I don't think I'm that good.
This kid has a great future, even though people are saying that he is not good and how he plays so far up from most tee positions, they must realize that he is 9, and that is normal for his age.

funny how the old men who obsess over golf "etiquette" always seem to be the ones playing slow as shit, not letting people play through, making my groups rounds take five and a half hours. Quit worrying about other things and move the ball ya old fart
I believe I played in this in this same year and about a year before I had dreams of placing inside top 25 as a 12 year old but I got in a horrible reck and couldn't play for 6 months so I had 6 months to recover and got like 43 but i would love to go back there and play again.

never compare your self as a pro golfer cause it takes years and years of pratice to get to that leavel its one of the most steess full games thear is and one of the hardest games to play and its a very high dollar game i do play the game of golf but onley for fun and peace and quiet it helps my mind clear

Short game was pretty impressive. Like stated before, i just dont like the caddie aspect at this age. I will also point out one thing, with age comes power, with power comes aggressive shots, with aggressive shots comes lost balls. I know they are young but once they can hit the ball 300 off the tee, a lot can go wrong really fast! The short drives without a lot of ball movement off the tee makes for forgiving shots.
The caddies are absolutely essential at this age. Otherwise you have 100 5-10 year olds haphazardly wandering their way through a golf course. With the younger ones forgetting what they are even doing there 2 holes in. Even the older kids 9-11 still really need that presence to keep them focused and on task for every single shot and making good decisions. Then once the kids turn 12, from 12 on through high school so 17-18 they should play alone without the caddy to learn to manage the game on their own. I agree its good to have the juniors start learning to manage their own way around the loop from an early age. However the world championships with 100+ other kids isn’t the time for that. Hell 98% of adult players are not capable of managing their own way around an entire round of golf properly.
