An Oral History of the Laursen-Copeland Sediment Transport Function (ft. Dr Ron Copeland)

We are recording a podcast for the Regional Sediment Management Program (The RSM River Mechanics Podcast) and had an opportunity to talk to Dr. Ron Copeland.
But after we recorded the podcast, I also asked Dr. Copeland about two more technical topics, equations and algorithms that he developed that we later included in HEC-RAS. This one is on the Lausen-Copeland sediment transport function. We are turning these into stand-alone videos for the HEC-RAS user manual.

I hardly ever find myself using Lursen-Copeland given the river system I model in Australia are sand dominated. Nonetheless, good to know!
