HuaHua came straight from the airport, wore the clothes he had on, and performed immediately. No rehearsal. Holding the light in his hand was an ad lib. You can see how comfortable he is on stage. He's always been awkward as himself (as opposed to a character in a song) so the bit with the microphone was strictly him being him. You really should watch his audition for Superboy. Hahaha I love his battle with the mic stand at the end. You're so right that when not performing he's adorably awkward & that's all him. I believe he did a very brief rehearsal according to some fans although certain party gave the impression that he came & fantastically performed straight off the bat. Cheers.
He is an exceptionally humble, kind, shy and introverted person. His music is his story and when he is on stage, he becomes the essence of his compositions. No other artist I know who lives the music as he does. When the music stops you will sometimes find him having to shake his head to bring himself back to the present. Thank you for this reaction. I know that it is not always great for reactors to do the same artists over and over, but Hua Hua is a very very special person so will be here as long as he is :)

I've witnessed lots of singers but very few artists and Chenyu is 1 of them, he is more than just a singer but a true artist! The BEST artist / musician / performer / composer / storyteller through songs and music on stage in the world, no 1 can make me feel things like he does! The only artist so far that I like ALL of his songs!

When Hua finishes his performances, sometimes there's little gestures that are cute and shows a little added personalities. Hua's songs whether covered or his own have very meaningful lyrics which may help to understand why he interprets the way he does. Hope you continue your journey in discovering more of his talents. The song was named after the unique and slightly vicissitudes of the animal concept like "Jackdaw"

Hi Will, the end where he wrestled with the mic stand wasn't an act but it was a treat seeing him lugging it off stage dressed nearly like a maintenance staff 😄😄😄 If you continue watching Singer 2020, you'd get to see his character on and off stage. I love him, he's such a charismatic performer. I can't wait until you see home more of this performances during the season of Singer 2020. Looking forward to it!! I know he doesn't get as many view as other artists but he is really unique.
Hi Will, so happy you got back to Hua, for this episode he arrived minutes before broadcasting started, therefore he had not time for rehearsal and he's in his travel clothes... The “Bullfighting ”MV is really great! After six months of production, it is extraordinary. It can't be described as special with words, its significance is very deep, and it is about the respect and awe of life and nature. You must personally appreciate and think about its content.

Thank you. I love this particular performance of this song. Particularly the part where he seemed to be holding the light. Very impactful. At the end part where he picked up the base n carried the mic off stage, he probably felt that that's the least he should do cos he 'damaged' it.🤣 That's who he is, very kind and thoughtful.
As far as I know, Hua Chenyu has only written lyrics for 3 of his own songs. He has always explained that he's good with music but not with words. But he knows what he wants so he'll work with the lyricist till the lyrics express exactly what he wants to say. Hua told his fans during his concert that for his song- I Want to Love This World So Much- the lyricist had to write 3 different sets of lyrics till Hua was satisfied. Hua dedicated this song to people suffering from depression. On the programme where Hua is one of the 4 hosts- Ace vs Ace Season 5 episode 11, Hua's good friend whom he calls 2nd (elder) Sister disclosed that last year Hua was telling them about this new song he wrote but she and her husband thought the lyrics were a little odd. Hua then confessed that he had wanted to jump off the balcony! There wasn't any explanation given but Hua was under a lot of stress particularly in 2018 and he could have been depressed too. Thankfully, he's much better now. (Mainly because of the programme Ace vs Ace. He started hosting it last year Season 4 with 3 other hosts whom he grew very close to. There's a marked difference in Hua in Season 5 as to the beginning of Season 4.)
That's why his fans, they're called ETs, always tell him to eat more and sleep more.
Hua said that in order to keep his voice clean to sing well, he'd go without food for 3 days before a performance!

I don't think he's playing a character here. If you watch his concert videos, you'll see that this is just how he performs. Also, this is the OST he wrote for a TV show called (in English) "Fight Breaks Sphere". If you're interested in watching the series, it's available on line with English subtitles (there are 45 episodes). The bit at the end where he has trouble with the mic stand isn't part of the act; the stand did actually come out of the base. ;-)
