It finally arrived and I melted the paint off the walls with it in fifteen minutes. Nothing comes close to how much fun this perfect example of a drum synth that is totally performable literally is. Erica synths knocked it out of the park! 👽🙏
Very satisfying sounds. I love the bass drones and sub-basses. But then I also like how the snare, somehow just about grounds it in the familiar. Nice chewy hats too. The official drum machine of the Miami dolphins. But the Drexciyan Cetaceans, not the ballers.
i use gear like this to make super ambient weird bright arpy textures, then i sample that to make downtempo slow rap beats.think cloudrap circa 2013.unlimited samples from my own synths.
@@iwillnevergetone5 sure, I'll maybe have a go in a few years. I could trade stuff but I couldn't justify trading three boxes for one drum machine. And I mean there are other expensive synths I'd like to get before this one. Still seems to be a great tool for sure. It's a matter of priorities ;)
@@TristanBaldi i know what you mean. everytime i hear an Erica demo (especially with headphones since they have great lows hiding in their machines) i start thinking about how to make it happen haha
In the first jam around 56 seconds, it looks like he's live triggering the ratchets temporarily? What's going on there? Would be a sick trick, but the manual doesn't mention it.
Thanks for the demos! However, it would be nice to have an update for everyone who already preordered, as the price recently went up by 50€ and delivery date has been pushed back to end of August. Also, it is currently not available for preorder anymore in your shop, as opposed to what is stated in the video description. I‘m not trying to be pushy, really just looking forward to explore my unit - but a bit more communication would be great. Nobody is mad at you when supply chain issues are a problem again, but just let us know.
Great demo! Love the first track, the werk! Dnb track is heat. Bass business and business bass both bangers. As well as the sounds you put together in other tracks
That guy could make a Korg Volca Beats sound great. Its all in the person doing the demo, not the gear itself. The average Joe could no more replicate the guy doing this demo than some kid who just got a Squier strat for his birthday is gonna instantly sound like Jimi Hendrix
It has been a long time that I have actually been excited about a new instrument.... Except Moog One ;). This instrument is going to be my go to for drums besides the Techno System and Elektron Rythm MKII, Soma Pulsar.
Great human, I'm sure they could make any piece of gear sound good in a demo. Which I think is a point lots of people will miss in a video like this sadly. The person using the machine is obviously highly skilled at both sound design and musical composition. It's like watching Slash or Jimmy Page demo the latest guitars - they will all sound great in their hands regardless of the instrument and its quality. The Perkons seems great but it will not give people new ideas or skills, that has to come with practise and effort, like any task in life.
Actually a really good way to put it. Idk how many pieces of gear I’ve bought and returned because I wasn’t patient enough to sit and grasp the entirety of its functions.
I have Combined it with the I/IV from Division Dept. that and a SP-2400 from Isla to Voice Up a Little. Don't even use my RYTM MK 1 anymore because the HD-1 is much better for the Sound I imagine, which goes into Dark and Industrial-ish and Experimental Areas. I also needed to sell some stuff to get my Hands on the HD-1 but Man, was it worth it. The greatest Thing is the Dynamic Triggering - for me, as a Drummer with about 30 yrs of Experience, this was I was hoping for to Perform Patterns in No Time at All which can't be Programmed that fast. Sooo Happy, I'm a real Erica Synths Fanboy (also very Happy with my Fusion System 2) and wouldn't mind Hang Banners from Erica Synths on Stage. Now I'll save for the SYNTRX II..
Love and appreciate all your videos (especially for the M8, which I have also not yet received 😸) I do do hope to see some tutorials for the Perkons from you as well 🤍
Sounds and looks great! Very feature rich. Way too expensive for me though. But I'd rather pay for this than an Analog Rytm mk2 :) I wouldn't mind if we could buy each voice, sequencer (with the lfo maybe) and fx section seperately as individual units, or something along those lines 😊
Can u do other genres with it?? is it capable of other sounds/sonic textures, different drums or does it have the same droney, industrial, tinny sound throughout??
For me, erica synths are in the dance/techno area what Roland used to be in the 80s and 90s. The devices are just so innovative and have a completely unique sound, finally completely new drums that are not just based on 808 and 909. In my opinion, hybrid synthesizers are the future. No matter whether the Perkons, the techno system or the bassline or the effects, zen delay for example. All of these devices sound like a blast and are built to a very high standard. Unfortunately my priority at the moment is an Oberheim or ob6 otherwise I would definitely have a perkons or the techno system.
Could buy an MPC keys and still have money left over… and the MPC keys can do everything this does x 1000 and sounds better. This is another pseudo drum machine that makes weird noises mostly nobody is ever going to use in any released songs. Nice fiddle machine.
I love it, is there anybody else who is hearing Sonic Charge/Microtoniq VST at 2:54 till 6.50 :) what an incredible drum machine but very expensive, so i keep it with Microtoniq :(
@@frydac The 808 has different button indentations, than Fl Studio and the Erica . Then again the step lights on the Erika and the 808 are the same. The grey and colour feel are very strikingly matching on the Erica and FL Studio. Image-Line probably made it as a homage to the 808.

Yea i was bummed that other vid wasnt longer then i found this
I wish I liked these genres of music, because the gear looks sick.
what musical genre(s) do you like ?
I mean, even though they utilize this for one genre doesn't mean it can't be used for other genres.
I hate a lot of electronic music but, nothing is set in stone you realize? Things like this blow the doors open.
