    I hope human beings will move away from the model that 'progress' means constant growth, and many more humans. I think of Las Vegas which continues to grow, essentially a city built in a desert yet people continue to move there, even as water becomes more scarce and aquifers are being drawn down dramatically in some parts of the world.

      marie Perez Who said I do not care about the message? I do actually. Unlike other people watching these videos, care more why stars like Julia Roberts talk in it. I do not care about that. I just pointed out that Joaquin's voice is very powerful and he DOES care about the planet living a vegan lifestyle (that is why it is him) You probably misunderstood my comment. x

    I love these videos but I think it should be known that there will always be the same amount of water on Earth as there ever was, unless of course we ship it off the planet, what's more important is that we don't dam the water or alter it's natural course. The reason some people have little access to clean drinking water is over population of infertile areas.

    I am water. To …(1)…humans I am simply just there. I’m something they just take for …(2)…granted. But there is only so much of me. And more and more of them every …(3)…single day. I start as rain in the …(4)…mountains. Flow to the rivers and …(5)…streams. And end up in the …(6)…ocean. Then the …(7)…cycle begins again. And it will take me 10.000 years to get …(8)…back to the state I am in now.
    But to humans? I’m just water. Just there. Where will humans find me when there are billions more of them around? Where will they find themselves? Will they wage …(9)…wars over me? Like they do over everything else? That’s always an …(10)…option. But it’s not the only …(10)…option.

    Its impossible to run out of water. On earth there will always be the same amount water. If you guys are talking about fresh water, there is solution to get all the fresh water we need. Graphene. Graphene is carbon atoms in sheet form one atom thick, its also the strongest material on earth. But graphene is a great water filter. It allows only h2o molecules to go through. If your curious what is graphene, search it up, it could be the way were we can save nature.

    I love these videos but they are very scientifically inaccurate and don't actually provide any solutions... "We're running out of water" is a very ignorant statement because (as someone has already mentioned) there will always be the same amount of water on the earth. So if we are "running out" of it (which we aren't) what solution are you giving to solve that?

    • @derek3992
      @derek3992 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Im sure they meant FRESH water...

    • @joatmosphere2716

      they meant clean water where fishes can live in

    • @erinsnyder7948
      @erinsnyder7948 9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      +Sancarn I'm pretty sure they're referring to fresh water, that's why they made separate videos for "water" and "the ocean." Also "we're running out of water" is not that ignorant of a statement because we are using water at a rate much faster than natural cycles can replenish the supply. Of the water available on earth, only 3% is fresh water, and only .003% of that is accessible for human consumption; most resides in receding glaciers. Groundwater withdrawal is another example of water shortage. Underground aquifers take years to recharge. Human consumption of water for both domestic and industrial processes has long surpassed natural recharge rates. As the human population continues its exponential growth, demand will eventually exceed supply. Additionally, we are polluting huge amounts of the water we do have left with chemical runoff from agriculture, industries, sewage, etc. I would say "we're running out of water," is a pretty accurate statement.

    • @Sancarn
      @Sancarn 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erin Snyder Thing is it is really really simple to get freshwater.... You just take sea water and boil off the salt...

    • @erinsnyder7948
      @erinsnyder7948 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +Sancarn The process to which you are referring, desalinization, is an extremely capital and energy intensive process. It is not as simple as boiling water. Turning salt water into drinkable, fresh water is a long process with several steps. The salt water needs to be pushed through extremely fine membrane filters in order to fully remove all salinity. The pressure required to push the water through the filters actually comes from huge amounts of water. Thus, desalinization actually consumes more water than is produced in the process. The highly concentrated salts leftover in the process must be disposed of in an environmentally sustainable fashion, which is difficult to do. Also, desalinization is expensive and not an economically viable solution to the global water shortage.

    As the climate heads into greater extremes globally, how can we best deal with future climate crises?
    The short answer is that we cannot deal with them unless we take care of nature's inner balance.
    We live in a tightly-closed and interdependent system in which everything boomerangs back to us. While living in such a system, we need to reconsider what we want and think, and how we treat each other, because our human connections are the primary influence on how nature responds to us.
    It is common to think that climate is dependent on factors outside of us-whether it be balances between heat and cold in the environment, or the effects of various kinds of pollution we emit-because we lack a complete picture of how our attitudes to each other bring about the strongest responses from nature toward us.
    No creature distorts nature the way that we people do. And it is not simply a matter of switching to renewable energy sources, electric cars and the like; it is a matter of how we relate to each other.
    If we truly wish to witness more balance throughout nature and not have to deal with all kinds of cold waves and other natural disasters, then similarly to how we have electricity, water and gas meters in our homes, we should also have meters that count how much evil we emit into the world from our negative attitudes to each other. What I mean is that if we could feel the extent to which we emit negative forces into the world, which negatively ricochet back to us, then we would wish to change this negative driver within us. We would want to switch it to a drive that makes our human connections positive, and which harmonizes us with nature.
    In simple terms, when we get up in the morning, we should first and foremost consider what we need to do in order for all people to have it good. Developing such an attitude is not so simple, yet we will need to seriously work on it as we head into the future. A life of increasing blows from nature or a life of peace and harmony depends on the extent to which we impact a shift in our attitudes to each other-from negative to positive.

    I am water, but you can call me H and two Oh, or for short H2O, I come and I go - I leave my H in plants and trees and give you the Oh that you may breathe. With no Oh, I can be explosive but with it, I can flood you and kill you, but with none you will go thirsty along with all plants - you will go to the ends of the Earth to find me, more precious than Gold, from days of old! I give life and take it away, so be careful with what you say, for you drink me in, breathe me in and clean your body with me. I am in you, about you - always near, but sometimes far, always around you in your stores, in your sky, in your ocean your taps and bottles. You can get too much of me and not enough, but in just the right amount I am perfect for your life. I keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. I am you, at least 90% or more! You cannot live without me, so respect me and treat me well. I am your servant and your master! I am H20, go with the flow!
