    Mr. Redford's voice is so reminiscient of better times. So eloquent and well spoken. I'm very happy that he's still in the movie and acting game, and as an aspiring actor and filmmaker myself, it would be an honor to meet him.

    Given then that I’m currently in California and near the fires. This video is so powerful. We are faltering... these Oceans are not ours, neither are the forests. How we were ever taught that I’ll never know. All I know is that we weren’t prepared for the fires, to burn for 4 days non stop. Mother Nature is going to be fine y’all. We just need to have a better symbiotic relationship with her. Acknowledged climate change would be a great start.

      Dems too Brother. You see? The republickins and democraps are playing a game in which, to the outsider, seems like it's against each other but in reality...they are "playing" us and we pay them all to do it. To add insult to injury...they have created an insider trading loophole for only themselves so they can enrich themselves even further by voting pro war and investing in MIC corporations that make them more money every time a bomb is dropped. THAT'S why, in recent years post 911, we now see so many dems voting to bomb the shit out of which ever enemy is convenient at any given time. They don't need to be sold on war...they get PAID for war and sending OUR sons/dots/husbands/fathers off to foreign lands to die. Most certainly not their own kids. No siree Bob. If we don't take our Republic back from this crimcorfedmednewsgov and right soon...we we be in the midst of WWIII before the fiscal year ends

    • @magiccharlie
      @magiccharlie 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      BillWhittleChannel Why would it matter if he did have wood in his house. We all do. It is not a matter of having wood, but thinking about how much wood we use and how we use it. It does not make him a "douchebag hyprocrite" to preach about conservation - it is conservation and not abstinence. No way is saying we can not use the resources of the planet - watch the videos - they are trying to tell thick headed people like you that you need to think about your consumption and how we treat nature. It really seems that you are the DH here and not Mr. Redford.

  • @tamara3782
    @tamara3782 ปีที่แล้ว

    As the climate heads into greater extremes globally, how can we best deal with future climate crises?
    The short answer is that we cannot deal with them unless we take care of nature's inner balance.
    We live in a tightly-closed and interdependent system in which everything boomerangs back to us. While living in such a system, we need to reconsider what we want and think, and how we treat each other, because our human connections are the primary influence on how nature responds to us.
    It is common to think that climate is dependent on factors outside of us-whether it be balances between heat and cold in the environment, or the effects of various kinds of pollution we emit-because we lack a complete picture of how our attitudes to each other bring about the strongest responses from nature toward us.
    No creature distorts nature the way that we people do. And it is not simply a matter of switching to renewable energy sources, electric cars and the like; it is a matter of how we relate to each other.
    If we truly wish to witness more balance throughout nature and not have to deal with all kinds of cold waves and other natural disasters, then similarly to how we have electricity, water and gas meters in our homes, we should also have meters that count how much evil we emit into the world from our negative attitudes to each other. What I mean is that if we could feel the extent to which we emit negative forces into the world, which negatively ricochet back to us, then we would wish to change this negative driver within us. We would want to switch it to a drive that makes our human connections positive, and which harmonizes us with nature.
    In simple terms, when we get up in the morning, we should first and foremost consider what we need to do in order for all people to have it good. Developing such an attitude is not so simple, yet we will need to seriously work on it as we head into the future. A life of increasing blows from nature or a life of peace and harmony depends on the extent to which we impact a shift in our attitudes to each other-from negative to positive.

    Its true we need to reduce our pollution, but we need to thrive. If you tell the people in the factories to stop working what will happen to them? How will they thrive? Thousands, Millions will go homeless and go on starvation. So we need to keep it balanced. We need to reduce the pollution at the same time we need to think about how will we help those people to find a new job to replace the one that's damaging nature.

    • @VinxTerranova
      @VinxTerranova 10 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      It's the idea that trees are trees. Not wood or lumber. That's to say that you don't call a human "flesh", they are made out of it but humans, are humans. Trees are trees. It's not what makes them that matters. We are all the same.

    • @user-ot5yd4ji4f

    • @VinxTerranova
      @VinxTerranova 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Callsign Vega No. I'm saying the opposite. Trees are not wood. Trees are trees. Trees are living things. Wood is a dead, carved tree. To turn a tree into wood, is to kill it and distort it. Imagine turning a human into flesh. Pieces of flesh, no longer the full living thing. Trees are being torn apart into pieces of wood. We are killing a living being because we are ignorant and don't believe it's living.

    • @jeremyhunter2319
      @jeremyhunter2319 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      VinxTerranova Nope, trees are composed of wood. Wood is wood whether it's alive or dead, which is why we have areas called "woodland", it's still woodland, even if the trees are standing, not cut down and piled up.

    Yeah lets gonna live in caves. Because now, apparently, we cant even use wood to build houses.

    • @magiccharlie
      @magiccharlie 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      No one preaches that you can not use wood. The idea is that we consume too much wood. Many people have to have teak and rare wood for their houses, floors, projects, etc.. We consume more and more wood, reuse less of the wood we have and do not consider how long it takes for a tree to grow before it can be used for lumber. People over consume everything - including wood. Ever see anyone build a fence using discarded lumber! Most likely not, because NEW is better. How often does anyone repair something broken - nope throw it away and buy something NEW. There are just not enough RAW materials on this planet to satisfy those kinds of needs. If you can not see how Western society over consumes and disregards nature in everyday life than you are either blind or unwilling to see it. You do not need to live in a cave, but maybe you should and learn to appreciate the simpler things in life. I fear it is people like LOBEZNO4444 who will never see the real message but just jump in and make stupid comments like " guess we all have to live in caves!" Not much hope for future generations.
