Traded in my Tesla Model 3 for the I-Pace and never looked back. I think it's the best all-round EV on the market today. Luxury, range, performance, tech, price. Cannot recommend it enough.
Great review, I'm loving all of the positive comments about this car! I bought one 2 weeks ago, the UK infrastructure is pretty horrible for EVs but the car is something else, I'm totally in love with it now. It's a poor man's Porsche Taycan but its luxury and blistering performance speaks for itself! Motorway range is relative to how it's driven but 100miles at 80mph will do about 130/140miles, will do a lot better around town as with all EVs. The iPace is a motorway weapon, the instant torque and the smoothness of the ride make it addictive, it also has the most satisfying windscreen wash wipers I have ever experienced. If you test drive it, you will buy it.
Best car I’ve ever driven. I thought the ‘pace’ name was a bit like a Ford Ecosport (neither eco nor sporty), until I put my foot down. Awesome. Wish I could afford one.
I have had my I-pace for over 3 years now and it is the best car I have ever driven. expensive to buy but very cheap to own, charge the car at night on cheap rate and have about 240 miles range the next morning, luxury, performance, style, I have tried others but nothing comes close.
Great review - honest and to the point. But isn't 2.5 - 2.8 miles/kWh actually really poor ? I think the EV6 gets 3.7, most competitors will be between 3.2 and 3.5... it seems Jag should get its battery management software a look over.
So far my EV6 struggles to get 3.1, but OK, AWD, 20 inch wheels, Winter, and I am enjoying the power. I do expect about 3.6 when we warm up, and I stop using sport mode. But yes , you are correct, the Jag is poor on consumption, my Kia agent said they were selling the EV6 to many Ipace owners, OK an anecdote from a Kia dealer, they would say that.
The i-pace is really lagging in range and charging capability and could use a good redo but might still be my favorite for its purported ride, look, and performance. All the other EV's also had their down sides. E-tron boring, Tesla ridiculous computer geek car, Polestar great handling but stiff and cramped cabin, EV6 not great handling and questionable controls but love the paddle shifters. Now to actually find one of these things to test drive. Not an easy thing in the US.
A very fine review of what seems to be a very nice car. Is this the only car with a trim level named after a UK Government department, the HSE, or Health and Safety Executive?? An odd homage, but at least it's a 5* EuroNCAP car, which will delight the actual HSE... Interesting and unique 'test' of a car, is does Mark look 'right' in the iPace? I'd say yes, this car suits Mark, a Jag that can pull off on-trend tats, hair, and specs. 21st century Jag eh?
Love the i-pace - just hope JLR does not pull a BMW and never give a proper battery update. I would not trade for anything else right now... maybe the Audi take on the Taycan
Want no other EV....still. At under a 100k, nothing touches it. Maybe if I had stupid money, a new Sport Tourismo Taycan, but I don't think I am just not a Porsche kinda guy...and I wouldn't get more range either.
Given many of these cars have been returned by their owners to Jaguar because they breakdown and spend months in the workshop waiting repairs I wouldn't touch these with a barge pole. Yes some owners have no problems but the horrendous stories others tell would make you run a mile from an i-Pace.
Please Everyone, Just by a Tesla. Let me and the few others here Enjoy our underwhelming Ipaces...My HSE does nothing well, it only matches my 911 in acceleration, matches my QX80 in Comfort, matches my M3 in Handling and looks just as ugly as my Datsun 280Z 2+2...So Everyone Stay away from the Ipace. Thank You.
I am sorry, but after owning Skoda Enyaq for six months I will not buy a can without matrix leds... which is what??? HSE spec? and adaptive cruise control too? Oh come on... another Kia trick
@@charlesstewardson8546 You're right. Not sure why my brain did such a poor job of accent identification on this vid. There is a certain similarity in the sing-song delivery (at least to me) but I really ought to be able to tell Geordies from Irishmen! Oh well, my public ineptitude is now here for all to see for as long as TH-cam continues to exist.
A death trap. Do not fall into trap by just looking at it. It has been six months I bought 8-10 weeks it has been in the dealership. 3 times nearly escaped death (stops in the middle of the no where). Won't move in car wash. Problems you name it this car has it.
I just love my I-pace, it puts a smile on my face every time I look at it and drive it. It's motoring perfection.

Another entertaining & factual review Mark, you're wasted on TH-cam.
Thanks for saying so 🤘🏻😁 Mark.

Another fine review as always to the point with a twist.

2.5-3 is actual, where the others are WLTP official figures you will never get.
Top review. Thanks for reminding me it exists. Good looking, fast, works well in UK. Honestly, why do I see so few of these around?
Because many spend their days ain the dealers workshop broken down. A wait of months for them to be repaired isn't unusual
@@HarvestMoonRadio is it predominantly motor and battery issues, electrical, something else, all of the above?
@@HarvestMoonRadio strange that after 18 months of having one, time spent in the dealership being repaired zero !!
@@pigeonpoo1823 probably hasn’t got a clue and has got mixed up with range rovers

Great test

That’s all well and good, but why are sales so bad?
Shortage of chips which is a world problem

Quite difficult to reverse park?? It’s got a reverse camera fitted 🤦♂️
Yeah but you should have seen the J-Turn parallel park I did in it. The camera battery ran out just before it happened though. Sad times. 💪😁 Mark.
Easy to manoeuvre. Better visibility than a Ford Mustang!

You seem to be repeating yourself in the comments section.
That was because the mechanics were new to the problems. Now resolved and MY21 onwards they have designed out the problems. Wonderful car.

Due to chip shortages the HSE spec has had a few items removed from the spec but still the same price
'jag-u-iyre' is unusual. Is that just this fellow, or the Irish in general?
This fella did it once or twice as a little joke. You'll have to ask someone Irish about the next bit. :-D Mark.
He’s a Geordie!
Irish???🙃😜🤣
