Now their is talk of blockades, will not happen, I want to deliver the freight on my truck as it might be something for a small business to help them survive, I'm thinking of others not just myself. There are a lot of sooky truck driver now.

I see getting my HR licence as the next step into a career I love, driving. The plan is to hold HR for a year then sit for HC. All very true about being cogs in the system, but do any of those other workers give up their entire week and some to their job... none of them get fined for working overtime. The changing of the permits every 5 minutes is a pain in the ass but only take 10-15mins longer, now want us to get tested every 7 days, I get 1 day off a week (if that) I'm not spending it sitting in a doctors office with actual sick people ultimately increasing my chances of catching something... if Victoria is the problem, test Victorian drivers. The job can be done without close human interactions, id rather wear gloves and a mask than have something other than my finger shoved up my nose every week for god knows how long.... ive heard 6months ive heard 2 yrs (104 times) and also since the people still working are out there "risking our lives" shouldn't we be getting hazard pay... they gave the people already on the doll a pay rise for doing nothing yet everybody still working and keeping the country fed and happy should just be grateful...

    Hi Rod, you stay safe, I think the state premier's need too talk to each other's before changing the rules, and give the drivers more lead time, maybe through the operation management so you can prepare your self for it, The premier's need to talk with each other, you got NSW making one rule, VIC another, QLD another, to me it should be the Prime minister to come out with the announcement, that's my view, and I could be wrong, Rod stay safe cheers

    Have you ever tried the Volvo’s like the FH16 or FH? Because I’m looking into the trucking industry and I love both the Volvo’s and the Kenworth’s, what do you think is better?

    • @australiantruckerrod1070
      @australiantruckerrod1070  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Josh. Only my opinion, if you want comfort any of the European trucks are great. Have driven the FH16, Scania and older Benz. Would drive one tomorrow, they are good if it is one driver as I, ( just my opinion) don't think the quality is as good as say Kenworth. Having one driver they would look after it better. European trucks have smaller bunks I think.
      The K200 has come a long way from the early cabovers, have a mate driving the T610, he said I would love the 610, have not had the opportunity to drive one.
      It would depend on where you drive too, and how long you will be in the truck, and where you deliver/pick up from. Customer or depot/ depot.
      Will have to do a video on this. Thank you Josh.

    Hey Rod, great to see you uploading another video- please keep up the good work. Your channel is a gold mine of information for budding drivers such as myself.
    A quick question for you, or any qualified viewers of your channel; I live in southern Sydney & currently have my HR. In November I can upgrade, and my goal is to become an interstate driver with one of the big haulage companies out west or down the coast.
    My question is- I know you can take your MC test straight from HR. Would you say that this is a good idea or would you advise newer drivers to spend time on an HC first?
    Could an (experienced) rigid driver do the MC test having never driven an articulated truck or would I be biting off more than I could chew, with such a long rig & two points of articulation?
    I only ask as I think I'll do my HC first & drive for another year before upgrading to MC, but at the same time, it is tempting to get all the tests done in one...
    Thanks!

    • @shane1899
      @shane1899 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go straight to mc nothing more than a waste of time and money going hc then mc... explain to your potential employer you're just starting out and if they're a half decent outfit they'll start you smaller and move up thru the ranks, you'll learn more on the job than a day course
