I got this exact same unit in 2007. Now in 2023 the red battery light is blinking nonstop, so obviously the battery is dead. Not bad for 16 years of service though. I just ordered a replacement battery from Home Depot for $22. Still cheaper than a new UPS.
3/2019 - owned/used the ES 750 since purchase - more than 4 years ago - works great, especially loved that I had time to turn off my PC and finish up the phone conversation during a Storm/Power outage - I just installed my first battery replacement (everything plugged in) works great. I downloaded the manual and saw your u-tube video - yours came with a CD (I can't find mine, not sure if I got one) so I found the software download on the APC site. Problem during install/ error says "unable to locate battery back up connected to your computer. In order to disable the native power management, and APC battery backup needs to be attached. If native power management is not disabled you may receive messages from Windows relating to a 'battery'." (everything is plugged into the device) and everything is working (PC, lights, phone etc.) the manual said it needs 16 hours to fully charge the unit - perhaps that's the issue. I'll try it again tomorrow...and update. I just thought you might read this and have a helpful comment. Your post was 2010 (9 years ago) so I'm not holding my breath.
I wouldn't bother spending the money. I had an es-750 for 6 years, battery light flashed one day so I bought a new $45 battery. Battery light still flashed, so I called APC. They said sorry, it's not the battery it's the unit and it's out of warranty. For something that sits there and only has to work maybe 2x in 4 yrs, that's pretty lame. So why spend twice the money on something disposable. Btw, I asked if they would sell me a unit at cost considering my frustrations, and they offered a 10% discount on an inflated price plus tax but only if I sent them my old unit. I found the same unit for sale on Amazon for $30 less than their generous offer. Thank you APC we're done here.
my neighbor gave me this apc 750 for free when he was cleaning out his garage. i use it to power my little guitar amp lol. i disconnected the annoying beeping buzzer. 5 minute job with soldering iron and a screwdriver.
Well, a tiny mistake here. I've got a 650W power suply running in my computer, but the computer doesn't always draw that much power. Only when it's needed, so if the power goes out, just make sure to shut down tough softwares asap, and you're good :)
Most likely your battery needs to be replaced. After a few good power outages when the battery is completely drained, the battery gets worn out. You can replace it cheaply with a battery from amazon or ebay. you need a tall and slim 12 volt sla, 7-8 amp hour battery with f2 terminals. It shouldn't run you more than $20-$30 shipped. My ups still shows a fully healthy battery, but next year I will replace the batt and use the old one with a solar setup.
The transformers for routers and 12 volt devices are space hogs. I have seen some short adapters made to correct the issue but agree they should have at least an inch or two of extra space between the plugs.
@sirmasterpimp but some say's that you need to add capacitor and diode inside circuit of the UPS to make the car battery hold a higher voltage and will run up to 4-5hrs, And i don't know if that's work.
I wish you would have gone slower on all the things that came with the battery backup. I misplaced the cable to connect the battery backup to the computer, and I want to know what kind of cable I'm looking for to plug in.
Question I have a 575 not sure what to do as long I am using it the longer can have battery time when the power go out.it have went out the tv and other thing I had plug in stand on for about 10min more power that goes in it the longer it stays on right? not sure please reach out to me so I can get a better understanding about my 575 APC 🙏
That will only work with the more expensive pure sine ups systems.....This system as well as all similar priced ones deliver a square wave, which the ups will reject as an input source.
Does it come with a usb chord to attach to computer? I'd like to see that performance screen on my computer, but don' t know how to do it? Did it come with a usb cable?
No normal consumer ups is......some allow for higher wattage, but non of them are designed to keep you working more than 10 min or so after the power goes out.
please tell me that you are not using that for a pc :( that model produces square waves instead of sine waves, and square waves will kill your power supply very quickly, you can pick up a decent sine wave ups on ebay, but make sure it has new batteries, if not you run the chance on getting a steal for a seemingly perfect ups, yet its batteries are useless
My unit did not come with a cd/dvd. I had to download the software from their website. Then the software would not open once installed? It was Sunday so I could not call tech support. I went and did some research on their forum. Turns out I had to install a Microsoft font (I used HP's online tech support to get it for me--the font was Arial.tff) and now the software and unit work fine!
I bought a different model from APC from the internet and it had a tag on it telling the battery history. It's from a year ago. Should I worry? The terminal wasn't connected, so is it still new?
When i test mine to see if the back up battery works, i unplug it and everything shuts off.. The plugs are in the battery back up plug ins.. any ideas? also when i try to install PowerChute it says it cannot detect any battery back up..
+Tito Lopez The outlets that provide Uninterruptible Power are the top ones labeled "Battery Backup" so you want to plug in your computer, monitor, modem/router and whatever else you want to have power in an outage (such as an external hard drive) to those outlets. The "Surge Protection" bottom outlets will not be powered in an outage but will be protected from power spikes that could damage electronics so plug in things like printers, speakers or chargers that are not as important to have in a power outage. Basically the unit just enables you time to wrap up what you are doing on your computer and shut things off so don't plan on being able to work on your computer for long before the power is exhausted. The main reason I got mine was those annoying power outages that just last a few seconds but would shut my computer down.
maqhour1 I ran a 22 " LCD TV with a cable box for about 2 hours. That was with the 5 year old original battery. My guess is that it will last a little longer when new.
@@Dachamp2001 your other choice would be to buy a $20 power analyser (kill o watt meter) and figure out your real running wattage. That way you can see if a smaller unit will suffice.
buenos dias, una pregunta. yo tengo unos de esos UPS pero esta mañana presento una falla "no encendía" y al intentarlo encender marcaba en luz roja una batería con una "x", ¿algunos de ustedes sabe que significa?.
they good nice video but I would said get your self 2000 watts inverter 12 volt deep cycle battery with 75 amp 900 watts or 12 volt deep cycle battery 100 amp 1200 watts ok you get more longer battery life
very nice video love them ok i have back-ups cs 350 battery life stucks so i when out get me 1100 watts inverter i have fused block 12 way and 12 volt battery 285 cranking amp i have two 12 volt not best battery i used ok positive from one battery to positive to other battery from positive i have switch between positive to my positive to my 1100 watts inverter and negative to negative to nagetive to my nagetive of my inverter do much better run time i dose rum all 200 watts do much longer hour ok i going get 12 volt deep cycle batter 100 amp about 3 batter and run very long hours you something that can run your fridge or stove or heater in home if there is power block out for like said a day or so ok those thing will not cut it

Hi: I am in the same situation as you. Which model did you buy from Home Depot?

Steve Stell how?
Dude you could've just disabled the buzzer alarm sound from software options. lmao
Thanks so much for this video. Very informative.
my 750 won't stop beeping with the red X. even after I change the battery. what could be the problem?
Wayne Watson were you able to solve it?

You would need a 1000 VA (600 watt) unit for your application. It would run your system for about 10 min.
very good cover of all stuff on this product. good job bro

You can probably take it apart and snip the wires going to the little buzzer....I just leave mine on to be able to find all 5 of them.

@1968toddcarter No, you would need a much larger ups. One of their pro sine units sounds about right for you.
Do you know where I can obtain a copy of the software for the ES 750? Thanks.
How do you turn off the beeping when the power goes out?
mamasch Via the software that he just mentioned in the video.
That will only work with the more expensive pure sine ups systems.....This system as well as all similar priced ones deliver a square wave, which the ups will reject as an input source.
70 watts would probably run for a good hour and a half to two hours. For longer time, I would suggest running only 1-2 of those lights.
Today the APC is beeping. We did not have a power outage. The building wiring fault light is on. What does that mean
Does it come with a usb chord to attach to computer? I'd like to see that performance screen on my computer, but don' t know how to do it? Did it come with a usb cable?
Great review!

I found this in a storage locker I got for free and have no idea what it is or what it’s worth.
I have 2pcs battery car which is 12v each, then is this possible that i can replace my ups battery into car battery? thanks

I got this thing and about a year later this thing wouldn't not stop beeping...I had to just go back to a regular surge protector..
Marco Sartori NO I should! thanks I will check it out;
Christopher Lopez open the back panel and connect the battery properly.
can i use this on a pc with a 1200 watt power source?
i want to use the 5 outlet with battery back up to light up 14watt LED bulb each. how long do you think it will light it up for? aloha, joe
Hi Can you please help me how actívate the Uninterruptible Power Supply mode I just adquired one of this model but I don´t know how to use it!!!!

They need to space those outlets out more. Some of my devices has a big fat square plug, using up 2 spaces.
I agree with you, the plug orientation on some of the devices is lousy and takes up two spaces
Love the company hate the fucking annoying beeping sound I wish they had a on off switch for .
Good vid!
Can I plug in any Christmas lights on apc surge protector?
Sure can. Hope you had a nice Christmas!
Guys.. i have a question ... how long does this last in case of plugging in a TV ?
maqhour1 I ran a 22 " LCD TV with a cable box for about 2 hours. That was with the 5 year old original battery. My guess is that it will last a little longer when new.
i have a corsair 550W power supply in my system so is 750W ups is capable of powering my system up to 10-15 mins.
how do you charge this?
My PC has a 850watt psu how big of a batt back up do I need. But pretty sure it don't use anything close to max
You would need a 1500va unit that provides a pure sine wave output.
@@BatteryGeekReviews damn that's a lot
