    At various points there's some LED banding, some mic interference, some underexposure, some color shift, etc. I'm well aware of it all! Compromises accepted to make videos very significantly easier & more comfortable & stress-free to make in the city than literally ever. The city & sharing it is going to be my focus here -- technicalities will happily lag behind!

      Jang it’s ok the ‘mess’ is normal and I wish people wouldn’t make a big deal out of nothing and make you feel like you have to constantly justify yourself all the time. I understand people will be people but just brush over it it’s ok my Lego room is always a mess as well hahah

      Always appreciate your professionalism. I'm also happy to see a relaxed style video. Even more excited to see news from the city above and below. I'll be waiting for updates on the post apocalyptic and cyberpunk settings! Whoo!

      At the end of the day, you're just doing your hobby, just on a larger scale than most other people. If people don't like the 'messiness' of what is supposed to be a behind-the-scenes video, that's their problem 👍

    • @csahynes
      @csahynes 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate some of the "messiness". The creative process takes many twists and turns, time, life and other priorities sometimes get in the way. Seeing your city like this provides hope for many who look at theirs in similar states and realize that things aren't always perfect and eventually dreams/plans will come together.

      Gotta say, I like this impromptu style of sharing your thoughts and progress on the city. It feels very natural and real!

    It geniunely amazes me how Jang has spent so many years on this one city, constantly tweaking and moving and adjusting it. I'm envious of that kind of commitment. I'm plagued with hyper-fixation on a hobby for a short amount of time before my brain burns out and I have focus on something else instead. I hope I can find this zen one day lol. Since I live in a small apartment with no hope of making a "real" lego city, I'm glad Jang documents his so much that I can live vicariously through it!

    My favorite part under the tables is the underwater scenes, all the hard work you've put into these is quite enormous, especially the Minecraft part, lots of bricks in these ones, wow! Keep up the good work, my friend! Long live Jang and New Jang City!

    I LOVE the underwater area. Such a cool usage of those raised baseplates, and so much details.

    Seeing the raw display, messy as it is, does make me feel less bad about the mess that is my LEGO setup as well! It's great to just be OK with the fact that it's still a mess and not the way we want it just yet, the fact that it's still very much a WIP, while also serving as motivation for us to set aside time and energy to flesh it out. I do think I needed that. So thank you for putting these walkthrough videos out here! I also appreciate that you stick to your guns and do everything your way, which is how I intend to approach my LEGO stuff as well. Even the Mellemby district being entirely viewer-driven was a decision you made, and being able to exercise such creative control is very empowering and absolutely worth celebrating. Looking forward to seeing more updates, in your own time!

    Been watching for many years now, almost since the beginning. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again YOU’RE THE BEST JANG! Thanks for showing us your hobby and for helping others fall in love with Lego all over again. You’ve given me plenty of ideas and I look forward to exploring those ideas and seeing your future updates! Keep it up, and all the best!

    Jang, the ways this has sci-fi elements is such an inspiration. It’s amazing how in hindsight when I was younger I decided to hero factory moc by seeing your stuff, and in a roundabout way the same thing is happening now with my dreams of making my own sci-fi city.
    Also, I appreciate that you explain the work in progress and “messy” seeming parts. It’s real life, and it helps give me a good example for realistic expectations

    I think a series by you that involves tutorials, tips and tricks, and guides would be amazing! I think a lot of people starting out in creating their own MOCS, custom designs, etc would appreciate it. For example, making different types of trees, terrain, bridges, etc..

    I've followed your city for so long. I think that was the best update you've done (both parts). I feel like I know your city - as if I've been there.

    As interesting as the city above is, all my favorite scenes are down here. Never realized how extensive your minecraft layout is or how well that translates into Lego. Hidden dinosaur world FTW, though!!

    Thanks for sharing JANG. I find your work very inspiring. One day I’ll have a home big enough to do this myself. My favorite thing is your honesty about “the mess” because when I build Lego this is the truth. In a world where people try to show only perfection this is refreshing.

    When Jang said the miners were going to cut through into some other scene my mind immediately went to the Mines of Moria and the Balrog. But Lost World of Dinosaurs is cool too - I picture loads of foliage and underground waterfalls.

    Suggestion for Mellamby custom plan:
    'character creator livestream'
    livestream chat picks/designs a minifig, then all vote for what kind of story/background/job they have, and vote on various aspects of their life like if they are in a vehicle or run a shop etc etc

    I really liked this and your Pt.1 .
    If I have any requests it would be when you do big expansive tours like this in the future, when you call out specific builds - the modern apartment for example, it would be helpful if you put a link to the original video you had of it when you released it, or a video that highlights it. You've got a lot of content (which is a good thing) and it can be difficult going through years worth of content looking for more details on a specific build.

    Of everything below the table I’m most interested in mellamby and the minecraft diorama. You should do some viewer Q&A livestreams in mellamby asking what fans want to see in the cyberpunk set up. There’s been so many updates to minecraft with so many new LEGO pieces and colours I’m sure you can make your minecraft builds look a lot more modern. I always look forward to the review off seasons because I really like the custom MOCs you build

    11:33 I had a similar idea to have an underground Dino valley, inspired by the Lost Valley level in Tomb Raider. I have noticed it hasn't changed much since you showed it in a video last time so I have to wonder why the newer dinos aren't there (I love the Ankylosaurus model), so it's nice to hear it's being considered with some additional lore.

    I still *really* love your two under water scenes and look forward to seeing you make them to be what you currently want. Will you allow yourself to keep official under water sets displayed or is the long term goal to have those areas full of MOCs?

      Thanks. For now I'm gonna let the official ones stay, but eventually I'd like to replace them with my own designs, inspired by the same material though and not straying too far from LEGO's style.

    Do black lights effect the natural color of the lego pieces like U.V. light and sun damaged pieces?

    • @andrewtaylor940
      @andrewtaylor940 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They shouldn’t effect Lego much. Black Lights are mostly UV B, It’s UV C that accelerates the yellowing mainly. You only get that in Quality (ie Real, not scam tier Chinese Junk) UV sterilizer’s.
