- Pendolo is a home-made shuttle coaster in the grounds of Ai Pioppi, a family-owned restaurant in Treviso, Italy. The owner started building rides for his customers to enjoy over 40 years ago, and now he makes roller coasters too! Check it out!

That goes pretty fast!
+UltraRobbie The sign on the ride says maximum speed 100kph!
***** Wow! I can imagine the G-Force now!
+davidjellis 100kph WHAT THE HECK! AWESOME! IT MUST BE PRETTY HIGH THEN...?
UltraRobbie that's why I would love it
That's 62.1371 mph!
Love the way grass and plants are growing in the track lol
Yes...it adds an extra perceived danger to it all :-)
I wish I had the time, patience, and skill to build my own roller coasters. That ride looks awesome. If you really think about it, the Vekoma Big Air coaster is just a bigger and more advanced version of this ride.
yeah they are very similar
I tried to make a roller coaster like this and it turned out good exept wasnt that big or fast
Did someone say my name?
Whoa! It's a garden-coaster!
+Sean Flaharty and a pretty intense one at that - over 60 mph !!
Holy crap! I want one!
Literally a new meaning to the word trim brakes
That's cool that he designed it himself, but my only concern is that there are plants just casually growing on to the tracks...
+Hypernukeleosis Kirby In the plants versus coaster wars the coaster always seems to win :-)
The plants are actually the rides brakes XD
OOOOOOO! THAT LOOKS WICKED COOL! Awesome!!!!
Hands down, coolest dad & family EVER!! 🌞
I love the authentic home built effect with all the trees coming through the track too.....lol
That vertical spike tho! That restaurant owner knows what's good :D
This is the Most insane roller coaster ever
I was told this park was electricity free but it seems to have a motor.
I guess the owner is expanding on his horizons. It is a very impressive build.
Many of the rides are self-powered, but they do have power for some rides
The Game Ripper right
The Game Ripper it is powered by humans, just put some work into it and enjoy
The Game Ripper gas is a thing...
Home-made backyard carnival rides. What could possibly go wrong?
BackSeatJunkie right scary
That looks really fun
It was pretty intense for a home-made coaster!
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you very much!
This is too cool. Love it.
It's a credit.
+Docktor Jim It pulled some serious G forces as it bottomed out of that drop!
***** Looks like it would.
That looks like so much fun!
Very cool video. Thanks for posting and have a nice day too.
This should be about as famous as the blue flash...
Agreed 🙂
Apparently this ride closed with the restaurant/park due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but when the restaurant/park reopened, Pendolo didn't. And it's SBNO ever since, along with the park's other roller coaster: Catapulta (a homemade shuttle launch coaster which never opened to the public).
That's a shame if true - was such an amazing and unique thing to experience
RCDB confirms this - but still lists three operating coasters 🙂
THIS IS HOMEMADE!? WHHHHAAAAAT
Everything at that park is home-made...check out my other videos of Ai Pioppi - what a unique place
Ikr
Looks fun!
Looks fun but them plants growing through the tracks need to be cut. Lol
The coaster cuts them :-)
This is so freaking cool
.It's like a crazy Butterfly coaster, I see Susan was having none of it ! ;-)
+psyclonesteve It is indeed like a massive Butterfly coaster...Susan decided to pass!
Amazing! I have to give the guy kudos for his ingenuity, but this entire place wouldn't be open for a second here in the U.S.
Agreed!
that's amazing but i'm assuming the owner had to have that thing inspected before he could let people ride it.
A looper would be awesome
Agreed!
this is my second favourite kind of pov
and what's your favourite type?
C'mon guy, you must know what I was talking about.
Oh- Oh my god.
That looks so fun
I really want some big amusement park TH-camr like coaster Studios to eventually go there one day and do a vlog because this park is insane
I wish more of the attractions had been operating on the day of our visit...I agree it's a crazy place. I think Coaster Studios only has 58k more subscribers than me, but won't feel offended if you didn't think was big enough to do the park justice LOL :-)
Good vid😄
Brilliant
Thanks :-)
Actually crazy
It's a crazy place - but so much fun!
This looks fun...
looks fun
Boy who on earth designed those restraints. Absolutely amazing regardless, though.
It was all built in-house
This ride has better safety harnesses than commercial rides lol.
Granny is a dare devil I don't know if I would go
Of course I will
Makes me think of Gold Reef City's Tower of Terror because of g-forces the riders will feel at the bottom! Maybe this can be a 7g shuttle coaster lol! xD
Is this really homemade? Cuz it looks insane!
Yes - the whole park is basically entertainment for those who dine at the restaurant and all built by the restaurant owner!
A capacity nightmare but so much fun!
It's only for the customers of his restaurant, so it rarely gets busy
That's a big homemade coaster
It is really sizeable for a home made ride - and pretty fast too!
and it still looks smoother than a SLC or boomerang
Indeed it is :-)
davidjellis i actually refuse to ride the only two “good” coasters in my home park, elitch gardens. i dislike vekoma alot
Having been to the Vekoma factory earlier this year I suggest that you keep an open mind...some of their new designs look actually very good!
hmm! i'm just disappointed because i know elitches isnt getting any new good coasters :( But im looking forward to the new vekoma!
Wow, that looks really neat for a home-made coaster. I can't believe I haven't been to the place yet, considering that it is closer to home than any of the bigger parks are. How does the park work? You dine at the restaurant and then you get entry to the playground or do you have to pay extra to enter/pay per ride once there?
+tily1212 We visited as a group so I didn't pay personally but my understanding is that you pay to eat and the rides are free but you must eat there to ride - you cannot pay just to ride.
All the park and The rides are totaly free.
Just u can t have Pic Nic with your food in the park , if u whant eat u need use the ristorant in the park , prices are Very Easy
cool
Love it, doubt it would be legal in America
I think you are right :-)
It probably would but it would have to stay private, or the owner would have to meet with some lawyers and get a waiver for people to sign.
I can imagine that it would be legal to make for the other countries who request this homemade Hammerhead Stall Coaster, as long as Bruno the manufacturer of this can meet certain requirements should any maintenance and inspections be needed, and it would be his responsibility to set the health and safety requirements for riders to ride it in terms of the minimum height, etc.
Dang whats the top speed??
I believe it's around 60mph
@@davidjellis wow! Crazy fun!
@@dreamincolor14 It was!
Buh I swear these comments like who cares it's just to have fun.And I've.always wanted to go there
Looks Fun. I recently saw a documentary about schwur des kärnan, which also included some parts about Ai pioppi. Very interesting. I recognize the man in the blue overall at 3:35 (left) as the founder of Ai pioppi and builder of this coaster.
Anyway, great video! :D
He is also at the start of the video too :-)Thanks - glad you enjoyed the video!
I missed that. I was more focussed on the turning wheels. Thanks :)
Whoa
How fast does this coaster go, I wonder.
The sign said 100kph (so just over 60mph)
@@davidjellis holy fuck, that's fast for a backyard coaster!
Holy crap! You had better hope the weight is distributed correctly or WHOOSH right off the end!
Weight won’t matter because the spike is significantly taller than it needs to be. The car was at full capacity and it didn’t fly off. Also there are physical blockers on the end of the track.
How tall is that thing? It looks like it’s legit over 100 feet.
wow nıce vıdeo
This looks like orphan rocker but accept it's still operating
I could have sworn every ride at the park was powered by the rider
Clearly not this one :-)
No thanks I would love to live longer it looks like it would fall off the tracks going down and top it looks like fly off
I am sure it is safe :-)
Yea it’s safe it loses speed due to friction as it goes down the first drop so then it can’t fall off the spike. The train is still quite a few feet from falling off the first spike. As for the second spike it has lost so much energy by that point it gets only about 3/4 up on the second pass. No one is falling off and there are no negative G forces to throw them out of the ride. Overall looks fun and safe.
this is the only ride in the park that uses electricity!
technically, it uses kinetic energy created by the motor not electricity
ZeGamingCuber facepalm
How tall do you have to be to ride it?
I am not sure to be honest...cannot remember if there was a stated minimum height.
can you film the other rides too?
+Matthew Robertson I have film of the smaller single seat coaster and some general footage around the park...the double-tracked shuttle coaster was closed and the launched coaster is still being tested so not open. The two other videos will be uploaded soon.
*****
thanks!
Cool but it doesn't look like a real coaster...What was Italy thinking?
+BryceFourn 2001 It's like a giant Butterfly coaster...not sure you have seen one of those. The Intamin Halfpipe coasters have a similar track layout if you think about it, just U-shaped at both ends instead of just at one end like this one.
***** I have seen those before.
It s a made in home coaster like all the ride in the park aremade in home and free from Electric Line, it s a Strange Place ...Nice to try !
BryceFourn 2001
Come on there's enough in the current world to scrutinize & dump on. See it for what it is!! Crestive, shows huge motivation & fun!! Mind you, I didn't say completely safe but then again I'm not planning to go Italy any time soon either!! 🌞Gotta believe if he's confident enough to let the people he loves ride it then I would have hoped it is as safe as his ability would allow. Again, no guarantee but have you seen some of the serious accidents at amusement parks/fairs that are regulated? If its meant to happen its going to regardless of who worries about it & how much. Sorry for the rant there's just so little nowadays to be happy about. Why can't we just enjoy it temporarily, as they are so few & far between.. if the even happen at all!!🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
This looks like a homemade version of a Hammerhead Stall coaster, minus the rotating car to get a different perspective....
Na maam
Where is this
Rumor is the ride is still coming to a stop today.
The World's first valleying coaster
It's like a larger version of a Butterfly coaster...there are dozens of them so it won't be the first valleying coaster, but I think that describes it well :-)
How fast / tall is it
100kph (60+mph) - not sure of the height as there are no published statistics, but it's quite a size for a home-built ride
Pioppi is a great little city - Pioppi è una bella città - th-cam.com/video/H8qwTcxuSVU/w-d-xo.html
What's the name of the resturant
Ai Pioppi
The restraints are so extra
Well it's all home made, but they seem to do the job!
do you have to speak italian to go there?
No...anyone can go there providing they eat there...although knowing a little of the language will help.
That looks unsafe
That looks painful as F****K
It wasn't painful at all...pretty intense but not painful - a totally unique ride :-)
This is genius.
To think that this homemade ride is less painful than SLCs... (the older ones at least)
Um no
It's safe, you just have to have the ability to do lots and lots of science and math
Gårdhus one is not a Real one of the concept, the idea is that its completly human powered.....
I won't to get on
scary
I came here from TheRichest's video on 10 Amusement Park Rides To dangerous for the U.S
Curious - had they included a link or did it just come up as a featured video?
Don't look that safe tho
www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Osteria+Ai+Pioppi/@45.8431784,12.1782615,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x47793da259fc8ab5:0x1ecea621b5735036!8m2!3d45.8431784!4d12.1804502
There is no way that’s a home made roller coaster design cool ride boring
Wer ist wegen Fynn Kliemann hier?😂🥰
I think that I'd feel safer riding a Chinese knock-off than anything in this park as they all look incredibly dodgy, you know that when a Chinese knock-off looks less dodgy that your ride, you know that something is wrong. I think that this is Europe's Action Park (dodgy rides), and I mean old deathtrap Action Park, and much like old Action Park, this place probably needs to be shut down, are we sure that the park's owner isn't a psychopath with how dodgy the rides are?
+AceAviations2 I disagree - places like this are so rare it would be such a shame to lose them. The founder of the restaurant is no spring chicken and at some stage I guess may hand the park over to family or be forced to sell, but he is a passionate believer in doing something unique, and it was a privilege to experience the joys of Ai Pioppi on our tour. Life's too short to not take a risk from time to time!
There have been very few deaths at his park :^]
pretty boring.
why do you think it's boring...the fact it is home-built and very tall certainly added an element of risk to my ride experience...far from boring really, despite its simple design
