Great vid as always Matt and Wenning Strength team. Merry Christmas and happy holidays :)

Lifting on and off for 30 years. It’s amazing how much I’ve learned from you in just a few months of discovering you. Squat totally revamped. I can already feel the results. Thanks Matt!

  • @aa7x3

I have been training a friend that is 6'8" and has femurs the length of my torso. He couldn't squat to depth and had bad knee pain, I had him start at a high box for squats and then start doing kettlebell swings for time (aiming for 50lbs for 5 min like in your tactical manual) and inverse curls. In about 3 months his knees feel great even when running and he can squat all the way down without a box, he's now ready to pass the PT test to join the state police. I can't fit him in a hamstring curl machine but I will have him try those band exercises.

That last exercise reminds me of a good morning or an RDL. Would those exercises be useful or is the risk/reward ratio not worth it? Also, you mentioned how on a leg curl machine how the weight isn’t really as important as we probably think it is. Should we be worried about muscle imbalance at all in as much as we are squatting 225 and only leg curling like 50? Thanks for the band exercise ideas, I will try them.

My hamstrings tend to get way too sore more often than any other muscle group. I had a leg workout this monday and did the leg curls and my hamstrings are still very sore. Could that be because I don't work them as much? Or is there another reason?

There wouldn't be a muscle imbalance unless you're doing quad isolation work, right? If you're just squatting, the necessary muscles will grow regardless since there no focus on extraneous parts from what I understand.
