Great video. One of these days I'll have to visit Disneyland. I live in Orlando and I've visited WDW many times but I'd like to see the first of Walt Disney's parks.
Though I haven't beed to Disneyland yet, I can say that the Astro Orbiter at WDW in Orlando, FL (where I live) looks to be better simply on the basis that it's mounted 30 ft in the air on top of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority ride (the old WED Way People Mover). The planets on that one don't move either.
They can't place it up there because it's too heavy compared to the old Rocket Jets. Currently, the old Rocket Jets is the non-rideable spinning attraction that's on top of the peoplemover now, called the Observatron.
i remember this when the middle section used to work. But im 13 now. It stopped working when I was about 4-5 years old. Why does it not work anymore and if they rebuild the old rocketjets platform, why don't they justmake they planets on a separate ring like it is in Disneyworld. Please Reply.
In my opinion Disneyworld's Astro Orbiter is a way better experience than DIsneyland's. By they way, the planet's on DIsneyland's don't even work like they did on this video anymore.
Wanna know what Dumbo would look like if he was a rocket? Now's your chance. The Astro Orbitor kind of ruins the feel of Town Square a lot. If Walt was still alive Tomorrowland would be better.
thanks for posting this. I've been looking for a video like this for a while.

Wow, fantastic video of such a mundane ride. Great camera work man!
I like how WDW has the rockets above Tommorrowland. Never been up there, but the view must be fantastic!

I rode on this ride two weeks ago, it was much faster than Dumbo.

Theme from The Rocketeer.
I miss the old one the one were you took the elevator to get to the ride. Why did they move it to the ground and take out the people movers

The ride still works, but the orbs on top don't orbit anymore sad. :(
The original.
Please, was that from the original Disneyland or in Paris?

too bad the planets are back to not spinning again. :(
I didn't know Astro Orbitor was so troublesome. One of a few failures by Disney imagineers, I believe.
