Buffalo is by far the most active and underrated family in America right now. One can only assume their proximity to the Canadian border, and their deep ties to Ndrangheta and the wars that have been ongoing up north- that Buffalo is probably the only family in the last 10 years or so that’s been involved in at least one murder but presumably multiple murders.

An LA show would be great especially since you, Scott, are confident in confirming a structure, I’ve heard nothing but negative speculation in terms of there being anything (besides T.Gambino and a few old members and associates) since I’ve gotten in the subject less than a decade ago. You don't have to be fully Italian to be in the mafia so stop the propaganda.

The truth is it depends on each family and each individual specific scenario. Sometimes a guy that's half will be Made if his father is fully Italian. This is rare but sometimes does happen. Much more plausible is someone that's 75% Italian and his father is 100% Italian. A guy like this will basically be considered 100% Italian.

Philadelphia is the most overrated family in the country. Merlino is such a polarizing character that ppl assume they’re making guys left and right and wield all this power. On the contrary- he has so much spotlight on him that he has to be the most careful. One wrong move and he’s done. They’ve been on him for years and would like nothing more than to pin one of a handful of unsolved murders to his name.
He wouldn’t be stepping out into podcasting if the family was printing money. He’s a practical guy and can see the writing on the wall. Let me parlay this underworld fame into something legitimate before it’s too late. His closest guys are locked up, retired or under heavy LE scrutiny and have been for years.
If the family was such a powerhouse, the last thing he’d do is force it under an even greater microscope. Is he still the boss? Probably. It would serve no purpose for him to step down. There’s no statue of limitations on murder so whether he’s “retired” or not holds no merit. The podcast is his way of telling ppl, “I’m not in that life anymore”, because he’d be a fool to do both simultaneously and he’s too smart to do that.
They're not overrated. Multiple making ceremonies. Guys aren't joining an organization that isn't going anywhere. Outside of NY they are one of the most healthy families.
