    I appreciate how easy this install was. I was almost sold. I think im still leaning toward wired cameras though even if it takes me longer and more work to install. Im not a fan of having everything battery operated.

      There is a solar panel add on that you can connect to it.

    Not having continuous live feed on battery cameras is a deal breaker.
    I purchased the wireless camera with the solar panel (tapo c402) of a amazing price. Only problem is none of the battery operated cameras have continuous live feed. (times out over 10 minutes) I wanted to monitor outside 24/7 on my spare computer monitor. I'm thankful for the wireless capabilities and will be putting it down the driveway within range to record license plates as they leave. But I will be buying a Tapo C520WS keep an eye on my kids playing outside until my leg heals. I wish continuous live feed yes or no was noted in the description of the camera's

    Should've included prices for cloud subscription. If it's a fair price, should not be an issue. Also, battery powered is easy to install bit on the backend it adds to three maintenance. Up to 180 days is under ideal conditions, so let's say 120 radius because some people's systems will trigger more often for various reasons. That means you might have to pull the ladder out three times a year to either swap batteries or pull the batteries, recharge, and replace. Might not seem like much work but trust that after a while it'll become a hassle. Set and forget is what people will want even if at first they prefer the quick and cheap install.
    That said, video quality looks good and TP-Link is a solid brand.

    Good vid - but surprised you didnt mention that it can be charged via solar panel ( tp link tapo A200 ) - on the back of the camera there's a small weatherproof opening to permantly connect the solar panel = no more climing the ladder to change / charge the battery

    My house isn't a mansion so I got (eventually) a nice POE 8 camera 4k setup. I had a HD setup before with the small coax cables and just ran them along the edges of the walls and out a door or window.
    My house already has holes drilled in the floors for cable TV coax so I just dropped the network cables through the holes and underneath the house, then out the vent covers for the crawl space walls.
    Not as elegant as that wireless setup but I have 3 4k cameras up in the corners of the house in front and the back yard, no batteries to change and the 4k recordings are good enough to read license plates and clearly see faces in the driveway or street.
    I still have 1 camera left and room for another 4 if I get some more.
    If you build your own network cables the hole you'll need is like 1/4 inch or so but I used the cables it came with and had to extend one with a coupler because 60 feet wasn't enough to get to the other end of the house. I might eventually clean up and replace the cables with cat6 and build the ends myself but for now it works. Definitely more work but I get a very clear 4k video and everything is hsrd wired. They also have sound and person/vehicle detection and a 2tb 24/7 rsted hard drive.
    I paid less then 300 on a black Friday sale a couple of years ago.

    • @BTheInstaller
      @BTheInstaller  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm tired just reading that. We probably can agree two or three of these cams for that price and it all accessible from your app isn't too bad. Changing the battery one day per season even would be easier than 99% of installs

    • @69Dartman
      @69Dartman ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BTheInstaller yes, it was some work to get done but it works well and is fully accessible from my phone or tablet anywhere so was worth it to me.
      For most folks the ease of installation and low cost is definitely worth it, and the video quality seems really good.

    my hub did not connect to my orbi first try. I gave up with my new Samsung S23 and Topo app and tried my wife's old phone, and it worked and connect from the H200 hub to my Orbi routers. I then was able to use my new Samsung S23 phone.

    They aren't that good, in winter the lens foggs up and you can't see anything. For some reason I keep getting a notification saying the camera's are chewing up the power, I've basically turned everything off and set the detection to about two or three meters from the camera and and anything past that won't trigger the recording. Make sure the camera has nothing sitting beside the lenses, I placed mine on the side of the house and used the side attachment option and so the infra-red reflected against the house and the picture was washed out, couldn't see anything. The battery drain is disappointing.

    To link tapo cams are supposed to do continuous recording can you please show how or show the cams that can do this function as I have had several incidents at my residence that were NOT captured on my wireless cams because of length of event clips and slowness of cam to start recording when an event happens

    • @SueRosalie

      continuous recording will drain the battery very fast. You need a wired in system for that.
