    *Notes*
Stop these 3: Motivation ability trigger
Motivation: How do I demotivate myself from doing the behavior? Hardest to do
Trigger: What's the trigger? Remove the trigger, eliminate the problem.
Ability: When you can't get rid of the trigger, make it harder for you to do it. You are having no ice cream at home if you are on a diet.
    Seek alternative behaviors.
What other behavior you can do to replace it? For example, instead of eating ice cream, eat plain yogurt with apple and cinnamon.

Maybe it's actually 'braking' a habit.. like braking a car to a stop.. it's a noticing and then applying something to gradually bring it to a safe stop??? Maybe a good visual??
Rather than breaking or snapping a habit..
    Just a thought...

I respect Mr. Kwik but I’ve got to tell you Wellbutrin is very effective in smoking cessation and stopping other compulsive behaviors. Then once your behaviors are regulated and you’ve formed new healthy routines you can go off of it without the severe withdrawal symptoms of other medications. Just a thought for those who are really struggling ...

How about just being fully 'awake' and observing the tendencies to the point of realising it's not even you, and watching this inner activity long enough just dissolves it. You can't fix anything on the same level the problem exists on, awareness is needed.

There are Videos on emotional eating, eg Brittany Wattkins. I repeat the sentence "I am enough" from Marisa Peer and I use EFT. You are right - when you start changing your diet the more food is visible the harder it is to withstand.

Hey jim, first of all please tell how to make a habit to wake up early in the morning cause I'm struggling with the bad habit of waking up late in the morning and sleeping early at night. Please tell me what should I do? 🙏🙏

Could this be a demotivation hack for chocolate lovers? Imagine your chocolate out of its wrapper on the grass melting on the grass. You accidentally step in it and it sticks to your shoe. You lift your shoe and take a stick to try and scrape the chocolate off your shoe and you notice this awful smell. It smells like dog poo and there is nuts in it and bits of grass. You start to gag and don't really feel like that chocolate now.

      I love that!
Although chocolate is good for your brain, according to Jim anyway, so maybe save a tiny bit of it for your morning brain smoothie!

@@ZacticalZombie dark chocolate; maybe lol. But I promise you, most chocolate lovers aren’t eating dark chocolate.

By substituting the yoghurt for the ice cream isn't there a possibility that eating the yoghurt will become a habit - when the habit you were trying to break was snacking....?? Just curious....

No it won't be a habit

Hiranmayi Hemanth My husband had the habit of having a sweet snack an hour after dinner, it doesn’t matter what ‘better choice’ substitutes he replaced the biscuits, cakes, ice cream, sweet yoghurt with, like nuts or fresh fruit - the problem was NOT the food instead it was the compulsive habit to have a snack at the same time everyday - he readily admitted he WAS NOT hungry and was gaining weight from all the non hungry, unnecessary eating despite eating less sweet and less calorie dense foods. He was addicted to the habit of eating a snack after dinner which, in his case, the habit was brought to an immediate halt by having absolutely NONE of his ‘snack’ type foods in the house - thankfully he was too lazy to go to the supermarket at 8pm at night to buy snack foods. BUT if the snack foods are brought back into the house he’d definitely get stuck into them without any hesitation. He’s addicted to sweets - anything that is sweet - and savoury snacks, basically ALL carbs for LIFE...
