  • Enjoy listening to a 10 minute music loop of Dr. John’s version of the song “Down in New Orleans” as you wind your way around the Salt Dome! At first I first thought this audio was going to be a temporary thing but unfortunately it’s not; honestly this part would’ve benefited from a custom instrumental music loop but instead we have this now but I’ll reserve any judgement until I ride the ride!
    This music loop is strictly stereo!
    All rights of the music belongs to the Walt Disney CO. & Studio along with a shout out to Dr. John for the vocals and Randy Newman for the song/ music!!!

    I definitely wish that this was instrumental for the front of the attraction. Let's see how it blends with Frontierland and Critter Country (It already sounds weird with the Frontierland area music). It will also be the only area music with vocals on such a short loop.

      Just let me say thank you for being an inspiration behind my own TH-cam channel and I’m a huge fan of all your content!! Same I’m kind of underwhelmed by this! Originally I thought this was temporary and they would change it but unfortunately I was wrong such a missed opportunity! I’m trying my best to stay open minded but it’s getting harder and harder, take notice how Disney really only gave us a sneak peek of the finale and not any music of the beginning! I feel like if Disney was truly proud and excited to unveil this attraction they would’ve at least played us one full song or let us hear more music but who knows maybe I’m being too biased and judgmental! This ride makes sense thematically wise at Disneyland but anybody that says politics weren’t involved when Disney killed Splash Mountain they’re completely naive bc why would they do this to Magic Kingdom’s version especially when that was the more popular version because MK doesn’t have a New Orleans Square but to even further my point they literally killed Splash Mountain bc they removed any references to Splash Mountain in every US Disney Park, they removed Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah from every area music loop in the park, they don’t play it at rope drop anymore, they aren’t selling anymore merchandise of any of the three main characters, they destroyed all of the shops, they didn’t and have not paid any homage to the ride or its history and I mean for one of the most famous attractions in the world whether you hated its OG roots like the movie or not they completely disrespected a ride that literally saved Disneyland in the late 80’s to early 90’s when attendance was an all time low so yeah it’s very sad to see a lot of this stuff happening but I know TBA will be good it’s just sad that it’ll never be better than Splash Mountain. It may improve some aspects of the attraction but I don’t think this was a worthy replacement at all. 😢 But we’ll see what happens! But thank you Disneyland Musician!!!

    I love splash mountain with my heart and I know people may hate the new ride, however we still have to wait and see it may be good but won’t be as good as splash but we have to have faith for the new ride and pray it will be decent.

      I 100% agree I’m excited with anticipation for TBA even though I think the change was ridiculous and unnecessary I’m still eager to ride it but I will stand by my statement that no matter how good TBA is, Splash Mountain will always reign supreme and remain a true Disneyland classic and an underrated gem in theme park history!!!

      @@USSVoyager5 I hope Disney proves me wrong and makes me write an apology letter on my TH-cam channel but I’m very skeptical even after watching the news from the past few days. I think I’m more skeptical bc of Disney’s poor history of attraction rethemes/ reskins of old Disneyland classics and worst of all DCA is plagued with this issue ranging from Soarin’ Over California, Tower of Terror, Paradise Pier, California Screamin’, Hyperspace Mountain and the list can go on and on but not every retheme/ reskin has been bad like Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, it’s a small world Holiday, and Haunted Mansion Holiday but the reason IMO why those rethemes/ reskins were so successful were bc they weren’t trying to take away anything from the original attraction they were just simply adding to the story or what was already there and they made these changes with respect to the classic OG attraction before it. And not to rehash the past but look how they disregarded and disrespectfully attacked Splash Mountain based on a movie that 98.9% of Americans have never seen or probably even known about until Disney opened their mouths about it in 2021. Again I hope I’m wrong but knowing how well Disney performs when they make decisions based off of emotions and not with logical reasoning for the greater good for the guest experience they don’t usually perform as well as we all know they’re capable of doing but again I hope Disney 100% proves me wrong and I really do mean it when I say I’m willing for Disney to change my mind!

    I just read the description and I can’t believe they won’t feature any music from the movie in the new attraction. That’s like not hearing a single bit of John Williams Star Wars themes in Galaxys edge. Disney is just loosing it.

    • @DisneyParksMusic.
      @DisneyParksMusic.  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We may hear a remastered version of Dig a Little Deeper, Down in New Orleans, or Gonna Take You There in Zydeco form with some characters reprising their roles from the film as well as new voices for the new characters but the big picture Disney wants is to make this ride a sequel to the events that took place in the Princess and the Frog. Like I said there may be some references to the first movie’s score but they really want to stray away from any tithes to the first film as this ride will take place 2 decades in the future after the events of the first movie. Note that I could easily be wrong but following the news very closely interpreting the words Disney uses it sounds like they may throw subtle references from the movie like maybe one song in the ride or instrumental versions of songs in the queue but most of the stuff they said they were going to do was going to be custom specifically for the ride. To use your example you obviously would hear John Williams’s music for anything Star Wars related in the parks but Disney may want John Williams to create something special and brand new for the parks specifically like Galaxy’s Edge the land. Galaxy’s Edge is a great example of what I’m talking about because if you listen carefully there’s subtle yet calming music that plays behind the loud sounds of alien creatures lurking in the forest but Rise of the Resistance on the other hand is not custom or creative at all as pretty much 99% of the music is a compilation of John Williams’s best score performances across the span of the 3 new main movies; The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and the Rise of Skywalker!

      @@DisneyParksMusic. The ride takes place 2 years after the movie. The ride will feature "Down in New Orleans", "Almost There", "Gonna take you there" (Going down the bayou), "Dig a little deeper", and a new original song for the finale. So the only new written music for the ride is going to be for the queue and the finale of the ride. I really wish that they kept Splash Mountain! Nothing can replace the good old Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah days of Critter Country at Disneyland. ;(

Disney killing Splash Mountain the way they did in my eyes is honestly an unforgivable sin that won’t ever be forgotten no matter how great Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is! But that’s just my opinion honestly that’s why I keep making Splash Mountain music!!!

      I agree this is why I hate reskinned attractions bc the music is never custom or original it’s always music they’ve already made and it’s so unbelievably lazy. IMO they honestly chose the worst IP out of their entire library to retheme this attraction too. Princess and the Frog characters deserved better not a cheap reskin with a couple high cutting edge tech animatronics! Personally they should’ve left Splash Mountain alone, I could totally understand if they just made the change to Disneyland as it would fit snuggly into the New Orleans Square theme but there was no reason to change Magic Kingdom’s version of the attraction they could’ve easily spent the money to fix or replace all of the broken animatronics but they instead chose to clone a reskin of the same ride that they had no idea whether it was gonna be a hit with guests or a failure.

    • @DisneyParksMusic.
      @DisneyParksMusic.  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You’re right they are going to make custom songs for the ride this is just temporary music they’re using as a placeholder until the ride officially opens or a week prior to it’s opening! I’m assuming the music heard in this video is just a way to test the speakers and how much sound they need to use so it doesn’t out sound the music of Frontierland and the exit to Adventureland! I agree I’ve watched Song of the South movie 4x and I love it, it’s such a beautiful movie it honestly deserves more love and people need to stop shitting on a movie they’ve probably never seen and stop repeating media narratives. I don’t hate Princess and the Frog in fact I thoroughly enjoy that movie but it really deserved its stand alone attraction not a retheme of a beloved popular Disney classic; I won’t judge the ride before I go on it so I can’t say whether it’ll be good or bad but I know and truly believe that sadly it will never hold a candle to the high bar that Splash Mountain has set for the past 34 years!
