I always dropped the entire subframe, one bolt to the steering shaft (near the footbrake) and 4 bolts keep the entire subframe to the car. With these bolts removed the subframe drops 20 cm and then you have more than enough space to put the gearbox back in. With the subframe in place the only way to do it is taking the tripodes off the gearbox, very simple, one 6mm inbus in the middle. Only needs to be tightened to 25 Nm.

you may think you are a small man but you can do this bro. I replaced a fiesta 2007 gearbox when i was 17 by myself with just a wheel jack, and also a renault clio around that same time over 10 years ago. this is nothing.
