Some sort of UPS would be nice thing to add. Even a dirty cheap one for critical network and NAS. I know the feeling, I've got a 32U loaded with stuff and it's collecting dust and sucks power for most of the time. But yeah, it looks cool :D
I don't know man, I'm all about the Azure cloud these days. They have virtualization, ai learning, analytics, databases, containers, you name it. Most of it is free too but I get it, I like to tinker with the hardware myself.
looks great i like those hp mini pc, i'm thinking buy it for host game server for my friends long time, but i'm not sure those gen8 intel cpu good or bad for game server hosting, they need many cpu and ram. and maybe you can replace the bottom old hp pc to UPS? if you want just buy Line-Interactive UPS, don't buy ON LINE UPS, they need more maintenance, may cause fire if neglected, Line-Interactive UPS much safe
These days I'm all about nested virtualization I work on too many projects that require multiple servers. Also XCP-NG, Proxmox, Hyper-V, and native KVM all support nested virtualization.
wow it's so quiet. I have a dl380 gen8 and that thing scream all the time. I even have some modded bios on there to turn the fans down a bit and it's still louder than a hairdryer
“they don’t do anything just sit their and suck power” I get you, I even love that too lol😂 nice lab!
I finally managed to turn off an old servers I was going to “spend a few weeks migrating some services off” after no less than a year.

For most small/micro formfactor HPs you can get nice rackmount kits. Some of them are modular too. :)
Snag a UPS!
You can find some good deals on them refurbished / used if you keep your eyes out.
I have it because it's pretty seems to be a common thing among people.

Nice little rack setup.
HI, thanks for the video but when you say you choose ProxMox with ESXi nested how do you switch both the CPU and IOMMU to ESXi?
I scanned the QR and lead to your website... 😅

@@MatijaFistric yeah. Fortunately it's in the basement so it doesn't matter too much how much noise it makes
