I have loved this show from the beginning . It always made me wonder why Clark would never fly or be in his suit in Smallville . We could have gotten several years of Superman making saves in Smallville . The actor had the no tights no flights promise in his contract .What a stupid restriction .
Agreed. Even at the end we never got a good shot of him in the suit and they copped out during the Crisis episodes as well. It seems like there was a huge aversion to Tom being in the suit. It could have worked out a lot better than the stupid "red-blue blur" stories.
@@progamerjakestudios8553 Tom welling in smallville did not wear the suit “multiple times”. Reading comprehension is a great tool, might want to pick it up 🤦🏻♂️
@@jamesrevere2992 bro u literally never said tom wellings I thought u were referring to him never wearing his suit in his hometown thats why I corrected u
Was the showrunners who made that, not Tom. Love that show, but Miller and Gough did that after Batman & Robin tanked DC. Now we live in an Era where Batman & Robin has been the average quality of these projects for nearly 8 years and we see the Superman show with both tights and flights is some of the best work DC has put on TV for about a decade.
Man, this show, in one episode, has given us the best live-action take on Jimmy we've gotten. I love seeing how Jimmy in this show and My Adventures With Superman have given us arguably the best depictions of Jimmy Olsen we've ever seen and I love how much joyful energy both of them exude, both in live-action and animation. I'm super excited to see Skylar Gisondo's Jimmy Olsen in James Gunn's Superman movie next year.
This was a great episode! Seeing this world’s version of Jimmy Olsen was epic, but I was surprised at how far Clark had to go to keep his secret identity from a guy who could have been a good friend to him. Although the ending where Jimmy comes to Smallville and reconciles with Clark was truly spectacular. All in all, the flashbacks were the standout parts in this episode but the present day story was so good. Definitely one of my favorites.
This made me so angry. We were straight up robbed. This dude captured the entire episode, was the best Jimmy Olsen ever even with such minimal screen time, and delivered such an emotional performance that you feel like he's always kinda been there. This show was outstanding and I'm really gonna miss it. I wish we had more seasons to flesh out his character and others.
@Margotrivera1980 um...okay lol. You know CW is a failing studio and was already ending the genres of show Superman and Lois are. It was bought out by another group lol. Not James Gunn fault 💀
I like the fact that this episode payed homage to the Christopher Reeves Superman movies by placing Easter Eggs such as the scene in this clip in which Jimmy Olsen shows Clark his computer screen detailing Superman's saves on those times that Clark Kent failed to show up for the games. The scene of Superman catching a helicopter that fell off a building, and Superman saving a train from a blown-out train track is a nod to Superman 1 (1978)...and the scene of Superman preventing the crash of a plummeting elevator in the Eiffel Tower, is a nod to Superman II. Great scene!!
“A crashing helicopter, a blown out train track, a falling elevator at the Eiffel Tower” amazing references to the big save scenes from Superman I + II
and the clips Jimmy is showing are all from the very first Superman movie with Christopher Reeve! Those are the saves he did in that movie :-) Cool easter egg!!
Dose the funding for the Daily Planet suck so much that the employees have to use computers/monitor from the late 80's, early 90's? This is happening parallel to the Super Girl continuity, and they got holograms and clear flat screens
This show tackles some issues we never got to see, it's not perfect but it's a damn good Superman show. I'm 48 and waited my whole life for a decent Superman series, not bad at all. And no, I don't consider Smallville a Superman series. Cuz that show was epic
Plus Welling never wore the suit (even in the finale, it's CGI). Smallville is a young Clark series, not a Superman series. Lois & Clark was good and Cain leaned into the "Clark Kent is who I am, Superman is what I do" philosophy but let's be honest, that was Lois' show. People were tuning in for Hatcher far more than Cain. But this show...man, Hoechlin is the best live action Clark Kent by a mile. What I love about this show is that Clark isn't pretending to be a dork, he is a dork. His Clark feels real but so does his Superman and the writing on the show has generally been good to a point where characters make decisions they should make, rather than making poor decisions for the sake of artificial drama, something we saw far too often in the Arrowverse. Characters have real conversations and are true to who they are in the comics. Even the teen drama stuff isn't as grating as it can be in those kinds of shows. People make real, human decisions. Corenswet has a lot to live up to but I'm hopeful. I get the feeling that Gunn is going to make a hopeful, uplifting Superman movie. I vividly remember how depressed i felt after seeing Man Of Steel. I never want to feel that way about a Superman movie or show again. Superman and Lois gave us the wholesome Superman we need and I hope Corenswet can continue that in his own way.
Amen! Henry Cavill is the shit, and seems like a great dude, but grimdark Superman isn't real Superman. Hope, service, altruism, simple kindness, honestly, patriotism... And invincible, incorruptible optimism is what Superman really is. And God we need it now.
You know, as Much as they "Try" to Replicate him, No One Will Ever be able to come Even as close to as good as Aaron Ashmore's character of Jimmy Olsen in the Smallville Series of Superman
I have faith Gunn will have a good superman series. But it's just a fact that Tyler Hoechlin was born to play Superman. In my book (as an old guy who has followed superman for over 50 years), Hoechlin is the best. However, I also acknowledge that he stood on the shoulders of giants- especially Christopher Reeves who invented some of the techniques Hoechlin used to play superman.
Clark Kent opens up to Jimmy Olsen? Not really. Clark Kent opened up to the world first, starting with the people in the cafe. THEN, he tops it all off with a heart felt apology to Jimmy.
Sadly, i had a feeling this would happen as a consequence of disconnecting this show from Earth Prime, which still had Jimmy know Clark's identity and still be best friends, even if apart.
And so Clark had revealed his true identity to the world and Clark is now open up to the world that he is not afraid anymore but lex is still out there and he will find a way to stop for good
Crisis on infinite earths also erased the big black jimmy from supergirl or this different jimmy? I stop watching cw after crisis event so i really don't know
When Clark said he is not SuperMan he was telling the truth. Clark to Lois: "Clark Kent is who I am. SuperMan is what I can do." Clark always sees himself as Clark not as SuperMan. SuperMan is the alias/alter ego Clark uses to help people.
It’ll be sad to not be/see Clark again! The way I se it is like this… Clark built his life around his dual persona, you had people who knew Clark Kent, a nerd farm boy from Smallville, Ks! Then you had this mighty superpower superhero who flys all around the world helping and saving lives! Clark Kent had the best of both worlds..for a time! Then he met Lois and he knew she was the one he wanted to share his life with😢! But before 🍑🍌🍓🍒…he needed to tell her the truth! That was a good thing…it had purpose! He could be the hero the world needed as Superman, and have a steak meal at the diner with Lois as Clark and not have all the stares and unfiltered whispers…😮… As Clark Kent he became…felt Normal! Just like anyone else! Get a job, and not be recognized as Superman, or ridiculed because Clark Kent who is the man of steel is taking away jobs from normal folks! So with the secret out what job is there for a mild mannered Superman to do? Work for the government…and pray they don’t stick him in a room with a red light 6000 feet below the earth! It’s also a little weird to see Superman act goofy and listen or rock out to Reo Speed wagon…it’ll be a little weird to see Superman act like Clark in regular clothes too! I’ll leave off with this…What are the odds of Superman missing Clark…like he lost his best friend😢! They may both be the same person but to Superman, they were pals!
He doesn't stop being Clark. This Clark Kent is real. It's not a facade. He's actually a wholesome dork. This show goes with the "Clark Kent is who I am, Superman is what I do" philosophy. Also, Clark doesn't seem to actually have a job in this show. He quit the Daily Planet and in Smallville has worked as an assistant coach for the football team but for the most part he's basically been focusing on raising his kids and being Superman. Being Superman is his job so nothing really changes there. People know that Superman is Clark Kent and it might be more intrusive if he was living in Metropolis but in Smallville, everyone already knows him. He grew up there. The people are in awe that he's Superman but he's still one of their own.
Thats not Jimmy Olsen though, since his cousin is supergirl from the show and supposedly superman sent Olsen to watch over her which was revealed in season 1 of supergirl

It could have worked out a lot better than the stupid "red-blue blur" stories.
what r u talking abt hes been in the suit multiple times and saved ppl
I can't believe this series is almost finished and were introduced to an iconic character 4:14
We werent
how is this show making me cry from just watching clips
Ahh falling elevator at the eiffel tower. That brings back memories.
I know i really want to boycott the new movie
@Margotrivera1980 um...okay lol. You know CW is a failing studio and was already ending the genres of show Superman and Lois are. It was bought out by another group lol. Not James Gunn fault 💀
Love the reference to the og superman movies
Falling Elevator at the Eiffel Tower, nice one, hahah
I like the fact that this episode payed homage to the Christopher Reeves Superman movies by placing Easter Eggs such as the scene in this clip in which Jimmy Olsen shows Clark his computer screen detailing Superman's saves on those times that Clark Kent failed to show up for the games. The scene of Superman catching a helicopter that fell off a building, and Superman saving a train from a blown-out train track is a nod to Superman 1 (1978)...and the scene of Superman preventing the crash of a plummeting elevator in the Eiffel Tower, is a nod to Superman II. Great scene!!
this JIMMY
is much better than the one on
SUPERGIRL
aren't they in the same universe though? Im confused.
@jspur22
yes
in the SUPERGIRL series
they show how
she & SUPERMAN met
I thought you look completely different from the Jimmy in Supergirl because in that one he's black & in this one he's white
@@andrewblanchard2398 you didn't even answer the question lol. Dude is black in Supergirl.
@jspur22
I know that
that's 1 of the
1000 reasons that show
SUCKED
“A crashing helicopter, a blown out train track, a falling elevator at the Eiffel Tower” amazing references to the big save scenes from Superman I + II
and the clips Jimmy is showing are all from the very first Superman movie with Christopher Reeve! Those are the saves he did in that movie :-) Cool easter egg!!
This show was so good. It's a shame it ended so early.
It's amazing what a pair of glasses can do...
Nice nod to the Chris Reeve movies.
Jimmy "being the bunt king, that was genius. The way you bunted a homerun with the tip of the bat"
Clark "yeah, I though it might have been too much"
Dose the funding for the Daily Planet suck so much that the employees have to use computers/monitor from the late 80's, early 90's? This is happening parallel to the Super Girl continuity, and they got holograms and clear flat screens
There are actual flat screen tvs in the background!
I havent watched this show but this superman actor is good
Wholesome.
You know, as Much as they "Try" to Replicate him, No One Will Ever be able to come Even as close to as good as Aaron Ashmore's character of Jimmy Olsen in the Smallville Series of Superman
Damm James Gunn has a very hard act to follow now
I have faith Gunn will have a good superman series.
I was half expecting it to be the Jimmy from Supergirl, i know they arent the same universe but still lol
Clark Kent opens up to Jimmy Olsen? Not really. Clark Kent opened up to the world first, starting with the people in the cafe. THEN, he tops it all off with a heart felt apology to Jimmy.
I would like to see what the boss of the daily planet thinks after finding out clark could make his articles in a couple seconds.
Harsher deadlines. More work loads. Clark complains. Perry White tells him he has super speed. No excuses. 😅😅😅
Falling elevator at the Eiffel Tower. Nice.
"Pal." Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen.
That only took him, what, 15 years?
1:20 "Clark Kent are you Superman?" Nothing to see here. Just two guys on date, no more secrets? Thanks CW.
Jimmy coming across like a serial killer.
Clark to met up Jimmy and have a catch up
😂😂😂 it took them 4 season to notice it was him
Sadly, i had a feeling this would happen as a consequence of disconnecting this show from Earth Prime, which still had Jimmy know Clark's identity and still be best friends, even if apart.
Superman is Clarke Kent!
I like the part where he doesn't tell him his secret.
Why does Jimmy look like he could have been the CW's Joker !!!!
And so Clark had revealed his true identity to the world and Clark is now open up to the world that he is not afraid anymore but lex is still out there and he will find a way to stop for good
Bro I lost 14 brain cells trying to read this title
so weird seeing Clark/Superman have to physically look up to Jimmy Olsen
Thats the tallest Jimmy Olsen in the multiverse
What time period is this show set? That monitor is ancient.
Is he the tallest jimmy olsen we had?
I guess this clip only makes sense if you are psychic
jimmy calling clark CK ,remind me of smallvile jimmy calling clark CK😅
Jimmy is tall!
JIMMY IS SO FUCKING TALL OH MY GOD
I thought Superman never lies
I was expecting jimmy form supergirl show
@@Scarlettraventaqua1 Like with Lex Luthor Jimmy is also played by a different character in this show because it takes place on a different world.
I hope Diggle whos up for a last time😂
Jimmy being taller than Clark feels weird.
Crisis on infinite earths also erased the big black jimmy from supergirl or this different jimmy? I stop watching cw after crisis event so i really don't know
Superman & Lois didn't happened in The Arrowverse so different Earth
So we just gonna ignore how much Jimmy and Jordan look alike??
Something must be going on in the DC fandom right now. I'd never know what it is though
Never thought anything about this episode till I realised Jimmy wasn't black and this is ment to be all universes together
At what point in this video does he tell his secret?
The clip in the dinner is after Clark revealed his identity to the world and by extension, jimmy.
Wait I thought people can see it's Superman if he takes off glasses now they can't ???
soooo.... wheres the part where he tells jimmy?
Jimmy saw the news report when Clark revealed his identity
I thought this show was a spinoff after Crisis on Inifinite Earths? Where James Olsen looks VERY differant.
They changed it to be another universe because the Arrowverse kinda like...Imploded.
It's in a separate universe. It's not technically the same Superman and Lois who were in the Arrowverse as Supergirl's family.
When Clark said he is not SuperMan he was telling the truth.
Clark to Lois: "Clark Kent is who I am. SuperMan is what I can do."
Clark always sees himself as Clark not as SuperMan. SuperMan is the alias/alter ego Clark uses to help people.
It’ll be sad to not be/see Clark again! The way I se it is like this…
Clark built his life around his dual persona, you had people who knew Clark Kent, a nerd farm boy from Smallville, Ks!
@@rogerbryson5218 It is Jimmy Olsen from this show because Superman & Lois is set on a different world/universe then the other Arrowverse shows. That’scalso why they got a diffrent actor playing Lex Luthor.
@superrenai9338 but during the alien crossover event supergirl introduced him as her cousin so they are from the same earth, and the black james olsen is the one sent by superman to watch over supergirl
@@rogerbryson5218 That’s true but they changed it and set this show in another universe with some actors playing the same characters and other getting played by other actors can indeed be a confusing thing.
@superrenai9338 it's stupid to erase all the universes but one just to start a show that's later set in a universe that should not even exist
@@rogerbryson5218 Yeah it can be weird and stupid but I guess they did it maybe to get a more focused show with only Superman stuff so they don't really had to include any other Arrowverse stuff. They didn’t really erase the Arrowverse storylines but just didn’t really include it.
Clickbait title. Clark doesn't open up at all.
Bruh what happened to the Jimmy in Supergirl. Thought it was supposed to be the same one…..
@@aknightwing9077 No because Superman & Lois is set on a diffrent world / universe Jimmy is played by a different actor on this show like they’ve done with Lex Luthor.
