The fact that people just... Walk past these is baffling. I'm always shooting crates whenever I see them esp off zipline back to base. If anything is good I'll nab it on the way back. Also sliding through them during lane rotations is just free bonuses. It probably wins me games.
Imo they were always very good, especially if you get "lucky". Getting multiples of fire rate for Haze or Spirit for Seven - which, atleast in middle elos, is incredible because the games usually go to 30 mins or so. Getting 3 spirit statues is a full on 500$/1250$ items worth on Seven.
Current meta is insane for Seven. Early Statues and Easy Camp. Staggered Medium Camps. Hard Camps come online right as you're coming online with level 3 Ball. It's the perfect storm.
The most important aspect about golden statues I don't hear anyone talk about is the fact that those buffs do not take up any skill slots. So when the game goes very late and slots become prized real estate I have a feeling these buffs will be the difference maker.
I don't particularly like mobas, and I don't particularly like ability-focused shooters, but somehow I love deadlock. I think it comes down to the fast paced movement sort of like arena shooters like quake and unreal tournament which I loved back in the day. Great game and good video.
They way I see it, they reduce the opportunity cost of traveling the map. But you should always be traveling somewhere meaningful. And there are far too many people on the map to assume they will be there when you arrive. When laning though I try to grab the ones mid lane if I'm in a good position. In middle lanes, I'll absolutely take the ones at the top of the midboss building any time the enemy is pushed back.
Sometimes its the best option, its rare but it happens, for example al waves are pushed, there is no farm on map, but you dont see any enemies nor possibility to engage
Before the box nerf, Vegas would play Kelvin then stack sprint speed and collect as many boxes as they could. They ended games with close to 300 spirit and 5k health while being unkillable lol
Pro tip, with the boxes above mid boss. Use you're stamina leaps to go through all 3 at once. that way there you're not wasting time shooting or melee, all one fluid motion. I also like to snag the 14 or so boxes in the subway by each shop if there is time.... or you are transitioning lanes.
Also better to use stamina to grab the boxes if you're stealing them on the enemy side so they don't hear your shooting. Also, breaking them that way doesn't break stealth, while shooting them does.
Underpass next to the shop has a great set of boxes and statues Love just sliding through those courtesy of the conveniently placed stairs. Of course comes with a slightly longer time spent off the lane
In the first 5 seconds of the video I only had one thought, "Isn't that Drongo from AoE-IV, I've listened to many TH-camrs but some were very similar vocally so I might be wron-" "My name is Drongo, this is-" "Finally, I wasn't tripping." Good to see you branching out, trying new games and having fun. Loved your AoE-IV videos.
Boxes that you missed T3 camp near your base. There're tons of them. And, ofc, you can then go downstairs in to subway, where you can get a few more. It's a very easy and fast route, in which you can easily destroy around 15 boxes and 5-6 golden statues. It all takes around 30-40 seconds Also worth mentioning the boxes in duo lanes near slot machines. You have 3 of them downstairs and 3-4 on top of the roof. From there you can easily get back to your lane in like 5 sexonds Missed boxes in underground t2 camp which a little bit harder to get, but there're 3 golden statues down here
Something that's a bit out of the way but pretty useful is that their is quite a lot of boxes and vases in the tunnels, so it may be a good idea to go out if your way to get those.
Played in so many games where everyone just completely forgets to ever take urn but a few times. People don't realize how important the smaller aspects can really turn games

Good info, you missed the boxes underground tho. After almost 150hr into the game this place still feels like a maze to me, but I think it’s actually a hidden gem. Many boxes very close to each other and might be a better ganking route.
What would be nice is if light meleeing doesnt remove sprint speed. The annoying part that comes with breaking the boxes while rotating is that you slow down your rotation everytime you punch a box
Another problem is letting your opponent free farm. If you could deny 2 souls instead of doing the camp its roughly the same swing in points. You will be stronger as will you opponent if you do boxes, if you deny souls you get less money but you opponent is weaker.
You forgot the biggest reason to collect statues. A lot of deadlock games go into late game territory and therefore final builds. Statues are the only way to push your stats beyond your final build.
