    I got the 2018 X3 xrs in orange last year and only got to put 47 miles on it. Love it, but hoped I would be able to play with it more. I still like buying upgrades for it anyway.

    Hey Brandon
    The biggest improved we did to see better and be more comfortable was adding DFR seats ,put the aluminum spacers under the rear seat mount and the front mount in the bottom hole.

    The forward visibility was my only complaint with the x3. For tighter riding and crawling the rzr is tough to beat but the power of that x3 is awesome and super comfortable in the dunes and desert.

    Hope to see a comparison video thru this section with the new RZR, I really want to hear what you think as far as visibility and performance I’m wondering if the longer wheelbase of the CanAm would be an advantage in the rocks or not. You’ve got more weight on the front end for hill climbing but less ground clearance. Really value your thoughts, hope you get out there soon.

    You may need an aftermarket front camera with the screen to see what is in front if you like the Ford Raptor has stock.

      Yeah that would be cool I know Can-Am just came out with an accessory camera that uses the rear view mirror😎👍

    Love it :D Going all technical though, it feels like the CVT belt is slightly too loose? It just seems more snatch than just the throttle use could cause? Like it grabs drive at 1500rpm?

    • @pmutah
      @pmutah  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +teamidris it actually really wasn't too bad I accidentally left the machine and sport mode and it makes the throttle super jumpy so it's more my driving I was being really cautious and I couldn't see out the front very well👍

    • @teamidris
      @teamidris 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My truck is the same on vision. I should get a camera on the front :o) (probably not a bad idea) I've just been messing with my Diablo ATV because it had that old Polaris problem where the belt drag held it in gear. I added washers to pretend I had a stronger spring and moved the gearbox further from the engine. I was super pleased with the result :o)

      does the x3 xrc r with the gear reduction for crawling do you still get the 80 plus top speed ? or is it lowered

    • @pmutah
      @pmutah  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tim Delbruegge I'm not sure but my guess would be that the gearing is the exact same as the XRS it's definitely just as fast in the wide open and the low range felt the same to me

  • @jameskempf2581
    @jameskempf2581 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question, will I be disappointed buying the 120 hp XRC? Most of my riding is on narrow trails of West VA.

    • @pmutah
      @pmutah  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      James Kempf James I doubt you will miss the horsepower if you do a lot of sand dunes and desert like me you notice the power but in the mountains or rock crawling then power doesn't really matter the smaller xrc looks pretty awesome to me.

    Nice vid and editing Brandon. Love your X3 and hoping to trade my outlander for one. How are you liking the X3? Are there any pros and cons of owning one because I’m VERY interested in buying one.👍👍 Love the vid Brandon and hope this channel keeps on growing👍👍

      @pmutah  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Off-Road Edition hey thanks man I appreciate all the support. I love the X3 and I've had just about every side by side you can imagine it is by far the funnest most well-built best side by side out today there's very few cons and there's a lot of Pros it just seems like it does everything good. maybe one, is that it's a little expensive lol.👍

  • @superjoe83
    @superjoe83 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Looks great, but I bet belt life in the rocks would be short, it really needs a extra low range. There is too much belt slip IMO, that's going to eat a groove in the bottom of the primary over time

    • @pmutah
      @pmutah  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +joe hartley actually the belt engagement was fine I accidentally had it in sport and it makes the throttle really jumpy. you just need to put it in Eco and it's smooth.👍

      I was actually amazed at just how low the gearing is in low on the x3. One of the main reasons I was so nervous to purchase one. I ride a lot of tight trails and crawl a lot. But it will seriously go at a walking pace with no problems what so ever.

  • @jamesprete

    You really need some driving lessons

    • @erikb8877
      @erikb8877 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First lesson: throttle control

    • @erikb8877
      @erikb8877 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2nd lesson: map terrain and obstacles in your mind before you lose visibility

  • @erikb8877
    @erikb8877 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe we’ll find out if it actually crawls if he ever gets it out of the parking lot.
    Sorry to bust your chops but most people don’t start rock crawling by going out and buying a brand new $30k RTR crawler. Most start with a stock rig with open diffs. And gradually mod rig as skill improves. By the way, real rocks move around on you.

  • @11BravoJake
    @11BravoJake 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The RZR is better for this type of riding. The Maverick is good for flat-out woops but its seating is so relaxed that you can't see whats in front of you. That's why the RZR is more up right

    Looks like like a struggle to keep that belt engaged? Is there a difference in the clutch or gearing from the XRS?
    It took me a while to get the hang of crawling with my X3 XRS. Holding RPM's just right for smooth crawling is a skill. When I put a beginner behind the wheel in a crawling obstacle I am reminded of the differences from a transmission to a belt. Was thinking about adding a front locker but wonder if I could be left wanting. Recently did Poison spider trail and understand more than ever why the XRC is the ultimate machine.

    • @donbement7747

      Spencer Deputy
      He said he forgot and left it in sport mode which makes it way harder to crawl due to how touchy the throttle is.

    I know the can am atvs clunck but this also why?? isn't it make for whips and hard terrain going fast. do u hear clunks when going off roading and in genaral ...ohh how i wish this machine was made by yamaha...

    • @pmutah
      @pmutah  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      theninja001 the Gering is actually not that bad I had it in sport mode so the throttle is really jumpy and the other big problem is I just didn't know what was in front of me on the video you can't really tell but in the cab you just cannot see in front of the car.

    Three things, the first being bro you in the desert and your wearing a sweatshirt and gloves? Second thing, next time you rock crawl put it in low hearing that engine flair up and watching you bounce back and fourth was almost unbearable.

      even in the desert it gets cool enough that a sweat shirt or a jacket is needed in the winter.

      @pmutah  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Jake Arnold what's wrong with wearing a sweatshirt and gloves in the desert it was cold. second of all it was in low. I had to suspension super soft and I left it in sport mode so it made it a little touchy. thanks for the comment.👍

    • @pmutah
      @pmutah  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      stang1970 it was in low I did forget to put it in eco but the biggest thing is I just couldn't see and so I was being extra careful with the throttle and it was super touchy thanks for the comment

    Either That Can Am sucks balls or the driver doesn't know how to crawl. Looks to me like The Can Am has some issues engaging smoothly in low range. I'll stick with my Matte Gold LE RZR. That thing eats rocks for breakfast. - th-cam.com/video/6WE_rbYf1FI/w-d-xo.html - th-cam.com/video/9kCAa7EnIWs/w-d-xo.html

      +AV8R Tom Tom thanks for the comment. it was my shity driving I had my suspensions set very soft from just cruising through the desert an hour before and I had the throttle set on sport which makes it very jumpy. and it was my first day riding in the machine. Definitely nothing wrong with an RZR but if you get a chance go take a spin and xrc I think you would be impressed👍
