Update: took my Gb4 up to 3000 on the spinner and it is way cleaner. We bowled on Gateway Arch (high volume 42’) tonight and I was going up 11-12 hugging the track area on the fresh with a very controlled read for 259 my first game. It now fits between my Hero Solid and Knockout which makes far more sense in my bag.
I wanted to ask: I'm beginning to build my arsenal and so far I have a Black Widow 2.0 as my stronger ball and a Tropical Surge as a weaker ball. I'm looking for my next piece and I wanted to see which was best. I had my eye on the GB4 for a while and I want to know if it would fit well on my bag with the rest. My bowl style is similar to yours, so it would be a great comparison.
@@kevinsanchez-wr9vm the Widow 2.0 should be similar to the Omni I threw in this video and would be a good option in fresh medium/heavy oil. The GB4 with a smoother (3-4k) finish should be a little calmer and handle most mediums for you, yet still be considerably stronger than your Surge.
Personal opinion, but unless the lanes are really beat up, I rarely choose to get into balls as weak as the Surge and opt for midrange pearls like the Melee Jab.
@@brandondriley awesome insight. I wasn't sure if I would have done right to find similarities between the Omni and the Widow 2.0, but you are absolutely correct there. So with that said, I think I'll try to find a GB4 before it leaves the lineup.
Thank you very much for the insight. I chose the Surge cuz I wanted an entry level ball since I was picking up bowling again in 4 years and I also wanted to try out my first Storm ball, but yeah. Ball is a bit too weak and the Melee Jab is a better pick overall for what I need.

I'm probably most similar to Barks in speed, revs and preferred line, except I bowl with the correct hand! lol
I just started watching your videos, so I haven’t learned all your styles yet. But generally speaking, it does help a little if I can see someone with a similar style throw a ball so I understand what it may do for me and where it may fit in my bag.
Jimoo, it matters to a point. I enjoy watching the videos for ball reviews and comparisons with multiple people testing it in the same video. I bowl 2 handed and have a lower ball speed so seeing a sharper reaction and adding a bit more boards and earlier helps out.
I really enjoy Barks’s reviews because I am left handed and we like a similar look on the lane (not always up 5, but sometimes 7) and when needed can get right and slow hook it. His commentary is solid and easy to follow. That being said all of you guys do a great job and your videos are entertaining and informative.
Definitely matters to me as I like to see at least someone who bowls somewhat similar to me lol. Watching two handers or someone who has crazy speed or revs doesn’t really help with a ball review if you bowl nothing like them. That’s why I love when you guys do different styles !! PS I also bowl like a right handed BARKS!

I’m probably closest to a right handed Barker. I don’t throw as hard but tend to get more up the back of the ball like he does. I also don’t bowl from inside much.
I’m a lefty just like barks, in fact the only reason I started watching this channel was to see a lefty throw Brunswick stuff. My release is like Tamer the most, but he projects the ball and loops it quite a bit more than me. I prefer to shoot bee bees up 5 on any given pattern. One think I’d like to see is barks discussing how he builds his bag, We do things differently than righties and approach transition and lane play quite a bit different as well, so that all translates into a different bag. Sometimes I get lost in what I’m trying to do in that regard so I’m curious how barks approaches it.

Jungo’s back! Jung is my favorite reviewer he throws Storm / Roto and his ball motion is more like mine.
I prefer one handed lower rev examples. That’s just my play style. Also I just got this ball and I love it!

Brilliant as always, that Gb4 is great surface it's always a great choice to make our lanes are Snappy coming off of the breakpoint, that ball is real versatile, ball speed rotation release position all comes into play like you guys know your equipment blow your style and you'll be in there, great content as usual keep it up guys.

started bowling bout a year ago and i like watching jimoo as i am also a two handed bowler so i feel like i can relate to his reviews compared to a one handed bowler. but love watching all you guys
I'm pretty much between Jungo and Gootz. Higher ball speed and higher rev rate. I still like to watch all of you throw, because my friends who are newer to the game all pretty much match one of you guys, and it helps give me an idea of what balls would be good for them. I've been having them watch your videos too.
Barks.. Very similar.. I'm lefty as well and I bowl outside alot.
Once you said lefty i wouldnt expect you to play anything inside of 15

Bowled an 8 game scratch sweeper yesterday on 39’ Tungsten. I used this ball all 8 games and it gave me an amazing look. If I threw it better, and I wasn’t in a house known for terrible carry, could have places better but you know. Also to answer the question, if I can create a relationship between what they see out of a ball and what I see out of a ball, they don’t have to throw it anything like me and I should be able to extrapolate what I would see.
Being a lefty I bowl the most like barks but jungo is my favorite.
I’m mostly in between Brando and Jungo hook the ball a little bit but have medium ball Speed
I think brando is really close to me. I might have a little more rev but its basically spot on. Even the 5 step is spot on.
I feel like I’d spin this ball up to 3000 or maybe as much as 5000. I don’t have the fascination with “lane shine” as a surface, I’ll just spin it up to what I want. As for me, I don’t know that I get as much ball motion as any of you guys. For a ball review I like to see some ball motion, if a tester is throwing lasers everything will look about the same.
I bowled with Brando last night and he used the gb4 first game on the fresh. He took the surface to 3k on the spinner and couldnt miss . 259 .pattern was gateway arch 9:1 ratio
I watch quite a few ball reaction videos to get as wide of a range of different throwing styles and see how the ball will react and if it is a shape I like or want to try. I'm a right handed bowler and I am a single handed bowler. I usually don't watch the two handed bowlers ball reviews because I don't throw like they do and I don't have as many revs on the ball. I usually see a lot of Bark's videos because I throw a lot of hammer equipment.
More like Barker because I am left handed and come up the back of the ball more. I don't have as much speed though. I'm definitely going to add a few of the balls that he has in his 6 ball arsenal probably the verge and the obsession tour.

I am SOOO like Barker. I'm left handed (7 months now...after perm. injury to right hand.) I'm already at a 157 avg and looking forward to new season with more reps. But I get SOMETHING from everyone there. I like that you show so much with so many styles. Is more REAL looking than man I see online. I have the Brunswick Knockout and the DV8 Damn Good Verge. I MIGHT find a place for this ball. We'll see. Thanks guys.
Barks, I am lefty who hardly ever moves my line in further than the second arrow. I always look forward to his input, even with my bag currently being a mix of Storm and Hammer equipment.

I currently bowl most like Brando with my high tilt and middle of the road speed and revs. Slowly trying to make my way to looking more like Jungo, working on lowering tilt and rotation mostly.
Being that I'm left handed I'll go with Barker

I bowl closest to Jungo that being said I got this ball a day after it released and drilled it a day after and went home and the next day threw it on fresh house shot for league did okay but it was a lot of hook for the first day. After league I put the shark pattern down and shot 240, 227, 213, 223, 257, 222 for 230.3 average. When he said he could have a longer pattern and play straight and have more success I had to put a comment.

I definitely bowl a lot like barks. Even though I'm a righty, I have a very similar release. It's pretty important to me to see a ball thrown by someone with a similar release.
I roll more like Barks (a fit 66 years old). lol I like early hook, smooth transition, too.
You guys seem very genuine, and it seems that you like and respect each other; don't lose that.

The dude throwing the Game Breaker, which the exception of how he bends his elbow, I am much straighter, beyond that my style is pretty close, and where I throw it, is about the same.
My style is more like Gootz or Jung with speed around 18-20 mph. Though I play a lot straighter normally as a result

Jungo, and it matters. Hard to know how much you can match up to a ball if you are dominant in rev or speed and the person reviewing the ball is the opposite.

Style doesn't matter, but I'm more of a stroker like Barks and can use some hand positions for different ball rolls. I like watching all styles. That said, Gootz throwing the ball is way cool, but it's everyone's reaction afterward. Especially Barks! He just shrugged his shoulders and shook his head like, "This just doesn't make any damn sense." LOL! Classic!
Im easily closest to jungo and yesnit does play a factor in the ball review i watch because if someone that throws like me around the same speed and rev rate thats generally what the balls gonna look like for myself aswell

Definitely between Jungo and Brando. A little more tilt than Jungo but a lot less than Brando. Similar revs and not quite as much axis rotation as Brando, though.
I bowl more like Barks but as a righty. I cannot hook the ball to save my life and my speed is pretty slow too for being a big guy lol. Then again I’ve only bowled for like a year and don’t practice lol . Wish I can bowl like Gootz or Jungo tho :(

The biggest issue with these reviews, is that you guys select an optimal oil pattern for the balls you are testing. It adds an extra variable that completely muddles the results.

Guess I’m still pretty new. Just wondering why balls come with 2 grit finishes and what it means. Like the GB4 500 1500?
That's a good question, so 500,1500 means that a 500 grit abralon pad is applied, then a 1500 pad right on top of the 500. This method is used so that the 1500 grit will remain much longer while you bowl compared to if there was no 500 underneath

Incite is a little sharper down lane. Similar amount of boards covered though
I bowl like Jimoo. Yes it makes a difference for me. Jungo is ok but Jimoo is better. Watching Barks is the worst for me but for people who bowl like him he's great.

I feel like the verge likes slower speeds. Does the GB4 like faster speeds?
I think the Verge is better at slower speeds because the coverstock is a bit stronger, and doesn’t change directions as violently as the GB4. I think the GB4 is best suited for transition, when the pattern has broken down a bit and it encounters friction earlier

Is there a diffrence between a ball with Dynamic Core and a ball with no Dynamic Core?

My understanding is that Dynamicore is a better quality filler material which lives between the core and outer coverstock, which better resists cracking and warranty issues. The drill bit penetrated the GB4 (without dynamicore) a lot easier than my Zenith Pearl (with dynamicore) and according to Brunswick's testing, marginally improves pin carry.
I'd say jungo is the closest. Plus I don't get to see many ball reviews in 16 lbs. Also gootz just makes me depressed seeing is revs lol
