it's about rhythm when practicing... shots are much closer together, so it's easy to get in the groove... 4 or 5 man leagues you almost get cold between shots some times, especially if lanes break or need pins replaced or cleared.
...and then there's the 10th frame when you get ICE cold.

Actually, Matt Sanders had 18 in a row out of the box with the Track Sensor Pearl when it first came out. He literally said he was going to try to "not strike" on the next ball, and he didn't. Nevertheless, that's some awesome striking on camera!
Back when I was good I went front 26, moved left and still left the big 4, and then had the back 9. Those were the days.

Longest string was 8 during league… then the pin setter broke and waited 15 minutes before they moved us to a different lane. Got a few warm ups but went -/ in the 9th lol definitely got it in my own head but hey no pressure after a gutter ball 😂

I had a 14 bagger with a Varipapa 300. I bowled a 280, followed by a 279. Saldy, it was during open bowling years ago... But, it showed me that a perfect game is possible in my future. I'm still trying to get my first sanctioned 300.
"The Professor"!!! I knew this was going to be good when I saw The Professor in it. Wow this ball looks good but not sure on the left. Barks needs to review this as well for us southpaws. My longest streak is 12 back in December.

I've had 10 in a single game twice, and 11 straight across two games once. Have also struck 11 times in a single game nonconsecutively (7th or 8th frame split).
The most strikes I've had in a row is 21, back 10 front 11
7 is my best. lol always get nervous and throw too fast or get it too far right.
17 or 18 I think. In this little house in Manawa WI 6 lanes and not known for high scoring

Last year i had the front 9, then get a pocket shot the 6 bounced off the wall and slid the 10 pin to the left the width of the pin... i missed the spare

My personal best of strikes in a row is 18 over 2 games in league. I finished the 1st game with the last 6 frames in a row for 212. I struck out in the 2nd game for 300!!!

A few years back, with the use of an Elite Red Alien, I had the back 11, then continued with a 7-8 bagger. Then I completely lost my line and promptly tossed a 140 game. :) Gatta love bowling sometimes. lol
In regards to how this ball roles, this could be a great replacement for my Hy-Road X. Love how smooth it looks. From other reviews of it, it seems to want oil. Would you say that's the case here?
Nice string! I think the gb5 would be stronger - more like an updated phase 2. I would say medium to medium heavy oil

24 is my best. Went back to back 300 with the GB2 Phenom. Finished up with 846

The only issue I have with this is that there is clearly lane shine or polish on the GB4 and the GB5 is duller. How did the shinier GB4 read too early when the GB5 is obviously the stronger ball overall? Great video overall though with the GB5 looking like a beast on that longer pattern. It just matched up better than the GB4. More curious to see what the difference would be if you took the GB4 and GB5 with the exact same surface prep.
Gb4 was detoxed and resurfaced back to box that day. The variable being that the pads could have been worn at a different rate from those in the factory and the gb4 does have probably 75 games on it
