Im in Florida and looking to relocate to Colorado. Was wondering if that was possible with chickens. They are cinnamon queens and can tolerate winter. But mine have only experienced Florida winter. Would they be fine? I really want to take them with me.
Our NC winters weren’t harsh at all- not as warm as FL but nothing like Idaho. We had a very hard winter this past year and all my girls are good. The worst thing we dealt with was frost bite to a comb. I would think your breeds would do just fine!
Ah that’s a journey for sure! We went about 3,000 miles so I feel you, with about the same amount of birds. I would definitely recommend getting crates like I did and separating them to either 2 or 3 per crate. Plan snacks for stops (like every fuel stop) electrolyte water. How many days are you planning ?
I moved from Texas to Alaska and will be moving from Alaska to VA. NOT looking forward to it again lol It took almost a 2 weeks drive! Ugh.
Im so glad found this video. We are moving from idaho to Florida. Any tips?
Ah shew- That’s a big move! But super exciting . How big is your flock?
I'm wondering if the ducks cared more because they have stronger navigation systems to know how far they've moved??
Hard to say! Only one duck was super stressed - my other was just along for the ride.
